[6.0] "The in-ring action was pretty solid, and there were no clunkers on the main card - a rarity for this era. But it felt like total filler content, with very little story progression beyond setting up yet another Undertaker "back from the dead" return and crowing a #1 contender for the world title. No Bret or HBK really hurts the star power. They have a group of guys on the way up, some of whom get there and some who don't, but the overall lack of true main event talent at this point is painfully obvious."

The rest of the show was decent too, which was mainly focused on promoting the curt henning match more, But the main event did the job. I hope the heavyweight title match wasnt dark, other than that, I enjoyed my 1 hour 50 minutes."

[6.0] "The undercard matches were fine, but nothing spectacular, with Austin vs. Helmsley being the best of the four. The whole event was really carried by the main event and even then it's no where near the best match between Taker and Mankind. 6/10"

[5.0] "Nothing bad on here, but nothing exciting either. AustinHelmsley starts off really slow and only picksup closer to the end but Perfect's interference stops it from getting properly good (5/10) The Tag title match is a slight improvement on their previous match together on PPV being a bit more Dynamic and with more Owen Hart ring time, still not amazing (5/10) Mero/Goldust has a few good highspots but its mostly a nothing match when Goldust is in control (5/10) Vader/Sid is as good as it could be in this era, Vader is not doing much of anything but Sid looked pretty hyped and was intense when he needed too (5/10) The Main event is best match with some good brawling and a lot of nice moves from Taker. Much better than the Boiler room brawl in my opinion. I still don't think its a great match though. The brawling segments do get tedious at times (6/10)"

[6.0] "It's a pretty decent In Your House with once again the main event being the best thing on the show, which is the way it should be. Austin and Hunter start the things off with a pretty good match with Stone Cold getting more and more over every month, even though he's technically a heel. Then unfortunately Owen & Bulldog vs The Smoking Gunns has the same problem that it had at the last PPV, which is a heel vs heel dynamic, making it tedious and with no hot tags to get the crowd going. Mero vs Goldust is a decent IC Title match with Marc showing some of his incredibly looking athletic abilities with a nice structure of the match. Then Sid proves once again that he's the most over guy in the company and even though the match isn't that special the crowd carries it by cheering for Sid for the whole contest. And the main event is obviously something fresh with Foley and Taker knowing exactly how to work this type of a stipulation. They brawl all around but are in the ring long enough to not make it look like garbage match, plus the furniture usage is minimalistic here. The end of the show is a little too long with heels having to bury The Undertaker, but at least it is quite climactic."

[5.0] "Fine show. Nothing terrible but nothing great so it just falls right in the middle. The stuff with JR and his mic not working at the start was really bad actually and took away from those opening matches. Did love takers hand coming out of the grave at the end even though the ending did go on a bit long."

[8.0] "A very enjoyable show with zero bad matches. It opened with a great match between HHH and Austin which also featured the debut of Austin's famous theme song. Followed by some solid matches and an absolute classic main event between Mankind and Taker."
Derek Joists wrote on 03.01.2022:
[6.0] "This was probably the best In Your House to date, with no bad matches and a majority of good ones - something rarely the case on any show at this point. The main event especially is worth seeking out, but the whole show is worth watching. The biggest downside was using JR as a heel, and the distractions from the first couple of matches that caused."

[8.0] "An enjoyable In Your House, the best so far. Austin vs Helmsley is very good opener. Tag team match is good too, I think that this match is better than at last IYH. Mero vs Goldast is okay. Sid vs Vader is only bad match on the show. Main event is awesome. Very brutal fight beetwen two bitter enemies. I didn't like the ending but overall it was a very good match."

[7.0] "It's almost interesting even without a World Championship match. Undertaker vs Mankind is perfect for the main event. Sid vs Vader is not really bad but uninspired and the tag team match was acceptable. Mero vs Goldust is okay. HHH vs Austin is a long opener with a good ending but a too slow match. The shoot promo of Jim Ross was bad and it did not work at all. Enjoyable event. Rewatch: I gave 6 points, now I give it 7, there are no bad matches."

[6.0] "The Buried Alive match was a nice brutal brawl between Taker and Mankind, and the concept behind the match was a good spectacle, as was the post-match angle culminating in the "buried" Undertaker's hand coming up from beyond the grave. Elsewhere the opener was a good match between the still-on-the-rise future stars Stone Cold and HHH (though they would go on to better encounters down the road), and Marc Mero and Goldust was pretty good too. Not a classic show, but for Undertaker and/or Foley fans the main is worth checking out as a solid chapter in their feud."
