[4.0] "Not a good PPV. X-Pac and D'Lo Brown had the best match on the show and the main event was shitty, so there wasn't much to enjoy here. Christian Vs. Taka wasn't bad, but everything else was hard to watch."

[3.0] "I really didn't enjoy this one. Besides the European and Intercontinental title matches which were pretty decent, the rest of the show ranges from absolutely woeful to passable at best action, but the worst offenders were the last two matches. I guess they'd been teasing the Nation breakup the past few episodes of RAW but having Mark Henry face Rock here felt very sudden and abrupt, and even worse is the result: Rock is in the middle of his push to the main event and you have him lose in 5 minutes to Mark Henry? Then the main event, for me the worst match of the night and by a pretty big margin, though the post match angle of Austin being fired at least saved the show from ending on a bad note. Overall I can't really recommend anyone go out of their way to watch this unless you're like me and are doing a complete watch through of the Attitude Era."

[5.0] "This actually wasn't a bad PPV until it got to that eyesore of a main event! Taker vs Kane is just awful to watch and fans turned on it very quickly because they only cared that Austin was screwed out of the title so they didn't care who would win. The show ends in a big angle where McMahon fires Austin, but other than that its a shocking match and even worse there was also a big turn where Paul Bearer betrays Kane and reunited with The Undertaker and it's just meaningless because of the way the match finished. Thankfully the show does have one of the better undercards this year with X-Pac v D'Lo delivering big for the European Title as well as an enjoyable Shamrock v Mankind match that had a crazy and unique finish. Christian also had a very strong debut in winning the Light Heavyweight Title against Taka and The Head Bangers have a surprisingly good match with the New Age Outlaws despite the DQ finish."

[5.0] "An inverse of a lot of previous Attitude era PPV's, a mostly decent undercard heavily let down by the main event. Snow and Mero open up the show pretty nicely. Crowd was super into Al's gimmick and Mero actually got to showsome of his athletic moves again. (6/10) LOD face DOA again, at least this time its short and mostly Hawk and Animal destroying. Not good but better than most of this feud (4/10) Christian's in ring debut comes next and he gets a great opponent in TAKA. Michinoku starts off going for high flying moves playing the underdog but as the crowd turns he goes more cocky and gets angry at the crowd more like his Suzuki-Gun gimmick years later. Very nice back and fort and a very good first match to get Christian going (7/10) Venis faces Rhodes again but this time with the Goldust gimmick back, the crowd is more into it and there are no botches. Solid bout (6/10) X-Pac and D'Lo Brown have another bout for the European title and its a hidden gem. MOTN for sure very nice back and forth good nearfalls with Chyna and Henry getting involved. Two of the best wrestlers in the midcard at the time going at it for 15 minutes without too many shenanigas is always gonna be good (8/10) Tag title match is mostly avera with a few nive moments here and there but it goes for too long considering what the Outlaws and Headbangers can do (5/10) Shamrock/Mankind is a good match with some nice bumping from Foley and Shamrock looking crazy as always, the chairshot at the start is a bit weird but I did like the finish (6/10) Last two matches is where the show misses the mark Henry/Rock is a pointless short match thats not very good and has the wrong winner specially considering Rock was winning the title the following month (3/10) Taker and Kane manage to get someone trying to start a boring chant which is impressive in a main event from this era. Slow, plodding and ends in a non finish to build towards RAW instead of doing anything interesting. Ruins a prefectly fine PPV (2/10)"

[3.0] "I genuinely haven't been that angry at the main event since maybe Hogan vs Slaughter at WrestleMania and that thing buried the show. But starting from the beginning... The opener was forgettable with two guys with awful gimmicks. Next The Desciples of Apocalypse unfortunately reminded me that they still exist, while Christian vs Taka wasn't bad, but Michinoku just doesn't work as a heel. Goldust vs Venis was a pleasant surprise and you could actually easily root for Dustin here. X-Pac vs D-Lo was the best match of the night with Brown once again showing some amazing heel work and Waltman working nicely as an underdog. Head Bangers vs Outlaws was alright, although I wish that they didn't go with a DQ finish, or at least built everything up more before that. Shamrock and Mankind lost me when the referee didn't disqualify Ken, even though the other referee did exactly that in a Tag Team Match right before that, and then Rock vs Henry just leaves you wondering why did they decide to job the world title contender in a meaningless match. The main event is something else though. Taker and Kane having an absolute slug of a match with no intention of getting the crowd involved, which starts chanting "boring" and booing this abomination of a contest. One of the worst main events I have ever seen, plus Vince firing Austin at the end didn't get the reaction you would think it would. Awful show and the last few months look like the PPVs build the excitement for RAW and not the other way."

[7.0] "Insgesamt ein gutes PPV, das sehr viel von dem hält, was es verspricht - nur der Main Event war nicht so das übermäßige Highlight für mich, da es sehr seltsam wirkt, wenn der Undertaker und Kane kämpfen, während Austin quasi in Statistenrolle daneben herumsteht und abwartet. Das Ende des Kampfes war dann aber doch ganz cool. Viele gute Kämpfe, eine richtige Parade aller aktueller Kämpfer und daher auch sehr unterhaltsam. Was will man mehr? Also für mich durchaus überdurchschnittlich."

[6.0] "A show bookended by its worst - the opening match involved LOD2000, who just never worked under that gimmick (and it was soon to get far worse with the Hawk addiction angle), and putting them against the Harris Twins and an Ellering who had long been retired from in-ring competition did no one any favors. On the other end of the card, Henry vs. Rock was about as good a performance as you could expect from Henry at this point in his career, but at least was mercifully kept short and worked more as an angle as a match, the main event had all eyes on Austin as the special referee and was light on actual in-ring substance between Kane and Taker. However, the majority of the midcard was actually quite good, with the Taka-Christian, Goldust-Venis, Shamrock-Mankind and especially X-Pac-D'Lo delivering good in-ring action and solid storyline development."

[4.0] "Another long forgotten filler PPV and about the same quality as the previous month. X-Pac/D-Lo is a bit of a lost gem here so check it out!"

[5.0] "All the good stuff is in the mid card here, the start and end are pretty poor, especially the disappointing main event, which is proof that convoluted storylines are no substitute for actual wrestling."

[5.0] "This was the best the WWF undercard has looked all year but unfortunately, we got the worst WWF main event of the year by far. Taker and Kane start out with a decent brawl but then it resorts to rest holds and focusing on Austin. Matches from best to worst: Christian/Taka ***1/2, Dlo/X-Pac ***1/2, Christian/Taka ***1/2, Goldust/Venis **1/2, Snow Mero **1/2, Head Bangers **, Henry Rock *3/4, DOA/LOD *, Kane/Taker DUD"

[7.0] "I don't really agree with the low ratings. There are a handful of decent matches, and while the stories aren't as solid as they ought to be for a Judgment Day PPV, it's still an enjoyable couple of hours of wrestling. The main event falls flat though, which is rough, but the couple of matches in the middle of the show are honestly great. D-Lo v X-Pac was brilliant, Christian winning the Light Heavyweight title off TAKA was great, Shamrock and Mankind had a surprisingly decent match, and the tag team match was pretty solid, even if the ending is... a bit strange."

[5.0] "An average PPV at best. The main event is completely shit and make no sense at all as they literally ended the PPV with no world champion. Stone Cold was "fired" only to show up the next night on RAW anyway resulting in the stipulation making no sense at all. Thankfully the undercard help keep this to an OK score. Just ignore those awful tag matches and you'll be fine."

[8.0] "I know the technical in ring match quality is not the greatest. The announcing on this show is 5 stars. JR and King are absolutely on the top of their game. The story of the main event and the ending are excellent. So much of the storytelling in 1998 in off the charts. Christian vs Taka and D Lo vs X Pac are both really good matches. Mankind vs Shamrock ending is entertaining. Most of the other matches are bad to average."

[5.0] "Die Stinker des Abends sind irgendwie schon die beiden Tag-Matches, dabei besonders schlimm LOD/DOA, gefolgt von Mark Henry und leider auch dem Main-Event, welcher weder wrestlerisch noch storytechnisch ein Meilenstein ist. Die Story stagniert unnötig und zieht die Titelvakanz langatmig bis zur Survivor Series. Kleine Glanzlichter sind dagegen das PPV-Debüt von Christian mit einem ansprechendem Match, das gutklassige European-Titelmatch und die so simpel wie gut pointierte Storyline um Val Venis, Terri und Goldust. Das IC-Match kann man vorher aufgrund eines Stuhlschlages von Shamrock abbrechen, daher Punktabzug für Logikdefizite. Der Event bleibt schwächer als Breakdown zuvor und gerade so noch befriedigend."

Der Main Event ist schwach (**) aber als Story Angle gut mit dem Legendären "YouŽre fired" Alles in allem durchschnittlicher PPV"

[5.0] "Another forgettable In Your House PPV. Undercard is pretty good. There are two good matches and some okay ones. Howewer I don't understand why HeadBangers are in tag titles match. Main event is very-very disappointing. Action is slow and the match is not even about Taker and Kane but about Austin who ended it in a no contest."

[6.0] "Solide, aber keine Must See Show. Goldust vs Venis (**3/4), Pac vs D-Lo (MOTN *** 1/2) und Shamrock vs Mankind (*** 1/4) sind die Match technischen Highlights der Show. Der rest ist er eher nichts besonders und der Main Event bis auf den Aftermath sehr enttäuschend."

[5.0] "Der Event beginnt mit zwei äußerst durchschnittlichen Matches, die aber auch keinem weh tun. Christian vs Taka ist dann in meinen Augen wirklich gut und gehört meiner Meinung nach auch in den Matchguide. Es gibt schöne Aktionen, vorallem von Taka und spannend ist der Kampf auch. Goldust vs Val Venis ist definitiv gut aufgebaut und hat auch eine schöne Matchstory. Das Finish ist mir dann aber einfach zu billig. D-Lo und X-Pac liefern sich danach ein richtig gutes Match was ich den beiden in keinster Weise zugetraut hätte. Zusammen mit dem Light Heavyweight Match das MotN. Das Tag Team Match ist maximal o. k. , mehr nicht. Es passiert einfach viel zu wenig und das Finish ist kompletter Müll. Shamrock vs Mankind ist dann wieder besser. Viel Brawling, viele Submission-Moves und eine ordentlich Portion Stiffness. Leider sind Finish und Aftermath so gar nicht mein Fall. Dennoch war die Show bis hierhin durchaus sehenswert. Aber dann geht es steil bergab. Das bei Mark Henry vs The Rock nicht rauskommt war zu erwarten. Ausserdem haben sie kaum Zeit bekommen. Der Main Event ist dann aber wirklich frech. Wenn es eine Top 5 der langweiligsten Main Events aller Zeiten geben würde, wäre dieses Match definitiv dabei. Nur Gewürge und ein Gebrawle und sonst nichts. Es gibt vollkommen zu Recht "Boring"-Chants. Das Ganze zieht den Event dann auf knappe 5 Punkte runter."

[5.0] "It has one of the most disappointing main event ever made. The vacant title with a match where there is another no contest in a pay per view. It's the worst thing to do. The undercard isn't bad, and Ken Shamrock vs Mankind is a good match, but it lacks something better. I'm getting tired of LOD 2000 and DoA. Mark Henry vs The Rock doesn't feel the right conclusion to their feud."

[4.0] "Irgendwo zwischen vier und fünf Punkten würde ich die Show ansiedeln, generell aber eher und oft ein lahmer Zock. Die Legion of Doom mit ihrem letzten PPV-Auftritt bei der WWF, seltsam die beiden mit normalen Frisuren zu sehen. X-Pac gegen DLB war nicht verkehrt, Shamrock gegen Mankind gab mir wenig. Der Main Event ging gut los, dann verloren die drei bzw. zwei das Publikum und es wurde richtig still in der Halle, auch wenn sie die Kurve dann noch bekommen haben. Unterm Strich war das nur mittelmäßiges Wrestling und ebensolche Unterhaltung."

[3.0] "The Attitude Era is getting tired. I'm so tired of seeing Marc Mero and LOD 2000 and The Disciples of Apocalypse (especially the Disciples of Apocalypse! ) and Val Venis and DX and the Head Bangers. Also, Kane vs. The Undertaker has run its course as far as I'm concerned. Please, no more."

[5.0] "1. Der Opener war nicht toll. Aus heutiger Sich kaum zu glauben wie over Snow war. (2*) 2. Das Six Man Tag Team Match war schwach. Skull & 8-Ball waren nie die besten im Ring und auch der Rest an ihnen war nie gut. (1 1/4*) 3. Christian gegen Taka war gut. Überraschenderweise konnte Christian sich auch gleich mit Gold schmücken. (3 1/4*) 4. Goldust gegen Venis war okay. (2 1/2*) 5. Brown gegen X-Pac war auf ähnlichen Niveau wie das CW Match. (3*) 6. Das TTTM war okay. Warum die Outlaws so over waren kann ich mir nicht vorstellen. Das Finish ist dann enttäuschend. (2 1/2*) 7. Shamrock gegen Mankind ging mir einfach zu lang. Des weiteren hat dieses Match ein bescheuertes Ende. Mankind macht sich selbst KO und spaziert dann wieder aus der Halle. (2*) 8. Henry gegen Rock erfüllt seinen Zweck. (1 3/4*) 9. Me war enttäuschend. Das Match hatte kein Tempo drin. Und wieder ein unklares Finish. (1 1/2*)"

[5.0] "Judgment Day 1998 ist ein geradezu typischer PPV aus der damaligen Zeit. Nahezu der komplette Event ist auf den Mainer zugeschnitten und die Crowd würdigt dies mit zufriedener Stille. Al Snow vs. Marc Mero ist ein solider Opener mit dem man in der Tat nichts falsch machen kann. Dies ändert sich jedoch mit dem Six Man Tag Team Match; meine Güte war das mies. Toll war auch Christian hier als Vampir nicht; der Gewinn des Gürtels kam immerhin überraschend. Goldust vs. Venis und Dl-Lo vs. X-Pac waren die Matches des Abends, was leider sehr viel über den PPV aussagt. Der Main Event, so sehr ich Kane und insbesondere den Taker mag, war einfach zu langsam und vor allem zu lange. Selten auch ein solches Match gesehen, in dem es gerade einmal zwei Pin-Versuche gab. Die Storie hat es verlangt..."

[6.0] "Al Snow ist over, so war es zumindest ein stimmungsvoller Opener. LOD 2000 gegen DOA macht keinen Spaß. Christian gegen Taka war okay, genauso Goldust gegen Venis, wo zumindest eine Story dahinter steckt. X-Pac gegen D-Lo war vom wrestlerischen Standpunkt her das beste Match des Abends. Headbangers gegen NAO war nichts. Shamrock gegen Mankind war ordentlich und hatte eine spaßiges Finish. Henry gegen Rock schwach und der Main Event war auch nichts besonderes, eher noch das Nachspiel. Ordentlicher PPV, mehr aber auch nicht."

[6.0] "Sehr durchschnittliche Veranstaltung mit wenigen Highlights, aber auch wenigen Schwächen - zumindest bis zum Main Event. Einzig das 6-Men-Tag Match war wirklich langweilig. Was am Ende eine bessere Wertung verhindert ist der langatmige letzte Kampf. Das war wirklich nix besonderes und auch die Involvierung von Austin als Referee hat das Match nicht über unteren Durchschnitt gebracht. Passte zwar alles in eine klug erzählte Storyline, aber wenn man nur isoliert diesen Event betrachtet, dann sind ingsgesamt nicht mehr als sechs Punkte drin."

[7.0] "This was the rare occasion in 1998 where good wrestling met good writing on the same PPV. Sure, it was another case of building the TV show with a PPV, but it wound up working in the short run because more TV viewers meant a wider pool to advertise the PPVs to."

[5.0] "Den Anfang machten Marc Mero vs. Al Snow. Snow wieder mit guten Face Reaktionen und Mero musste man einfach hassen. In dem Match waren einige gute Aktionen dabei insgesamt aber eher durchschnitt da es auch viel zu kurz war 5/10. danach kam LOD 2000 vs. DOA. Ich konnte mir einfach nie Matches mit den DOA Jungs antun, da sie eigentlich immer langweilig sind sowie dieses hier. Animal und Hawk hatten ein paar nette Momente aber ansonsten unbrauchbar 2/10. Christian erstes PPV Match hatte leider keine Story mit seinem Gegner. Schnell geführtes Match mit schönen Spots 6/10. Goldust vs. Val Venis ging mir etwas zu lange und hatte viel Leerlauf, wieder nur durchschnitt 5/10. Xpac vs. D-Lo war ein kleines Highlight. Gute Konter und D-Lo zeigte das er harte Aktionen drauf hat und ein guter Highflyer ist. Das Publikum war auch total drin und der X-Factor am Ende war echt klasse 8/10. Tag Team Title Match New Age Outlaws vs. Headbangers. Sehr viel Standardkost, Publikum war auch deutlich ruhiger wie beim Match zuvor. Wie kann man es ihnen auch verdenken wenn die beiden Teams keine gute Chemie miteinander haben und nichts spektakuläres passiert. Das Ende war dann sehr unbefriedigend 5/10. Ken Shamrock vs Mankind. Durchschnitt.. 5/10 The Rock vs. Mark Henry. Viel zu kurz und viel zu schlecht 2/10. Undertaker vs. Kane. Ohne Story wäre das nichts gewesen. Taker vs. Kane Matches waren damals sowie 2010 langsam und zäh. Das Match war halt nur wegen der Story um Austin noch ok, rein wrestlerisch war"

[5.0] "Durch und durch ein mittelmäßiger PPV. Kein Match war wirklich stark oder besonders schlecht."

[6.0] "Mit Mero vs Snow macht man hier nichts falsch, passabler Opener, 5/10. Das Six Man Tag ist so, wie man sich das vorher denkt, Droz isoliert, Hot Tag, Sieg, 4/10. Christian gegen Taka vom Ansatz her ok, schöne Spots, aber keine Story, 5/10. Goldust gegen Venis baut zum einen auf Venis' gutes Stück auf, während dem Kampf gute Armbearbeitung gegen Goldust, 6/10. X-Pac gegen Brown 7/10, mehr im Guide. Das Tag Title Match ist einfach nur da und nichts besonderes, 5/10. Shamrock gegen Mankind 5/10, mehr im Guide. Henry gegen Rock ist einfach schlimm, 2/10. Mainer danach ein typisches Taker gegen Kane Match, langsam, langweilig, aber in die Story passt es, ohne Promo danach wäre das nichts, 4/10. Die Promo ist aber dann noch etwas besonderes und ich gebe dem Event insgesamt noch ein knappes Befriedigend, 6 Punkte."

[5.0] "Der Opener in Ordnung, LOD vs DOA wiedermal grauenhaft, Christian vs Michinoku ganz nett, Goldust vs Venis das >Match der merkwürdigen Gimmicks kann nicht wirklich überzeuegn, Pac vs Brown ist sher unterhaltsam, TT TitelmatcŽh nviel zu lang und dafür nicht mal gut, Shamrock vs Maniknd wie fast alle Shamrock Matche nicht so meins, Henry vsa Rock schwach mit blöden Matchausgang und das Main event ist an sich in ordnung nur für ein ME ungenügent. Alles in allem ein durchweg durchschnittliches Event."
