[10.0] "Baszler Vs Cross is bad, but Black Vs Lars is pretty good, Dream Vs Ricochet is really fantastic and both UE Vs Danny and Oney and Ciampa Vs Gargano 2 street fight are really phenomenal. Overall NXT TakeOver: Chicago 2 (2018) is another really spectacular show in the book of NXT PLEs."

[6.0] "It was almost a good show, but the average matches between Shayna Baszler and Nikki Cross and Aleister Black and Lars Sullivan keep this at merely "fine". The street match had a rather weird ending, and although I'd give it the same score as the first two matches, it was probably the weakest of the three very good matches on this card."

[7.0] "A show that starts strong and finishes well, but was for me, the weakest TakeOver of 2018. The main event was good, although I would consider this to be the weakest of their trilogy, with the final third of the match in particular being overly dramatic and not what I personally look for from pro wrestling. UE vs Burch & Lorcan was MOTN and all men came out of it looking good, whilst Ricochet vs Dream ended well after a mediocre first half. The rest of the show however was disappointing and the NXT title match has to be a contender for the dullest NXT title match to take place at a TakeOver."

[9.0] "The tag title match was great, Ricochet carried Velveteen Dream to an excellent match, and the main event was beyond incredible. The downsides to this show, that prevent it from getting a 10, where that neither the women's title match nor the NXT title match were anything special. In fact, the NXT title match really shined a light on how neither Black nor Sullivan are as good as people think they are."

[10.0] "Top class show from top to bottom. O'Reilly/Strong vs Burch/Lorcan - ****1/4 Great start to the show with a hot opener. Lorcan has intensity few have in this business, Dream vs Ricochet - ***** Dream is a future world champion and Ricochet is a human highlight reel, Shayna vs Nikki - ***1/4 Abrupt end stopped an otherwise excellent match with Shayna showing palpable improvement, Black vs Lars - **** A botched Black mass aside, it was as good a title match as you can expect, Gargano vs Ciampa - ****1/2 Another great war between these two, I was thinking they legit hated each other at times although the stretcher spot dragged on too long."

[9.0] "Opening and closing as strong as this show does really makes it a classic. Two of the best matches of the year. Dream vs Riccochet was great. Unfortunately women's match and NXT title match didn't live up to expectations. Great commentors. Really fun and enjoyable show."

[9.0] "The main event served as another excellent chapter in the surely-still-ongoing feud between the former #DIY members, the Black vs Sullivan match exceeded expectations, Ricochet vs Dream was a fun clash of characters as well as great in-ring action (gotta love how after ditching the Hogan gear, his outfit actually consisted of Prince Puma's tights as a shot at Ricochet's past), and the opener was great tag team action. The Women's Title match was the weak link - not awful, but Baszler's ring work still has a ways to go. While it didn't quite rise to the standard set by TakeOver: New Orleans, this one came pretty close."

[9.0] "9. 5/10. The opening tag match was almost as good as it gets for that sort of match. Not since the No Mercy 02 tag can I remember such workrate at a pace so strong. Well maybe it's been more recent but point being =deserves a rating of **** 3/4. I've only given under 50 matches that rating and I've rated pretty much everything. The main event was the 2nd best at **** 1/2, and Ricochet and the Dream was third best at a very high **** 1/4. The women's matches in NXT haven't been grerat since Asuka left, it's certainly NOT BAD but. I gave ** 1/2, and while Lars Sullivan and AB's characters both leave something to be desired (to me) despite the 2 botches and slow start, this one worked. This was VERY comparable to the WWE Title LMS match in terms of a couple botches, a slow start but enough amazing moments as it went on to put it into great territory just not as great as AJ_SN, Black's offense and timing made this work. ****. Overall another hit for Triple H and NXT. Another Big Hit! ."

[10.0] "Fantastic show as usual. Tag title match was awesome. Knew it'd be great but damn was it amazing ****1/4. Ricochet/Dream was incredible with fantastic storytelling. Amazing pacing and action with each nearfall built up so well ****1/2. Shayna/Cross was really good fast paced action ***3/4. Black/Lars was great and made both guys look really good ****. Gargano/Ciampa to no surprise was incredible. Amazing sequel that I think lacked a bit of the story the first had to make it 5*, but had every bit as great action. Great end to keep both strong and the feud going ****3/4. What a show"

[8.0] "Opener: ****. If Mauro would have been calling this and the Chicago crowd would have cooperated, this would have been better. Still a great tag match. Crowd just wanted to cheer Undisputed, which definitely hurt the match. Dream/Ricochet: ****1/8. Mauro was missed again. Why was Dream in Hulk Hogan cosplay? He's not exactly the office favorite in Stamford right now. Maybe it was a test. Anyway, this was a great match by the end. I thought for a lot of it it was just good. The last few minutes told a great story. Shayna/Nikki: ***1/4. This was kinda weak, but it kinda had had to be with the story they were trying to tell. I thought this was good. Lars/Black: ***1/2. This crowd is terrible. This was pretty good and It told a good story. This crowd crapped on stuff all night. The worst kind of "Smart" fans were in this crowd. Ugh. Main event : ****1/3. This was brutal to say the least. Very long, but they had ALOT of stuff planned so it had to be that long. There last match was better, but based on the finish there will be a third match, which i consider unfortunate. Great show. Never been anything less than a great takeover. I wouldn't put this show up there with the very best takeover's, but a great show nonetheless."

[6.0] "It was good event but had major problems, the NXT title match has lots of botches and bad camera angles, the NXT women's title match was good until the end, the tag match was perfect wouldn't change a thing, the match between Velveteen Dream and Ricochet was good but I would rather watch someone else fight ricochet. The street fight was amazing, the only thing I miss is the blood which would have made it feel so much more realistic."

[9.0] "Another huge hit with this NXT TakeOver. Everything is good to great except for Baszler vs Cross which I didn't like at all. Tommaso Ciampa vs Johnny Gargano is impressive, really solid brawl with some crazy spots and a strong conclusion. Black vs Sullivan works fine, Ricochet vs Velveteen Dream is a long and entertaining match that seems to never end. The tag team match is a good opener, this is another NXT event that is a must see."

[8.0] "The tag match, Ricochet vs Velveteen and Ciampa vs Gargano are all ****1/2 to ****3/4 to me, but the NXT Championship match was a ***1/2 at most, I don't know how this is possible, Aleister Black can be an amazing wrestler, but this is his second disappointing NXT Takeover match... The women's match was terrible though, to me it isn't worth much more than **. So an incredible undercard and main event, but two underwhelming championship matches in the middle of the show."

[9.0] "Roddy & Kyle vs. Oney & Burch was an absolutely fantastic match - all 4 guys killed it (****), Ricochet/Dream was a good match that told a fun story (***1/4), Shayna/Nikki was the worst match of the night, but even then it was still pretty good - very wacky dynamic in it (**3/4), Aleister/Sullivan was a very solid David vs. Goliath battle w/ Aleister bumping his ass off & delivering the good offense with his strikes (***), Ciampa/Gargano was such a positive surprise - I hated their previous match, but this was so much better than that one - they actually sold the hatred for each other in superb fashion here (****). Overall, NXT delivers once again. Not surprised to say the least."

[10.0] "Four fantastic matches and Baszler/Cross was decent as well. That tag opener was incredible, what a star making performance from Lorcan and Burch. But TUE cling on. Ricochet/Dream told a great story of "whatever you can do I can do better" with Dream successfully getting into Ricochet's head but Ricochet still pulling off the victory - the right decision. Black/Lars was booked to perfection as well with Sullivan looking like an absolute destroyer but Black overcoming the odds, needing two black mass's to put him down. And the main event was a five star follow up to their NOLA classic. Innovation, call backs, drama, a super hot crowd. It had everything."

[9.0] "Awesome show. At the beginning of the show, I was very surprised by the first match. Fantastic opener ****1/2. The second match was also very good. Ricochet and Dream worked well together and showed a quality match ****1/2. The women's match was not as good as the previous matches, but it's also not bad ***1/4. The match for the NXT championship was not bad ***3/4 or ****. In the main event the show was once again Gargano and Ciampa who showed another masterpiece match *****."

[9.0] "A step down from NOLA, but still quite a great show as expected. Opener was awesome with Lorcan and Burch proving that they deserved a spot on this show, ****1/2. Ricochet vs Dream started a bit rocky, but turned out to be quite a fun match, ****1/4. Womens match is weakest match of the night again, but still another good showing from Bazler, ***1/2. Lars vs Black was good, but there was some weird chemistry going on here, ***3/4. Main event was on it's way to becoming a classic, until that overbooking mess at the end, ****1/2."

[2.0] "The tag team opener was good until Adam Cole got involved. Felt disrespected when Velveteen Dream came out in attire like Hulk Hogan which I'm guessing was a rip on Hulk Hogan's racist comments, switched to something else on WWE Network. The Nikki Cross/Baszler match was good until the finish. This was the same finish they have used over & over for this event. Bayley lost her title in this fashion. Nikki Cross deserved to be NXT Women's Champion not that bully Shayna Baszler. Nikki Cross sold very well in this match disappointed in the end. Didn't watch anymore of the event after that finish. Complete fail. This was the second NXT Takeover that I watched was a failure. I see Aleister Black retained. He was the only good win in this event. Money In The Bank needs to be great tomorrow if it isn't WWE needs new writers cause this is complete lately."
