Die 2 GHC Tag Matches waren solide, aber nichts besonderes, genauso wie auch Sugiura gegen Moose. Die 2 folgenden Matches jedoch waren enorm stark. Das Junior Heavyweight Match war technisch gesehen das beste Match an diesem Abend, aber der Main Event hat dieses Match sogar nochmal übertrumpft. Kenous Titelgewinn war im Grunde nur noch eine Formalität trotzdem wurde es gegen Ende nochmal richtig spannend. Die Crowd war auch die ganze Veranstaltung über gut involviert und alles in allem bleibt am Ende ein guter Eindruck von dieser Veranstaltung zurück. |
| 4 | 02.01.2018 | DerHitman | 7.0 | Kabukis Retirement Match ist nicht gut, aber es ist gut, dass es stattgefunden hat. Das zweite Match ist nicht gut, und auch das dritte nicht. So geht es auch bis zu Moose vs. Sugiura weiter, die beiden zeigen ein gutes solides Match. Man hat hier zwar gute Wrestler auf der Card, aber die stehen immer gegen Leute mit denen ich nichts anfangen kann. Mit Harada und Tanaka kann ich allerdings immer etwas anfangen - sehr geiles Match ****. Kenou ist mit diesem Match auch vollends bei mir angekommen. Ich hoffe er kann die lebende Arche tragen. Edwards wäre ein toller Regular Gaijin, er gefällt mir hier viel besser als bei Impact ****1/2. Die beiden letzten Matches machen die Show halt schon zum Must See. Bin irgendwie zwischen 6 & 7 Punkten. |

Das Abschiedsmatch für The Great Kabuki iat nett, aber Go Shiozaki wirkt an dieser Stelle der Card verschwendet. Beide Tag Team Title Match und Moose Gastauftritt sind solide. Die letzten beiden Matches ziehen die Show aber nochmal ordentlich nach oben. Zwei wirklich tolle Title Matches, wo mir Harada vs. Tanaka einen Tick besser gefallen hat als der Main Event. |
| 9 | 27.12.2017 | CmNag66 | 9.0 | Sehr starke Show von NOAH zum Jahresabschluss. Der Abschied vom Great Kabuki war gut und emotional gemacht. Die folgende Undercard der Show ist dann grundsolide und ab dem Jr. Tag Title Match wurde es dann immer besser. Yo-Hey und Hayata sind zurecht total over bei der Crowd und machen auch hier wieder einen tollen Job. Das folgende Heaviweight Tag Title Match ist auf einem ähnlich gute Niveau. Moose vs. Sugiura ist dann nochmal was völlig anderes, funktioniert aber überraschend gut. Die beiden Main Events waren dann absolute Spitze Harada und Tanaka zaubern einen technischen Leckerbissen auf die Matte und zeigen wie großartig Jr. Wrestling in Japan 2017 sein kann. ****1/4 Der Main Event setzt dann nochmal einen oben drauf mit einem sehr intensiv geführten Match bei dem Eddie Kenohs Brust einfach mal völlig mit Chops zerstört. Die Endphase ist dann sehr dramatisch geführt mit einigen sehr impactreichen Moves und vielleicht ein wenig overbooking am Ende aber egal ein absolut göttlicher Main Event. ****1/2 Großartige Show von NOAH welche weiter auf dem richtigen Weg sind, mit zwei fantastischen Main Events. |

The first few matches were perhaps hampered by the length of The Great Kabuki's retirement ceremony, but all are fine undercard bouts and said-ceremony was heart-warming; particularly the appearances of Kawada, Fujinami + Kojika and the involvement of Kabuki's family. Everything from the Junior Tag Title match onward is worth your time, with the exception of a slight yet noticeable dip in quality for 50FP vs. Marufuji/Taniguchi - primarily due to storyline shenanigans - though I should mention I was ultimately happy with the end result character-wise. The main event is utterly fantastic and one of my favourite matches of 2017: both Kenou and Edwards really put an immense amount of effort into this and it completely paid off. Moving forward, Kiyomiya vs. Kenou is incredibly interesting - playing off of their statuses at the beginning of the year when they were both aligned with Sugiura's outsider/misfit group. |

Back Breakers vs Morohasi/Tadasuki - **1/2; 3. Hall/Jean vs Nakajima/Kitamiya - **3/4; 4. XX/Kotoge vs LEONA/Nagai/Miyamoto - **3/4 - Three very standard, opening tag matches. Nothing special, all are short and that's really all that can be said for each. 5. RATELS's vs Gurukan Mask/Shuri Joe - GHC Tag - ***1/4; 6. Yone/Storm vs Taniguchi/Marufuji - GHC Jr. Tag - ** - Not sure what happened here, but I was really bored during this whole thing. Everyone looked like they were moving at half speed. 7. Moose vs Sugiura - ***1/2; 8. Harada vs Tanaka - GHC Jr HW - ****; 9. Edwards vs Kenou - GHC HW - ****; |

Kabuki's retirement match was honestly one of the worst matches I've ever seen. Far too many old guys who could barely wrestle while poor Shiozaki had to sell for them. Terrible opener followed by a very long post-match ceremony. 1/2*. The next 3 matches were all tags and relatively good but not given enough time. They were always building up well before abruptly ending, which was very disappointing. All were about **1/4-**1/2. I would have rather had these matches given the time taken up by Kabuki's match and retirement ceremony. Hayata & Yo-hey vs Guruken Mask & Shuri Joe was fine. Nice high flying from the RATEL'S boys, Joe with some okay strikes and brawling, and Guruken with some decent acrobatics. ***. Yone & Storm vs Marufuji & Taniguchi was as bad as their Global League finals match. Yone and Taniguchi were both very boring, Storm came off as playing a wrestler character rather than actually wrestling, and Marufuji just hit his signature spots without much importance to them. Taniguchi's heel turn was interesting, but executed rather poorly. Annoying interference led into the finish. **1/2. Moose vs Sugiura was the first good match of the show. Moose used his size and power well while Sugiura gave a good display of endurance and passion as he eventually cut Moose down. ***1/2. Harada vs Tanaka was awesome and MOTN. An explosive match with great energy, psychology, strikes, submission holds, selling, near falls, pretty much everything. The only stand-out from this show. ***3/4-****. Edwards vs Kenou was alright, but disappointing as a main event and as the moment of Kenou finally claiming NOAH's top title. Solid chemistry and nice strikes but even at 23 minutes it felt like they didn't properly build up into their 'big drama' spots. Some convincing near falls at least. Awesome that Kiyomiya returned to challenge Kenou too. ***1/2 |

It was a great back and forth battle and it was bittersweet seeing Kenou win the GHC Title. I would have liked to see Edwards have a longer reign with the belt, but we will see how Kenou does as the top guy in Pro Wrestling Noah. This match wasn't as good as Edwards VS Nakajima or Nakajima VS Cage, but it is a fun main event that you should go out of your way to check out. |
