[8.0] "Another great NJPW show . Multiple great matches culminating with another excellent main event . Maybe a tad under the normal big show standard but no bad matches . They continue to produce exciting big shows and big matches . And Tanahashi , even in his state is still amazing . My top match was Hiroshi Tanahashi (c) vs. Kota Ibushi ."

"I like the dark match. I hate the match of the Young Bucks, i find it's a bad spotfest. And I feel the same way about Super Junior Tag Tournament Match, in fact it's even worse. The six-man tag and the 1st ten-man tag are uninteresting. But I kinda like the multi man tag with Okada and Naito because I feel the tension ring between them, they seem to be interesting opponents. Suzuki/Yano is enjoyable even if there are some more boring moments. I don't like Ospreay/Scrull. Beretta/Omega is not really bad but it's forgettable and uninteresting. I like Jericho's performance. The main event is very good. For more details, read my review of the match. The guy who confronts Tanahashi after the match is really uninteresting. So, I don't recommend the show except if you like spotfests. If I were you, i'd just watch the main event and the bullrope match."

[8.0] "Very good card overall. Notably, the Tanahashi-Ibushi match was a masterpiece of in-ring psychology and selling on the part of both men, with Tanahashi's already-injured arm and the work done on his neck during the match, and Ibushi getting his knee injured early on, all coming into play. Nice emotional ending to the match as well. Omega vs Beretta was also very strong and should go a ways towards establishing Beretta as a singles star in the heavyweight division. Scurll vs Ospreay featured lots of good action as well, and the tag matches were all fine (I especially liked Roppongi 3K vs ACH/Taguchi). The only real letdown was the Suzuki vs Yano bullrope bout. The show also featured lots of angles intended to help set up the top matches for WrestleKingdom (notably, the Jericho video), and did a good job of that."

[7.0] "Big show from New Japan! Semi-disappointing atmosphere, which held down an otherwise strong effort. 3 or 4 matches that’s definitely worth seeing and a lot of stuff to get you hyped for the Tokyo Dome some. David Finlay -vs- Katsuya Kitamura [* 1/4], Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson -vs- Dragon Lee & Titan [** 1/2], Juice Robinson & Jushin Thunder Liger & Tiger Mask & KUSHIDA & Hirai Kawato -vs- Zack Sabre Jr. & Yoshinobu Kanemaru & Taka Michinoku & Taichi & El Desperado [**], Togi Makabe & Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Satoshi Kojima -vs- Cody & Yujiro Takahashi & Chase Owens [* 1/2], SHO & YOH -vs- Ryusuke Taguchi & ACH – (Super Jr. Tag Tournament – Final) [** 1/4], Kazuchika Okada & Hirooki Goto & Tomohiro Ishii & YOSHI-HASHI & Gedo -vs- Tetsuya Naito & “King of Darkness” EVIL & SANADA & BUSHI & Hiromu Takahashi [** 1/2], Minoru Suzuki (c) -vs- Toru Yano – (NEVER Openweight Title, Bullrope Death Match) [** 3/4] Yano like a trapped animal tied to the sadistic predator Minoru Suzuki! What’s not to love? ! Will Ospreay (c) -vs- Marty Scurrl – (IWGP Junior Title) [***], Kenny Omega (c) -vs- Beretta – (IWGP US Title) [*** 1/2], Hiroshi Tanahashi (c) -vs- Kota Ibushi – (IWGP Intercontinental Title) [*** 3/4]"

Undercard was really good and the top 3 matches were unbelievably good, just that Suzuki/Yano match, man, it was awful. Outside of that there was something for everyone, lucha, storytelling, junior stuff, a really good Jr. Tag final. Probably top 3 events of the year and that's saying a hell of a lot."

[9.0] "The dark match was your typical young lion nothing match but Kitamura did look good. (1/2*) The opener was a total spotfest, it was fine (**) The Suzuki-gun ten-man tag match was surprisingly more enjoyable than I expected. (**) Unfortunately the Bullet club six-man tag was just as boring as I thought it would be. (*) The Super Junior Tag Finals was a good match, The Young Bucks challenging the champs after was no surprise. (***1/4). The crowd was hot for the CHAOS/LIJ match and made it much better, Naito as usual was the best part of the match. (***1/4) The NEVER title match sucked, I was hoping for a more fun Yano type match but it was the usual bullshit Suzuki match. How the hell did Gedo think giving them 15 minutes was a good idea? (*) The Junior title changing hands was quite the surprise, really good match too. I expected a triple treat for WK but I don't mind a fatal four way. (****) Kenny Omega shows the world once again that when he is on he is the best in the world and big props to Baretta for delivering in his first big match. And then CHRIS FUCKING JERICHO challenged Omega for the Tokyo Dome afterwards. (****1/2) The main event was an absolute classic and easily the best match Tanahashi and Ibushi has had against each other. Jay White is revealed to be switchblade and challenges Tana for Wrestle Kingdom. (****3/4) Way better show than I expected with New Japan throwing quite a few curve-balls in the build to WK12."

[9.0] "I thought this show was a lot better than KOPW. Opener was fun, then next 2 matches were fine. Jr tag final was very good, great selling by ACH. LIJ/CHAOS was fun tag as usual. Never title was awful, went too long. Sorry, Suzuki's reign needs to end ASAP. Completely devalued the title. Last 3 matches were all excellent. Ospreay/scurll delivered and post match was fun. Omega/berretta was great. Berretta bumped like crazy man. Y2J's challenge was completely surprising. Main event was phenomenal with great storytelling and surprisingly good selling from ibushi. White challenging the ic title was another surprise. Overall a 9 for the show with a lot of building up and surprise for WK12."

[9.0] "Finlay/Kitamura: ***. Good little match. Bucks/Dragon & Titan: ***1/4. Good match. Nice new Tag team submission move by the Bucks. RPG 3k/ Super 69: ***1/2. Just kept going but still very good by the end. ACH is no Ricochet. Ten man: ***1/2. Very good as usual. NEVER title match: **3/4. Way too much BS. Bu but by he end it was ok. It was bad for a lot of it but by the end it wasn't. Jr title match: ****1/4. Very exciting match. These 2 have have wrestled a thousand times, and each time its worth going out of your way to see. Great match. US title match: ****1/4. Fantastic. Easily Beretta's best single match. Very fun. Post match gave us something very interesting. Main Event: ****3/4. I though this match was tremendous. The great thing about this show is that the top 3 matches were all awesome, and all were totally different from each other. Fantastic show."

[9.0] "Bucks vs Lee & Titan was energy opening match, ***1/2. 8 man tag was 5 minutes of fun, ***. Tenkoji vs Bullet Club was skipable. Super junior Tag tournament finale was super-entertaining, exactly as it should be, ****. CHAOS vs LIJ part 458 wasn't memorable but wasn't bad, ***. Suzuki/Yano - I need a Forget-Me-Shot. Scurll vs Ospreay was weakest match of their series, I hope that these two will never again wrestled each other in singles match, ***1/2. Omega vs Beretta - holy fuck! Beretta surprise me and show me that he's worth checking. Amazing match with star making performance by Beretta, ****1/4. After-match segment with Jericho challenged Kenny Omega was absolutely phenomenal a I will never forget this promo. Tanahashi vs Ibushi wasn't bad at any terms. It had a lot of drama and good storytelling, but Ibushi selling for me was ridiculous at some points. Still great main event, ****1/4. I'm looking forward to Jay White match for IC title at Wrestle Kingdom, I think it would be another star-making performance. Overall really enjoyable show. 8. 5/10"

[8.0] "Just a smooth show from start to finish. Bucks vs Titan/Lee was short but really fun, ***3/4. Eight man was surprisingly good for a SZGN tag match, ***1/2. BC vs TenKoji and Makabe was whatever, ***. 3K vs Super 69 was a really good showing for the champs, ****. LIJ vs CHAOS tag was good as those matches usually are, ***3/4. Suzuki vs Yano was as bad as I thought it was gonna be, **. Scurll vs Ospreay wasn't as good as I had hoped, but it was still fun, ****. Beretta impressed greatly thanks to his opponent, ****1/4. Main event went too long, but was still pretty awesome, ****1/2."

[9.0] "The pre-show match was fine. It's time to do something with Kitamura. The proper opener was good, but it was never gonna reach the usual levels of Bucks' matches, considering how little time they had. The next two matches served their purpose of getting evryone on the show. Roppongi 3K vs ACH/Taguchi was very good, but it was probably Roppongi's weakest match so far. CHAOS vs LIJ was as good as always. It's more or less the same match every time. Suzuki vs Yano wasn't good. I love MiSu, but I'm tired of his bullshit filled matches. This reign needs to end. Scurll and Ospreay have great chemistry so their matches never really dissapoint. This one was also very good, but probably one of the weaker meetings between them. I liked the finish, though. Never saw it coming. The top two matches were incredible. Trent got a chance to shine with a lot of eyes on him and he absolutely killed it. The way he played an underdog who is willing to put everything on the line, just to prove he belongs, was amazing. Add Kenny murdering him with suplexes and knee strikes and you get a wonderful match. And then the post match... I marked out like a child. Fantastic stuff. As good as the US title match was, Ibushi vs Tanahashi was on another level. The intensity was off the charts. The striking exchanges were absolutely crazy. This was everything I love about pro wrestling. Overall, the show wasn't as good as WK or Dominion, but it's still one of the best events you'll find this year."

[9.0] "Really great show. Bucks/Titan+Lee was a really fun opener ***1/2. SG/Seki was decent **1/4. BC/Makozy was alright **1/2. RPG3k/69 was great ***3/4. LIJ/CHAOS was good ***1/2. Suzuki/Yano was pretty good ***1/4. Scurll/Ospreay was fantastic. Suffered a bit because the crowd was quiet but it was a great match ****. Omega/Trent was awesome. Knew it'd be great and it lived up ****1/4. Jericho at WK is going to be sick! Tana/Ibushi was absolutely incredible. Imo their best, surpassing G1 25 and G1 27. Amazing action ****3/4. Not a huge fan of Jay so I hope he really brings it at WK in such a big match. Overall fantastic show and great setup for WK12"
