[4.0] "Tatanka, as shown in a pre-match clip, is clearly in it for the money--while his old rival has no trouble with the second Executioner. The following match has its roots, among other things, in the previous week--Lawler loses by countout to his arch-enemy, the Garbage Man. Not entirely blameless for the outcome of this somewhat grueling match is the little buddy of another of the King's rivals--namely, the little pain in the ass Dink. The Heavenly Bodies handle it with complete composure. Bob Backlund in an interview--the guy has lost his mind and is no longer socially acceptable. It's an interesting move to push Backlund into the contender spot, since his past on the undercard somehow makes him seem unlikely as a threat. At least the small print journalist Lou Gianfriddo gets to experience Backlund's new attitude up close. Painful. The next match is just as painful for Richie Rich, but even more so for Phil Apollo. And after the Yoko match, the Undertaker's revenge is hinted at with the sound of the gong, signaling a return to where things left off at the Royal Rumble. Not a really good episode, but pretty okay when it comes to Backlund."

[5.0] "There aren't any great matches on this show, but I feel like the Lawler match is getting shit on unnecessarily. And dare I say that Lawler has been carrying the WWF, at least on Raw, for most of 1994. I think he shows clearly in this match why he's such a great "wrestler". He isn't technically great, but he is a great entertainer and in ring story teller. By all means a Lawler/Dumpster match should not be match of the night or close to it, but at no point was I bored, and he had the crowd involved for the entire 10+ minutes pre match, match, and post match. Dumpster could have been switched out with literally anyone and Lawler could have made this match entertaining. Between matches like this and the Kings Court segments, Lawler clearly has been the most consistent entertainer for 1994, admitting here that the bar is not very high for that endorsement but that's a different story. The luger match had a ton of energy, as his theme song fucking rocks and the crowd REALLLLLLLLLY wants to cheer for him. But it's a squash match and not a very good one. The heavenly bodies match had a lot of fun spots but it was all offense and calling it a squash is an understatement. Half of the other team never even got into the ring so they could have been beating up on a crash test dummy and got the same exact result. The Bob Holly match is boring but interesting to see him being referred to as Bob "Spark Plug" Holly instead of "Sparky Plug" lol could Sparky Plug be the shortest lived character in WWF history? I wonder what made them give up on that so quickly? Yokozuna match was trash as well. Lots of people here are talking about the Bob Backlund segment and I read about it before I watched it, and I was thinking no way was it that good as people are saying, but yeah it's awesome and he did a great job being a fucking psycho. I'd probably rate this show higher than a 5 but this is the 2nd Raw after Summerslam and there is zero fallout from the major PPV that comes across in-ring, which makes sense since this episode was taped over a month and a half before it was aired. I guess I'm just disappointed in the lack of continuity. Trying to put myself in my 1994 shoes as if I was watching everything in order, in real time, and I'd have been super disappointed in this episode since it was so long after the PPV and they're still acting as if it didn't happen. I mentioned it in the comment on last week's Raw but it's the same shit here and to me the WWF really fucked up around this time not fully able to grasp the concept that Raw would eventually flourish being an episodic television show and not simply "show some wrestling". Obviously they figure this out in a couple years but it's painful because they're sooooo close but just can't help themselves from shooting themselves in the foot."

[4.0] "a below average raw saved by the brilliant bob backlund segement by the matches were very poor a 4/10"

[5.0] "While the wrestling wasn't exactly exceptional, the squashes were all pretty solid for what they were. Luger in particular had an energetic showing. Lawler vs Droese was fun for anybody who likes Lawler's style of wrestling, but unfortunately felt a bit underdeveloped thanks to a weak finish. The real reason to watch this show was Bob Backlund's interview segment, which was terrific. I am a huge fan of Backlund's work in this era and thought he really carried this week's episode, earning it an extra point from me thanks to the strength of his promo and overall character work."

[3.0] "This was an underwhelming RAW. Nothing of note in the squash matches and Dumpster vs Lawler dragged due to it being mainly uneventful until the finish. Highlight of the night was by far Psycho Bob Backlund"

[5.0] "Average Raw for the era. 4 quick but mostly average matches, and a slightly longer match with Lawler and "the Dumpster", however nothing spectacular. Bob Backlund had a decent interview/promo segment with Vince. But not enough to boost the episode."

[5.0] "An average RAW overall, mostly carried by the awesome Bob Backlund's interview segment where he put a random WWF Magazine dude in a Chickenwing. Randy Savage thinking Backlund was gonna take on Vince at first had me burst out laughing. The rest didn't do much for me, unfortunately. Lawler/Duke was about what you'd expect from this silly feud, and the squashes were solid but ultimately unspectacular."

[6.0] "An ok show afterall. Bad in ring action, but at least Lawler vs. The Dumpster wasn't a squash. Bob Backlund's promo was quite good, as he destroyed a poor writer from the WWF magazine and issues a challenge. Whoever escapes from his Crossface Chikenwing gets Backlund to retire. I really hope this thing won't turn into a series of "Chikenwing Challenges" and that Backlund gets a real opponent from the beginning of this storyline. It looks like Fake Undertaker is gone for good and Taker's attention is focused on Yokozuna. Oh, and now I can say that I hate Bob Holly since 1994, that's quite a good thing!"
