Match of the night was 1-2-3 Kid vs Ted Dibiase. I got a kick out of Mean Gene working in the Weasel gimmick on Bobby Heenan at the end of the SummerSlam report. Part three of "Who is Lex Luger became a very anti-steroid propaganda piece very of its time. Marty Jannetty was the MVP of the episode for getting as good of a match as he did out of Bastion Booger. |

I actually thought booger vs Marty wasn't too bad and Dibiase vs The Kid was obviously the best match on the show. We also saw the Headshrinkers for the first time in what felt like a WHILE. Wish there was more build to Summerslam though. |

The only things that were OK were Ted DiBiase vs. The 1-2-3 Kid and Money Inc.'s promo, which at least helped sell the SummerSlam Spectacular special as well as the PPV SummerSlam. While Jannetty vs. Booger exceeded expectactions, it wasn't memorable or anything like that. The squashes weren't great this week and they should've built up SummerSlam a lot better. The fact that the final in-ring shot of the last RAW before SummerSlam is the Macho Midget coming out with a bunch of girls, entering the ring and doing nothing as the show simply closed tells it all. |

Statt hier eine Blamage zu riskieren, nehmen DiBiase und Rotundo den guten Mr. Waltman übel auseinander. Beendet wird dieses Szenario jedoch von den Steiners, die kurz vor dem finalen Showdown mit den Geldmännern stehen, welcher erstaunlicherweise nicht beim Summerslam, sondern noch vorher in den Weeklies ausgetragen werden wird. Beim Slam warten bereits die Heavenly Bodies auf die Champions. Die Headshrinkers liefern den üblichen Squash. Mit Borga gegen Jannetty hat es ein weiteres Match auf die Summerslam-Card geschafft. Da kann Marty den Erfolg über Bastion Booger gut gebrauchen. Aber auch hier ein sehr kurzes und wenig ansehnliches Match. Im Interview fordert der Million-Dollar Man grantelnd Razor Ramon heraus, was das letzte Match in der langen und bemerkenswerten Karriere des Ted DiBiase werden soll. MOM rappen sich weiter durch das WWF Jobbermaterial. Ein weiterer Teil des Luger-Interviews folgt, in dem er beteuert, keine Steroide zu nehmen. Ja nee, is' klar, höhö. Der abschliessende Squash von Bigelow ist humorlos wie eh und jeh. Die Matches von DiBiase und Jannetty erfüllen die Mindestanforderungen, dazu noch das Money Inc. Interview und fertig ist eine knapp ausreichende Show. |

Zum Glück kommt jetzt der Summerslam, denn langsam wird es dünne in den Raw Shows (3 Punkte). |

Die Squash Matches sahen hier alle super aus, vor allem bei den Headshrinkers kracht es ordentlich und die Aktionen haben alle ordentlich Wumms. Ted DiBiase gegen 1-2-3 Kid war auch gut, wie auch Bastian Booger gegen Jannetty. Das Interview mit Lex Luger bezüglich Steroide ist wider Erwarten sehr offen und ehrlich, Hut ab. Und eines noch: Der Junge, der kurz vor der Money Inc. Promo im Publikum gezeigt wird, sieht aus wie Joel Gertner, also wie dieser wenige Jahre später als ECW-Ringsprecher aussah, ist er das? |
