[5.0] "As far as In Your House events go, this isn't an outstanding one, but you can do a lot worse here too. Like last month's event, the final two matches help save the show. Shamrock's in ring PPV debut against Vader is probably the most unique match, as it is very stiff and feels more realistic than most matches of this era. Taker/Austin have a solid title match too, though. The rest isn't downright horrible, but nothing really worth seeing. A pretty alright In Your House show, but nothing on it is required viewing."

[5.0] "For an In Your House, this show has some surprisingly solid stuff on it. Nothing here is outright bad other than making me watch Ahmed Johnson work three matches in one night. Vader vs. Ken Shamrock is the highlight here."

[6.0] "Just like the previous PPV which was a In Your House PPV too, only the last two matches were worth watching. The show kicked off with Flash Funk facing HHH, this was nothing special Hunter got the win with the help of Chyna with the commentary focusing on her this could easy be a weekly show match, Next was Rocky vs Mankind which was entertaining, both wrestlers did good and for only 8 minutes this was solid. The gauntlet match was next and this was the worst match of the show, it was pretty slow and i feel like if Ahmed just faced Farooq it would have been way better. Ken Shamrock vs Vader was very good, a nice stiff match with Ken making his PPV debut and doing a very good job same goes for Vader who put Ken over in a great way. Finally the main event was Austin vs Taker which was fun to watch, the Hart Foundation were in the front row seats with them pretty much causing Austin the title, the match ended with both wrestlers looking good even though Austin lost. Overall the last two matches are really worth watching the rest is pretty average and skippable."

[7.0] "Very strong debut match from Ken Shamrock vs Vader and a good main event take this show to a 7, with there being no truly bad matches on the card and it's a show which goes pretty fast. 1997 was an enjoyable year in general and a big step up in stories and in ring work"

[6.0] "Just like the previous In Your House, I found this show entertaining because of the last two matches carrying it with a surprisingly good MMA style Vader v Shamrock match because of all the stiff shots and Austin v Undertaker is a fun chaotic main because of the Hart Foundation on the front row. Of course shenanigans happen after the match because they always do. I thought HHH v Funk and Rocky v Mankind was both okay matches, but neither felt like they belonged on PPV and had zero build. Ahmed's gauntlet match has some good moments, but overall the match wasn't very good."

[4.0] "Triple H/Flash Funk is a nothing match with a few decent high spots from Funk and Chyna looking menacing could be a TV match at best (4/10) Mankind/Rock is also a fairly boring match with some decent Foley character work and a good Crossbody into Mandible Ccaw counter (4/10) The Gauntlet match is the word of the night. Some intensity by Ahmed but nothing else and it goes for way too long (3/10) Shamrock/Vader is a solid debut for Ken who looked really badass. It was stiff but also fairly disjointed at times (6/10) Taker/Austin has a decently hot start love Taker fighting in his entrance attire but after that it spends way too much time rest holds to be fun (5/10) A very underwhelming PPV"

[5.0] "It's an upgrade from the last In Your House, but it still didn't feel like a proper PPV. The opener was alright with Hunter once again working great as a heel and Funk being able to show off some of his athletic moveset. Mankind vs Rocky was nothing really - just an acceptable match with the most bland Dwayne Johnson you could get. Guantlet Match was a nice idea and I liked Savio getting himself disqualified so Faarooq can have an easier match, but the finish with Simmons not selling Ahmed's finisher put me off. Shamrock vs Vader was a pleasant surprise and the best match of the show with Vader working a different type of match, but still making everything look like a shoot and keeping things moving and exciting. And then the main event was also good, but like on last PPV Austin low blows his opponent right in front of the referee which threw me off. Decent match though with heel Bret at ringside who I love up to this point. Good show, average PPV."

[5.0] "A forgettable event, with just two good matches. The Undertaker vs Steve Austin disappointed me, it could have been better. The Gauntlet match betweed Johnson and the Nation of Domination lasted less than 15 minutes but it seemed longer. Shamrock vs Vader was watchable, with an expected ending (it was clearly scripted and not a pure MMA match). Rocky Maivia vs Mankind was the first in their series and it showed its good potential."
DanTalksRasslin wrote on 04.03.2019:
[4.0] "This one featured a solid Austin-Taker main event (though not nearly their best match), a decent HHH-Funk opener and an early encounter between the future Rock 'n' Sock Connection, which again wasn't their best match against each other but was still interesting to see and featured a clever finish. Vader vs. Shamrock existed, but Shamrock's in-ring skill wasn't quite cooked yet at this point, and the Ahmed Johnson gauntlet was an ok idea but not great in execution. Overall a watchable event but nothing to really recommend it as essential viewing."

[4.0] "Wow, this is a pretty lame In Your House. Almost WrestleMania 13 levels of painfully average bordering on bad. MOTN is Vader vs Shamrock by far, great story told and solid stiff as f**k action, one of the best debut matches ever in my opinion. Undercard isn't great (surprise, surprise) but I liked the Mankind/Rocky finish. Main event is also painfully average, great when Stone Cold is being Stone Cold and punching the shit out of Taker, but the rest is just REST HOLD after REST HOLD after SUBMISSION after REST HOLD. Didn't like it too much. Finish was okay and helped further the Hart Foundation angle. Eh, didn't like this much. Watch Vader vs Shamrock and nothing else."

Long and boring match with much overbooking. Ken vs Vader is very cool for technically not a wrestling match. Main event is not great or something like that but I can't call this match bad."

[6.0] "An average PPV that did have its enjoyable moments. The opening match between HHH and Flash Funk could have been on a standard episode of RAW, nothing really other than further establishing the team of Chyna and HHH. Mankind and Rocky put on a decent match; both solid workers, putting in enough to shine compared to the opening. The Gauntlet Match was a bit of a let down to be honest. The result was pretty obvious as the Nation of Domination as a whole is far more valuable than having them separated, especially at this point. The No Holds Barred Match between Ken Shamrock and Vader was a very enjoyable match, which isn't surprising as the Vader was involved. Vader was made to look like a monster again and because of the obvious finish with Shamrock prevailing, Shamrock is also built up to be a strong opponent moving forward. Following this was a good match between Stone Cold and The Undertaker, which was only elevated by the Hart Foundation being at ringside. At this point, nothing the Hart Foundation does can be bad, as the reaction the gather from the crowd is fantastic. The match ended the right way with nobody leaving the main event looking weak; Stone Cold could have won if it hadn't been for the Hart Foundation, and the Undertaker retains moving forward as a still dominant champion for now. The show deserves a 6/10 as the majority of the show was average but the final two matches in my opinion saved it from being a thoroughly forgettable show."
