207.02.2020Paul Allain6.0The Scramble Match was fun and fresh, but way too short, followed by the stale interference form Storm Of Entrails, then an insipid tag team match that felt nondescript. Reynolds/Silver was a fine wrestling match, a good start for their long term feud. Clumsily seguing into FEAR/Gangones was a pretty mindless match for a mediocre feud. Kit/Del build up slowly but became quite engrossing, with the title change feeling quite climactic and noteworthy. REP/Party capitalized on their chemistry and history, making for a great title defense that boosts the show's quality tremendously. Penelope/Leyla had potential for Leyla Hirsch's debut, but it went the lazy route and had Penelope Ford dominate a short, boring and sloppy match that helps nobody. Awakening/Office was clean, but terribly insipid and woefully uninteresting. Gresham/Dezmond was much needed quality wrestling, a true breath of fresh air that help the show get to the ending while entertaining the crowd with smart and precise wrestling, using their skills very well and giving a huge victory to Dezmond Xavier, grooming him to be a big deal if they ever pull the trigger on his singles career. Rickey/Tremont was a decent, if unimaginative hardcore main event, that helps cement the title reign of Rickey Shane Page, while the angle with Brandon Kirk might give him a real clear footing in the combat zone. This a good albeit uneven show that struggled to find an identity, but provide many different solid bouts of wrestling and managed to make a few key players look good, not the worst way to debut a new venue for CZW.
414.05.2018rykejamal5.0Im a little generous with this rating because of a couple of matches that saved this show. Sure, the setting and the venue was a nice change from the norm but the show was just as average as the 19th anniversary show. The event was saved by the Medal of Valor match, Gresham vs. Xavier and Reynolds vs. Silver. An extra point goes for the aftermath of the main event, which as a match was disappointing because you would expect something big from the two names involved and the World title being on the line. Overall, another average show in 2018. Hopefully its only a slow start to the year and not a recurring issue.

603.03.2018Reptilian4.0The venue and lighting was "smokey" and chaotic which made the overall product less enjoyable than the other better produced NJ/Philly shows. Still cool that CZW tours at different places. Most undercard matches felt like low risk routine performances or simple fillers. So many multi man matches where everyone just tries to get their sh*t in one after another. Penelope Ford vs Layla Hirsch got a good reaction and it shows that the crowd wanted to see something different after those tag matches and one Dojo Wars title match. Six Man Tag (**½) I don´t know what they are trying to do with this House of Gangone stuff. Brandon Kirk & DJ Hyde vs The Awakening (**¾) DJ Hyde being a "mystery partner" for the tag match did not help to fire up the crowd at all. Had some good moments. Match did its job. Short energetic spot heavy tornado tag. Alex Reynolds vs John Silver(**¾-***) and Dezmond Xavier vs Jonathan Gresham(***¼) imo the best matches. The main event (**½) was disappointingly short for a ME title match. It was not bad for a short match, but it was too generic RSP, either it wasn´t Tremont at his best. Because it was babyface vs babyface and lacked heat, they should have at least delivered more depth and surprising content. Proportioned to the expectations, the show was imo slightly better than Nineteen, even though this one had worse production. Greetings From Asbury Park continues the line of bland routine shows that have been going on since the Wolf Of Wrestling -show last year. CZW needs to get back on the track with interesting, entertaining big effort shows! At least the final segment with Tremont, DJ and Kirk was really good and felt genuine.
