[7.0] "This was a cool show. It further showcased the hybrid between martial arts and pro wrestling that initial FMW was going for. While it is probably safe to say UWF ended up being the better, more productive version of this hybrid, FMW's is very interesting to see unfold because you can really sense that the pro wrestling part comes from All Japan, which it did obviously. There still exists the tropes, the structure, the sleaze if you will, of the fake pro wrestling. It's a direction that I don't think many would've went for, and just alone for so fully going for it, Onita is to be commended. The matches were very short, to the point, it got across the danger of every move. You come away from it thinking that these martial artists are dangerous, whether they have the kicking skills of Lee Gak Soo [there's a correction for you fellas at cagematch, rick wonshu this man is not] or the chair-wielding ability of Masanobu Kurisu. You might notice that the crowd is quiet, but I feel that with how they reacted to the big moments, this is a silence that is waiting to see what happens rather than a silence that is bored with what's going on. The tournament winner's way of celebrating was very cool. As a further correction, I believe this show is actually entitled Battle Renaissance after reading the Japanese title ''kakutou runessansu'' as opposed to ''rejisutansu''. Anyways, check this shit out."
