[4.0] "For me, this was the weakest World Championship Wrestling I had seen up to this point, and it actually still stands as that; which is a shame considering this is the go-home episode for Starrcade 1985. I don't think they really did enough on this episode to get people excited for Starrcade; there was some decent promo but there was things missing here to make it matter; partly I think a really good match to lead into the event. My favourite part of this show was actually the parts where Ric Flair was on commentary; there wasn't so much and actual standout match or segment but Ric had the best performance of the night, including suplexing Sam Houston outside the ring. Black Bart vs Rocky King was my least favourite part of this show and I also didn't enjoy seeing Denny Brown here."

[8.0] "The last NWA show before Starrcade '85 and it's a pretty good one overall. The Challenge Series match delivers again as Manny Fernandez has a great showing against Buddy Landel. Barbarian also has a nice showing, and surprisingly Rocky King vs. Black Bart is far better than I expected. Some great promos and I love Flair psychotically attacking Sam Houston for his association with Dusty Rhodes at the end, tremendous."

[4.0] "Eine mäßige Show. Mit Ausnahme von Graham gegen Zane und mit Abstrichen dem Six Man Tag, gab es nur recht kurze Matches und einige Squashes. Flair und Rhodes gaben beide Interviews und der World Champion kostete Houston am Ende das Match, da er eingriff. Alle anderen Matches gewannen die Favoriten. Es gab viel Hype für Starrcade."
