[7.0] "1998 was a year of transition for the WWF. Their undercard was seriously unorganized, but their main events were spectacular. This show was a perfect example of the WWF during the Attitude Era. Austin Vs. McMahon at its finest."

[5.0] "Die Show ist wieder hit or miss. Der Opener ist ziemlich kacke, wenn man ehrlich ist, hat aber immerhin die richtigen Sieger. Double J vs. Steve Blackman war in Ordnung und Kai En Tai vs. Bradshaw & Taka war ganz nett für das, was es sein sollte aber man merkte hier irgendwie schon, dass man die Light Heavyweights nur so semi ernst genommen hat hinter den Kulissen. Marc Mero vs. Sable war kaum ein Match, hinzu kommt aber auch, dass ich es absolut furchtbar fand. Hauptsache die Frau wurde gedemütigt. The Rock vs. Farooq leidet sehr unter dem Angriff nach dem zweiten Match, als The Rock einen Piledriver einstecken musste. Dadurch musste der Heel mit einer Story-Verletzung in das Match gehen und gewinnt dieses lame Match dann sogar nach 5 Minuten, wodurch Farooq aussieht, wie der letzte Trottel. Das war echt nicht gut. Kane vs. Vader ist mit 7 Minuten auch knapp bemessen und war dafür vielleicht noch okay aber schon schade, was man zu dieser Zeit mit Vader gemacht hat. The Nation vs. D-X fand ich dann ganz nett, da es endlich mal ein vernünftiges Match war. Der Main Event ist ganz klar MOTN. Am Ende gibt es erwartbar viele Shenanigans aber der Brawl zwischen Austin und Dude Love war schon ziemlich gut."

[5.0] "Die Hälfte dieser Show war alles andere als gut, teilweise sogar schlecht. Es gab ein paar Highlights, besonders mit dem Main Event. Sehr positiv finde ich, wie schnell sich diese Sendung weggucken ließ. Darum kommt die Bewertung doch besser daher als gedacht"

[6.0] "Average PPV with an outstanding main event, which is a bit of a pattern with most of the 1998 shows. Austin v Foley was a classic match with the storylines going on around it making the match even more entertaining and not detracting from it whatsoever. There was also a surprisingly good Bradshaw/Taka vs Kaientai handicap match early on in the show. Marc Mero went peak heel with the way he gets a cheap pin on Sable to send her packing from the WWF (for now) and I thought Jarrett v Blackman and DX vs Nation was okay matches but nothing special. There was a few filler matches that you can easily skip through and Rock v Faarooq in particular was very disappointing especially considering the strong build."

[4.0] "Another fairly weak In Your House PPV. LOD continues to have matches with a decent start that peter out quickly. The Harris brothers suck as always so nothing to see here (3/10) Jarrett/Blackman is mostly average, Jarrett is a solid heel back in his original gimmick and Blackman has some cool moves but zero charisma, not bad but a little sloppy (5/10) Mero/Sable is just an angle and not an entertaining one at that (0/10) Kain En Tai vs Bradshaw and TAKA is the first good match in the card. A lot of fun double teams and high flying by the heels with TAKA playing the face in peril well and Bradshaw looking badass. Nothing insane but fine (6/10) Rock/Faarooq had a bunch of set up with Rock getting attacked earlier in the night, but that didn't really add much drama here. The match is short and uninteresting also has a botched finish and makes Ron Simmons look like a total chump for losing (3/10) Kane/Vader is not as good as their previous PPV match and is a bit sloppy at times, but I thought was a watchable hoss fight with a few cool spots (5/10) Nation/DX was a solid 6 man tag with nice wrestling and some fluid sequences specially when Owen got involved. A bit over long but enjoyable (6/10) Austin/Dude Love is a good main event, with an enjoyable preamble by MCmahon and the Stooges. Theres a lot of brawling around and overbooking but its mostly fun. Can't say the match is great because Austin counting his own pin with Mcmahon's hand is a dumb finish. Still MOTN though (7/10)"

[3.0] "If it wasnt for the Main Event; this show would potentially be considered as one of the WWF's worst from this period, as the under card was a whole lot of nothing. However, that Main Event was top notch stuff and it rescued the show from the abyss. Its still not a good show, but its not a terrible one at least. I still wouldnt recommend you actually watching the show as a whole, but that Main Event is absolutely worth checking out."

[5.0] "A mixbag of a PPV with a fantastic main event. It didn't start well though, as I was once again forced to watch the DoA match with Harris Brothers having no idea how to work as heels in control. Then Jarrett got probably the best possible match out of Blackman, while Mero tricking Sable into getting her pinned made me pop. Handicap Match was a very pleasant surprise with a focus of the match being Kai En Tai desperately trying to avoid a confonration with Bradshaw and Dick Togo looking especially impressive there. Then Rock and Faarooq had not an awful, but still a disappointing match considering how nicely their feud has been going, while Kane vs Vader wasn't as good as their previous meeting, but still it was nice to see how over Big Van was with the fans. 6-Man Tag was okay, although it started dragging a little in the middle, plus DX don't really do it for me as faces. And then the main event was the highlight of the show. Fantastic storytelling here with everybody trying to screw Austin out of the title. Pat's introductions and remainders were fantastic, Vince's work as a referee was great and overall the brawl itself was very entertaining with a clever finish to end the match. All in all the main event is worth checking out, the rest not so much, but still with some good stuff here and there."

[6.0] "Alot of this show is skippable but it is saved from being bang mediocre by an amazing main event. The rest of the show isn't worth watching other than possibly the Nation/DX tag match or if you wanna see Kaientai get a good showing."

[5.0] "Pretty much a one-match show; the Austin vs. Foley main event is another great chapter of Austin fighting against all odds in his feud with McMahon's corporation. Some may accuse it of being overbooked, and it was, but in this case the overbooking suited the overall story well and, most importantly, made for a very entertaining main event. While the undercard isn't nearly that strong - most of it could've been handed on Raw just fine - it isn't a total loss, as the Bradshaw/Taka vs. Kaientai match was pretty fun and, surprisingly, the second-best match on the card, and Jarrett-Blackman match and the DX-Nation six-man were OK if not anything you wouldn't see on free TV. Rock-Faarooq was disappointing, as what should've been a good feud ended with a short match with a botched end, and Kane-Vader could have been a solid hoss battle if they weren't just openly wasting Vader at this point."

[5.0] "Main event makes this show worth it, the rest is overly disappointing, I guess this describes the Attitude Era perfectly huh?"

[4.0] "This is a classic example of the WWF Attitude era where nearly the entire under card was meaningless trash and the main event was the only thing that mattered on the PPV. Austin/Foley once again get top honors tonight but they had no competition to speak of. The main event is MUST for any attitude era fan, but the rest is a waste of time if you sat through it once. Still a pretty lousy PPV with one gem buried under the crap."

[4.0] "Diese Show wurde von einem Match total getragen. Dies kam nicht nur einmal während dieser Ära in der WWF vor und diese Show ist das perfekte Beispiel. Am besten man schaut sich nur den Main Event hat, wenn man auf den Rest keine Lust, oder keine Zeit hat. Dieser war wirklich stark und das Paradebeispiel für ein Main Event, wo alles in ein riesieges Chaos ausartet."

[3.0] "Absolutely a one match show, nothing else was worth watching except maybe the KaiEnTai match. But that main event is, if not quite a classic, certainly very good and very important. Watch that, skip the rest."

[5.0] "This show was alright with a really good main event to close the show. The undercard matches were alright, but Kai en Tai vs Bradshaw & Taka was actually pretty good which was a shock to me. Rock/Farooq was bad, the two clearly lacked chemistry and the botched finish doesn't help things at all. Matches from best to worst: Austin/Love ****3/4, Kai en Tai vs Bradshaw& Taka ***, six-man tag **3/4, Jarret/Blackman **1/4, Kane Vader *, LOD 2000/DOA 1/2*, Rock/Farooq DUD"

[6.0] "The main event was absolutely insane. Absolutely iconic match. Sadly, there wasn't much else to this PPV. Bradshaw and Taka taking on the Kai En Tai was pretty good. Taka got dominated by swift tag team action from the trio, and Bradshaw wiped them out when he got tagged in. Faarooq and Rock didn't have the most impressive of matches, Rocky having his neck brace on as he came out to his (new, awesome) theme song. Who cares that Vader lost his match, it barely covered anything anyway. At least the moonsault looks sick as always coming from Vader."

[6.0] "Pros: - Steve Austin vs Dude Love (match of the night); - Kai En Tai vs Taka Michinoku and Bradshaw; - Nation of Domination vs D-Generation X; - Jeff Jarrett vs Steve Blackman; Cons: - Legion of Doom 2000 (Road Warriors) vs Disciples of Apocalypse; - match between Marc Mero and Sable was just a segment; - The Rock vs Faarooq; - Big Van Vader got embarrassed after losing his match against Kane; In conclusion, Over The Edge 1998 (In Your House 22) was an average show with the spectacular main event."

[5.0] "The three on two handicap is a pleasant surprise and the main event is absolute chaotic fun from start to end, but everything else, eh, is a hard skip."

[5.0] "Typical Attitude era PPV: awful undercard and very good main event. Taka and Bradshaw vs Kai End Tails is pretty decent as well as 6 man tag. Howewer other undercard matches are mediocre at best. Main event is great. It has some cool spots but I think that main reason for this match to be that great is how it was booked. Just watch it by yourself, this is highly recommended."

[5.0] "120 Minuten unteres Mittelmass und dann ein Kracher. Das untere Mittelmass rutscht immerhin nicht weiter ab - der Opener ist aber kurz davor. Wenigstens können Jarrett und Blackman im Anschluss eine unerwartet gut ansehbare Partie bieten, so dass sich diese ersten beiden Matches in Summe qualitativ aufheben. 'Loser leaves Town' ist natürlich überflüssig wie eine Karre Mist - bringt jedoch eine der wenigen akzeptablen schauspielerischen Leistungen Marc Meros zu Tage. Kaientais Auftritt ist temporeich und relativ ansehnlich - zieht aber kaum Interesse. Faarooq und Rocky dürfen erneut nicht ihre Langzeitfehde anständig zu Ende bringen und das Interessanteste an der 'No Way Out' Revanche Vaders ist sein seltsames Post-Match Interview mit den Worten 'I'm just a big, fat piece of shit' - das soll den baldigen Abschied des Monsters aus den Rocky Mountains andeuten. Der Mainer ist locker zwei Stufen besser als das Match vom vorhergehenden PPV und überrascht damit, dass nicht nur Foley die teilweise knüppelharten Bumps nimmt, sondern auch Austin diese mitgeht. Zumindest dieses Match sollte man mal gesehen haben."

[5.0] "DX vs Nation is a decent match worth watching and the main event is really good but thats about it for this card, everything else is lackluster."

[4.0] "Also bis auf den Main Event war das hier nichtmal Standartkost. Kein wirklich dolles Match außer dem Main Event und dazu leider noch so ein Trash auf der Card wie Mero vs Sable."

[5.0] "Das hier war eine schwache Show, die einzig und allein auf dem Main Event aufgebaut war. Alle anderen Matches sind im optimalfall noch geradeso durchschnittlich, meistens aber unterdurchschnittlich bis schlecht. Wie gesagt das einzig sehenswerte Match der gesamten Show ist der Main Event. Die Show ist ganz klar nicht zu empfehlen."

[5.0] "UPDATE: Introclip gut. Opener war schwach (* 3/4). Segment danach war okay. Steve Austin Backstage Interview großartig. Jarrett vs. Blackman war sehr schlecht. Gegen Ende viel zu viele unnötige Eingriffe (*). Mero/Sable war dann zu erwarten das, was es war und zwar gar nichts (0 *). Bradshaw & Michinoku vs. Kai En Tai war solide (** 3/4). Rock vs. Farooq war bis aufs Ende schwach, das ist storytechnisch nachzuvollziehen (* 1/2). Das Mini-Segment danach war okay. Kane vs. Vader war für die Voraussetzungen in Ordnung, besonders die Schlussphase konnte durchaus überzeugen (** 1/4). Demaskierung, Bearers Mocking und das Interview mit Vader war soweit gut, auch wenn die Demaskierung ein Fehler war. Vader hätte noch so viel mit dem Gimmick erreichen können und wurde anschließend verjobt. Segment danach war okay, Heelwork von Lawler sehr gut. DX vs. The Nation war zäh, aber an sich okay. Ende war dann wieder unclean, aber passte. Schlussphase war in Ordnung (** 1/2). ME Promo sehr gut. Der Main Event beginnt in Ordnung, Overbooking geht auch klar und passt zur Story. Dann geht es ab mit einigen netten Spots (u. a. Back Body Drop durch Windschutzscheibe). Die McMahon/Taker Matchstory gefiel mir auch. Schlussphase dann sehr intensiv und mit einem krassen Nearfall nach dem Double-Underhook-DDT auf einen Stuhl von Foley. Das Finish ist dann unglaublich göttlich und es kennt wohl jeder, einfach legendär. Der Chairshot an McMahon, das unglaublich spannende und dramatische Refrausziehen, der Chokeslam durch das Pult an Patterson, durch das andere Pult an Brisco, dann der Mandible Claw Konter in den Stunner und Austin zählt mit McMahons Hand das Finish - göttlich! Großartiges Match mit unglaublicher Dramatik (****œ). Szene nach dem Match noch mal schön. Insgesamt kommt Over the Edge 1998 bei mir auf 4, 81 von 10 Punkten - "okay"."

[6.0] "Once again another event in 1998 where the entertainment has more time than the actual Wrestling. Steve Austin vs Dude Love is a strong main event and I like the 3 vs 3 match with the D-X against the new Nation of Domination. The rest is almost forgettable, there is something good in Vader vs Kane and The Rock vs Farooq, but the undercard is really bad."

[6.0] "1. Der Opener war nicht gut. Die LoD war einfach über & von der DOA war einfach nicht viel zu erwarten. (1 1/2*) 2. JJ gegen Blackman war okay. (2*) 3. Mero gegen Sable war ne Farce. Das man Sable entlässt war sowieso kaum vorstellbar. (o. W. ) 4. Handicap Match war solide. (2*) 5. The Rock gegen Faarooq war auch nicht gut. Auf ähnlichen Niveau wie die vorigen Matches. (1 3/4*) 6. Im Anschluss wird Vader weiter verjobbt. (1 3/4*) 7. Nation gegen DX ging mir einen Ticken zu lange. Es war nicht schlecht, aber auch nicht so gut. Überraschenderweise durfte die Nation triumphieren. (2 3/4*) 8. ME siehe Guide. Die Show war eine kleine Steigerung gegenüber den vorigen B-PPVs. Lag vor allem am guten ME."

[3.0] "Eeehhh. Not great, as the wrestling is still taking a backseat to the storylines. Good amount of talent on the show, but it's just not used right, in my opinion. And can I just say Vader putting his mask on the line in a match is hilariously dumb? Because it is."

[6.0] "Ganz nette In Your House-Show, die man sich gut angucken kann und größtenteils gut abliefert. Match-technisch war soweit alles im grünen Bereich und der Main Event, bei welchem das "Overbooking" ausnahmsweise nicht schadete, wusste zu überzeugen und war sehr unterhaltsam."

[6.0] "LOD 2000 gegen DOA war richtig schwach, schade was aus den Road Warriors geworden ist. Jarrett gegen Blackman war auch nichts besonderes. Mero ist ein Fuchs und bezwingt Sable. Kai En Tai gewinnt gegen Bradshaw und Taka und keinen interessierts. Rock gegen Faarooq leider etwas kurz für die Story dahinter. Kane gegen Vader geht in Ordnung. Die DX verliert doch überraschend gegen die Nation, aber das passt. Der Main Event war dann richtig stark und nochmal besser als beim PPV zuvor. Insgesamt ergibt das dann einen durchschnittlichen PPV."

[5.0] "Typischer Attitude Era B-PPV bestehend aus viel Murks in der Under- und Mdcard und einem herausragenden Main Event. LOD 2000 vs. DOA, Jarrett vs. Blackman, Kane vs. Vade waren allesamt nett anzuschauen ohne jedoch auch nur im mindesten zu glänzen. Die Lowloghts waren die Zwistigkeiten innerhalb der Mero Family wie auch Jerry Lawlers Assault auf die beiden Legenden Mad Dog Vachon und Krusher. Der Diebstahl des Beines stellt ein weiteres Lowlight in Lawlers WWE Karriere dar. War die Crowd bei Rock vs. Faarooq noch fast tot, belebt und bereichert sie den Main Event mit der Unterstützung der Rattlesnake."

[6.0] "Time hasn't been kind to this one thanks to a lot of recycled storylines over the past decade, but everything was fresh at the time. There really isn't that much to care about on the undercard, and the main event is available on the Foley disc. Still, the characters, and not the wrestling, drove the PPVs around this time, so it's a good bit of nostalgia. I'll be generous"

[4.0] "Der Main Event ist wirklich nicht schlecht und noch einmal besser als der Kampf im Vormonat. Der Rest der Show ist allerdings ziemlich langweilig bis belanglos, wobei die langgezogene und irgendwie auch völlig antiklimatische "Ehrung" von Mad Dog Vauchon und dem Crusher ihr übriges tut. Main Event sollte man mal gesehen haben, alles andere sieht man und vergisst es."

[5.0] "Standard Heel-Face Tag Match, total belanglos, 4/10. Jarrett gegen Blackman ist da keinen Deut besser, 4/10. Handicap Match aufgrund der Spots etwas besser, 5/10. IC Titelkampf wieder der berühmte Satz mit X, das war wohl nix. 4/10. Vader und Kane wenigstens mit etwas Brawling, allerdings bei gefühlten 15 statt 5 Minuten, 4/10. Kann man bis dato alles ansehen, ist aber recht langweilig. Das Six Man Tag ist sehr standard und einfach zu lange, 5/10. Mainer 8/10, mehr im Guide. Insgesamt keine wirklich gute Show, viele Filler, Undercard kann man skippen und nur der Mainer, der hervorsticht. Aber ein schlechtes Match findet man natürlich auch nicht unbedingt, waren hald so standard, 5 Punkte."

[6.0] "Insgesamt sehr solide. Das Handicap Match fand ich sehr stark, auch die beiden letzten Matches waren gut. Vor allem die Schlussphase im Main Event ist sehr wild! Auf jeden Fall einer der besseren IYH PPV's."

[4.0] "Main Event ist Top (besser als einen Monat vorher), Six Man Tag und das Two on Three Handicap (sehr unterhaltsam geworden) sind ganz brauchbar, aber der Rets zieht es mal wieder runter. Irgendwie wie die meisten IYH PPVS mehr Filler, als alles andere."

[6.0] "Insgesamt sehr solide. Man hatte 3 gute Matches und 5 schwache. Das Handicap Match fand ich sehr stark, auch die beiden letzten Matches waren gut. Vor allem die Schlussphase im Mainer ist sehr wild! Auf jeden Fall einer der besseren IYH PPV's."

[3.0] "Eine absolute One-Match-Show und für mich deshalb insgesamt sogar noch etwas schwächer als IYH: Unforgiven den Monat zuvor..."

[7.0] "Super Main-Event. Leider hat der PPV auch unattraktive Längen. Gerade vom DX-Match gegen die Nation hatte ich mit wesentlich mehr versprochen."

[7.0] "Grandioser Main Event, annehmbare Undercard. Einer der besseren In Your House Pay-Per-Views! Austin vs. Foley sollte man auf jeden Fall mal gesehen haben."

[4.0] "Ich bin fast geneigt zu sagen: der Main Event war richtig spitze! Aber davor war alles der übliche Trash wie er in den Jahren 97-99 in der Midcard vorherrschte."

[6.0] "Totale One Match Show, doch dieses Match ist eines der unterhaltsameren seiner Art! Der Rest der Show plätscherte so dahin, ohne wirklich schlecht oder gut zu sein."

[4.0] "Ein recht schwacher PPV! Ein guter Beginn mit dem Tag Team Match ... danach wurde es schlechter (Kane vs. Vader enttäuschte mich sehr), der Main Event an sich war gar nicht mal so schlecht!"
