[8.0] "The first big show after the exodus of Misawa and the others, which in my opinion was exceptional at best. My fav matches were Liger/Fuchi, the battle royal, Mutoh/Kea and the main event. But of course my favorite part was Stan Hansen's retirement cerimony which moved me to tears. The ballad version of Sunrise playing during his entrance, where for the first time, the Lariat came walking calmly to the ring, not running, not whipping the fans with his cowbell or causing fear and euphoria, but instead, he came out smiling, and waving at everyone with happiness and gratitude. It was so beautiful, even Kawada was moved to tears, because he knew that after that, there would be no more Stan Hansen, no more crazy matches and no more old guard in this new AJPW."

[4.0] "This show was just dedicated to stan hansen who was retiring without wrestling that night, although he should have, but it's fine for him not to. This show has nothing special in terms of wrestling, new japan burying all japan in their own show is nothing new. Onita and funk teaming up maybe a fun concept, but was a mess of a match with kimala and abdullah, and the main event tho being the match of the night lack any sort of excitement. But what save the show was obviously the retirement ceremony of stan hansen, who came out very calmly and the ceremony was one of the beautiful things I have seen. And this show reminded the hollow spot all japan were on that time since Baba's death and misawa's exodus."

[6.0] "This was a good show with some great matches. I recommend to see Santo & Mascaras vs Panther y Arkangel; Liger vs Fuchi; Muto vs Kea and the main event."

[5.0] "This was by a significant margin the weakest AJPW Dome show to date, as you might expect, but it's not a total loss. Slow start, but there were things I liked about the first six matches, like old man Fujiwara (him and Duk have old man heat for some reason), the AJPW return of Mascaras (nice to see him and Destroyer convening afterward), and the decent AJPW vs BattlArts fourth match. Liger vs Fuchi was the 2nd-best match of the night, with the old Fuchi sadism and some really good nearfalls before Liger went over. Funk/Onita vs Abby/Kimala wasn't very good (don't expect Terry/Dory vs Abby/Sheik, or even Onita vs Funk), but I'd like to note that it was nice to see Onita here; badass schtick aside, it clearly meant a lot to him to be able to be part of a show in tribute to his father figure. Speaking of feels, Hansen's retirement ceremony was the highlight of the event, as even grumpy, gaijin-resenting Kawada was watery-eyed. Williams vs Barton wasn't very good; I've liked what little I've seen of early-aughts Dr. Death, and Barton (AKA Bart Gunn) did some good stuff around this time (like w/Johnny Smith against TenKoji in NJPW later in the year), but they just didn't bring it here, and if they were fighting for Hansen's symbolic position as top gaijin, they didn't measure up. The semi-main was better, but it wasn't ideal either; Muto wouldn't go Shining Wizard until spring, so he's going through the motions in that old stylistic pattern you either find "methodical" or lazy. He's still too good, and Kea too decent, to make this a bad match, but it would've been better six months later. As for the main event, while the heat didn't deliver like it should have, the work itself was very good, and resulted in the MOTN. Somewhat anticlimactic postmatch though, since Kawada/Sasaki III never happened."
