[5.0] "Doink recalls Macho Man's interference in his match against Jannetty from RAW #22. The first match is more than solid, but suffers somewhat from the finish orchestrated by Lawler. For the storyline between the King and the Hitman, however, this is very helpful. The Summerslam report now officially reveals the title match between Yoko & Luger. Russ Greenberg awards his obligatory job to the nasty Mr. Hughes. The Gunns, on the other hand, take a little more time dissecting today's fodder. Finally, Doink takes out Phil Apollo in passing and definitively brings Macho Man out of retirement for next week. The start of this episode is quite lively, the match between Lawler & Hart is now on a very personal level, and Doink vs. Savage is a nice side show. Aside from that, not much happens here, so five points from me."

[5.0] "Decent episode with a few fun things in here but nothing you must see. Skippable. The hart/bam bam rematch from KOTR was the best match on the card but the focus was more on lawler making fun of bret's parents in the balcony for about half of the match. I'm not complaining, it was funny as shit, and I enjoyed the lawler part more than the match... But, it's hard really to rate the match since it wasn't focused on. I was enjoying Mr Hughes for the past few weeks but it's getting old. He's always squashing guys and not doing much else. The match he had in this episode was pretty much the same shit is the one from 2 weeks ago, wreath included. No undertaker on the show either. Hope they have a face off or something similar before summerslam. Smoking Gunns look ok at times. They have some cool moves that they've coordinated together, but Billy Gunn just sucks in general so it's hard for me to enjoy anything he's doing if it isn't the "suck it" or dx stuff. The end bit between doink and macho man was very entertaining. One thing that was interesting to me is Linda McMahon is sitting two rows into the crowd behind the announce table and she's prominently in the background during this segment. During some shots it also looks like stephanie is sitting near her. Not so sure if that's stephanie but it's definitely linda. Another observation that pisses me off in general is that typically, when they go to commercial, they skip a portion of the match. They did this last week with the HBK/Janetty match and it pissed me off. But this week, they went to commercial during Doink's mic promo and they didn't miss a single second of it. It just bothers me like why bother having a match for the IC title go so long that you can't fit it all in? Just "pause" it and pick it up later. Yet they can "pause" the video for doink on the mic. Strange decision that pisses me off probably a lot more than it should. Oh well. If anyone cares, this episode there were three doinks at the end, which is more doinks than I've ever seen at once. I'm not sure if this is a big deal or not but I felt compelled to point it out just in case anyone cares."

[3.0] "Raw #27 starts off once again with the main event. Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Bret Hart starts strong with Bret selling his knee injury while Luna Vachon does her funny little goblin act. Bam Bam brings the power offense, but the show starts when Jerry Lawler interrupts mid-match to taunt Bret by interviewing and mocking his parents in the crowd. Bret, sick of hearing King's voice, abandons the match to go chase him down. It's a fun segment that builds up their feud up. Unfortunately, Mr. Hughes vs. Russ Greenberg drags everything back down. At this point, Hughes' matches feel like contractual obligations. Even his feud with The Undertaker barely happened on Raw, so there's no reason to keep trotting him out here. And yes, now he's beating up flowers. The Smoking Gunns vs. Dwayne Gill & Glen Ruth is a completely forgettable squash, another entry in the never-ending tag team warm-up catalog. A promo for Ludvig Borga airs, between him and the arrival of Lex Luger waving a flag, the segment in hindsight screams, "See, we're not pro-nazi--this Lex guy is a real American! " Doink vs. Phil Apollo is a short squash match, but Doink's back with purpose. He opens the show warning Macho Man to stay out of his matches and demands a one-on-one. Unfortunately, the return of multiple Doinks suggests the clown infestation isn't quite over."

[6.0] "Monday Night Raw is in a pretty good spot on the road to SummerSlam. Doink has an issue with Macho Man sticking his nose in the business and is trying to get him back in action. Jerry Lawler taunts Bret Hart's parents Stu and Helen while he faces Bam Bam. The Smoking Gunns continue to be surprisingly good. Mr. Hughes continues to suck. We got a vignette for Ludvig Borga on this show and I felt instant dread. We learn that Lex Luger has been granted his title match at SummerSlam but under the condition he wear an elbow pad because of the metal plate. A solid show here."

[6.0] "I thought it was not as good as last week because they didn't build to SummerSlam that much, outside of the Bret/Lawler stuff. They did start a mini TV program between Doink and commentator Randy Savage, though. The squashes were what they were. Again, not as good as last week, but still I thought it was pretty nice."

[6.0] "Decent episode of RAW which started off with a good Bret/Bam Bam match which also included Lawler insulting Bret's parents. However the show sucked after that with Doink challenging Savage at the end of the show being the only other thing of note."

[6.0] "The Bret/Bigelow match was very good, borderline great and did its job in setting up Bret/Lawler at SummerSlam. But then it completely fell apart from there. Nothing of note happening apart from Doink challenging Macho to a match next week, and even that wasn't much either."

[6.0] "Decent episode. Hart vs Bigelow is surprisingly great for Raw. It is only little worse than at KOTR though it was a feud-setting match. Jerry Lawler is an awesome heel. Confrontation between Macho Man and Doink is cool. Nothing interesting besides that but one enjoyable match is already pretty good for that time."

[6.0] "Fine Raw. Bret/Bigelow was pretty good but would have better without Lawler telling a lot of bad jokes to Bret's parents in the balcony. The Gunns match was also very fun. Doink and Savage had their feud advanced as well."

[4.0] "Meh Raw. Decent Bam Bam/Hart match that is a bit over shadowed by Lawler making fun of Stu and Helen.. that is fine but too long. Also Lex is interviewed and its pretty lame. My favorite bit was Doink and Savage interactions."

[7.0] "This episode contains the famous segment where Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler insulted the parents of the 1993 King of the Ring Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart. There is subtle progression in the angle between Mr Hughes and the Undertaker. The enhancement tag match realty shows off the team work of the Smoking Gunns. A vignette for Ludvig Borga and an interview with Lex Luger during his Lex Express gimmick add useful filler. Growing antagonism between Doink the Clown and "Macho Boy" starts and ends the show."
