[3.0] "Jesus... I had forgotten... I had forgotten how truly appalling this show actually was. Bad match after bad match. Some of the worst booked finish that I've ever seen all in one single show. The fact that the Giant Gonzalez and undertaker match wasn't the worst thing on this show is incredible. Bret getting treated like he was at the end of the show just so Hogan's ego could be stroked was sickening. Hogan's legend had me baffled at this stage and this is one of a number of the greatest example of diminishing returns in wrestling history with delusions of grandeur winning out. Vince hold fully lost his way at this point."

[4.0] "Probably the worst Wrestlemania that I've seen but not by a whole lot. The main thing this show doesn't have is all time classic matches. Sure HBK vs Tatanka and The Headshrinkers vs The Steiner Brothers are good matches and I think Mr Perfect vs Lex Luger deserves more credit but outside of the gimmicky theme of the show this Wrestlemania is a mix of bad to slightly above average wrestling. The thing is this is more common for old wrestlemania's than we'd like to believe. Wrestlemania X survives on the fact that it has two all timer classic matches but the rest is pretty similar to this. Mediocre mid card matches, one total shitter and two bad world title matches featuring Yokozuna. It's uncanny that IX and X are almost the same but X took two creative risks and sky rocketed to icon status whereas this finished with "Lol Hogan wins""

[1.0] "At least there was Bobby Heenan riding backwards on a camel... One of the worst wrestling shows I have seen to date for sure. Nearly nothing worse watching and nothing that you should be wasting your time watching when there's far better wrestling you could be watching. A ridiculous amount of non-finishes for a WrestleMania, and that main event is atrocious and one of the dumbest booking decisions I have ever seen. Just pure cowardice from WWF not wanting to let go of a dying Hulkamania era just yet. Overall just a mess of a show that isn't even bad in a fun way. Also the whole roman aesthetic is overdone. Can I say that? Best match: The Headshrinkers vs. The Steiner Brothers Worst match: The Mega Maniacs vs. Money Inc."

Then a main event that could have been much better but at least they made a new star in Yoko- wait, who's that? Oh it's Hulk Hogan, fresh off a dreadfully horrible tag team match earlier in the night, here to completely derail the momentum of the new monster heel and make him and Mr. Fuji look like imbiciles. UGH. Maybe the worst mania ever..."

I remember watching this on a friend's old analogue sky dish and it made me not watch wrestling for a good year or so, especially when Hogan, who I hated winning the belt at the end. One of the worst and cheapest looking Manias."

[1.0] "The worst Wrestlemania ever in my opinion. I liked the stage and commentary team however the matches were boring and mostly short and forgettable. It's bad when the Steiners vs Headshrinkers was the best match. The Undertaker wins by DQ in his worst streak match. Bret and Yoko felt rushed. And at the end of the day Hogan ends up becoming champion which just sums up this Wrestlemania."

Definitely top 3 worst WrestleManias ever, 2/10"

[4.0] "Also, thanks to the special atmosphere, it is an event with a high recognition factor. From today's perspective, at first glance it seems like a less than convincing show, where one should weigh the pros and cons carefully. Of course, the salt-throwing angle with Hogan's disastrous title win is terrible, but if you look at the medium to long-term consequences, initiated by Hogan's quick title loss at KotR and his provoked departure from the WWF, we can see what good it did us. Namely, with people like Hart, the Taker, HBK, and Ramon in the main event, a fresh quality was established that was consistently continued in the WWF, apart from temporary relapses like Sid or Diesel, although even those were far better than Hogan's canned performances. Among the highlights, if you can call them that, the opener was more than solid, the Mega-Maniacs match was quite loud and had some solid phases, the Steiners were mediocre, and Perfect vs. Luger featured the usual convincing Hennig at a lower quality. Despite all efforts, the rest is not really up to Mania Card standards. There is a good dose of nostalgia here, so I'll let the show pass with an almost outrageously positive four points."

"This is maybe the Mania I have the most questions about. Why did Bob Backlund need a match? Why did IRS and DiBiase (two good workers) get saddled with Beefcake and skinny, recently-punched-by-Macho Hogan for nearly twenty minutes? Why didn't Luger and Hennig have a better match (Luger wasn't perfect but is genuinely underrated as a worker)? In kayfabe, why can the magical undead zombie man be stopped by chloroform? How could anyone in power in the WWE have watched Steiners/SWAT team and not realized that's the direction they should be going in tag team-wise? What was up with the two Doinks, and why is that a part of this show that modern day WWE is still pretending wasn't bad? In kayfabe, why would Mr. Fuji agree to a match between a near-fresh Hogan and a blown up Yoko? And finally, how did JR show up his first day on the job, get told to wear a toga, and not quit immediately after? So basically, this was a perplexing bad show."

[2.0] "WrestleMania 9: Cheap Looking, Cheap Finishes, Cheap Wrestling. Why Hogan, why? The show was not good, but Hogan put the spotlight entirely on himself, and he hasn't looked worse. Gross looking nasty eye, poor post-steroid build... It didn't make sense to push Hogan so heavily in this show, he was not up to the task whatsoever. The show was poor booking decision after poor booking decision, any semblance of good work, was undermined by cheap lacklustre finishes. It's like they tried to fit in as many poor finishes as they could. I've got to give props to Bret Hart, who I thought worked Yokozuna solidly in the Main Event, especially given how short it was. And I have to give props to Luger/Perfect & The Steiner's/Headshrinkers. The seven wrestlers I've named, I thought gave it the most and tried to give us a good show, but it was hard to make it worth anything with all of the poor booking decisions on display. There's so little to grasp onto and take away with you as a positive, you just end up finishing the show feeling... well almost nothing, and that's poor."

[4.0] "Well... after watching a special on WM9 and how disastrous they make it sound.. and after watching the first 10 episodes of raw especially the Raws leading up to it, I was expecting the worst. And, I'd say this exceeded my expectations by a lot (for the good), considering my expectations were to rate this a 0. However, I sorta liked this show. I DID like the ending to the night. I think it could have been executed better, but you can't disagree with like 95% of the crowd cheering their asses off for the 10 minutes following the last match. Maybe it's vegas, maybe it's caeasars, maybe it's the drinks? I don't know, but the crowd really loved that ending. Also might have been better received if the previous hogan match didn't end so wonky, and if the undertaker match didn't end wonky as well. Hogan has built a strange reputation for himself with his creative control clauses and his clout behind the scenes. He seems to put himself in positions that many of the smarks and other great wrestlers disagree with. But, as far as this night goes, and for that matter, as far as his decision to change the ending of him vs sting in WCW, I think he was correct. i think both situations should have been executed better with a better strategy, but ultimately having hogan win the title at wm9 was better than having yoko beat bret and let the fans leave upset. And i think the big reason was it simply didn't make sense to make yoko the champion right now. There was zero build up and nobody wanted that. Overall, I think the spectacle and the production of this event was top notch. "Finkus Maximus" cracked me the fuck up, and seeing even the camera men in their outfits was a great touch. I also enjoyed the dude interviewing people in between matches, with the highlight being the interview with ceo of caesars palace. Also, I see what vince was trying to do with giant gonzalez vs undertaker. I think this match and the post match stuff would be looked at more fondly today if giant gonzalez didn't end up being a bust. Also, too many matches in a row with a non conventional finish. Match of the night was the IC Title and it wasn't close, although another thing that isn't close is the talent level between HBK and tatanka. HBK outclasses him in every single way and therefore it made the match hard to enjoy at times. Anyway, this show isn't as bad as people make it seem. I gave it a 4 because I really enjoyed certain aspects of it and it did feel like a big show. Despite no or very small build up or reasonable explanation for most of these matches, if you just watched this show without knowing the build up, you wouldn't notice. The announce team and production team made every match feel important on this day. However, as a full show including the wrestling, it isn't really "good" either, and the two headliner matches both had strange finishes. I also wish the bret/yoko match was longer, they were doing something really good there. I do think that vince just wasn't in a good place at this time because he seemed to lack direction. If there was better build up and strategy to this event in terms of storytelling, this could have been a very good card."

Too many screwy finishes. 2 of the worst matches in mania yet happened here, and we got one of the worst endings in mania history. To look for the positives, of which there is few, I liked that there wasn't a bunch of random sub 5 minute matches like in the past. The venue is really cool too. But it is still awful."

[4.0] "I feel this is a show that certainly isn't terribly strong, but also I don't regard this as the weakest Wrestlemania, that dubious honour must go to Wrestlemania XI. There's a strong opening match between Shawn Michaels and Tatanka for the Intercontinental title, with a poor finish, nonetheless. Bret Hart takes Yokozuna to a decent match in the main event with a lazy finish. Also, I feel this Wrestlemania has a lot of backstage heat to it, what with Hulk Hogan coming to the ring with a legitimate black eye, which honestly gives the whole show a kind of edge to it which was rare during this period. Also, I feel this Wrestlemania is dead centre in the middle of WWF's then transition from it's Golden Era to the New Generation Era which also makes it a fascinating watch. Certainly a weaker Wrestlemania but not as terrible as Wrestlemania XI."

[1.0] "I mean what is there to say about Wrestlemania 9? This is a wretched show with bad matches, horrific booking, and nonsensical storylines. The main event between Bret and Yokozuna was fine if a bit too short, but if Bret won and cemented himself as the top Face then it would've been fine. Instead, Yokozuna won which isn't ideal, but at least, it makes Yokozuna the monster heel of WWF, but that didn't happened either. Instead, Hulk Hogan came out, got a match with Yoko and immediately win. Hogan. Must. Pose. Brother. The rest of the show was weak with dumb finishes (Mega Maniacs/Money Inc), pointless squash matches (Razor/Backlund), and just horrific wrestling (Undertaker/Giant Gonzalez). God bless HBK for a decent opener and God bless the Steiners and the Headshrinkers for a solid tag match. They are the sole bright spots of a dreadful Mania."

Also this whole finish did really kill for a little kid. Hulk Hogan was seen as this ultimate hero so only to me as a small child did this finish work perfectly. As an adult I have to say they needed to figure out a better way to make the crowd go home happy with a babyface win. Also I think after you watch this show you will really miss the mangers of old that really do not have a place in wrestling today"

Horrible main event caused by peak of Hogan's ego, but we still got two decent matches at the beginning, Macho Man on the commentary and incredibly charismatic entrances - maybe that's not so much, however these are still some arguments which other weak Manias doesn't have."

In my opinion, the only good match was the Steiners/Headshrinkers, where Scott got to show off his skills really well during that match... that spot with him reversing the move while on someone's shoulders is always going to live in my head. But everything else was boring, forgettable, or in the case of a few matches, awful."

[1.0] "In my humble opinion the worst Wrestlemania of all time. The first two matches are good AND THAT'S IT (5/10). Bad comedy match (2/10) followed by a 4 minute nothing burger between Ramon and Backlund. The show fully falls apart with the 20 minute Tag Team Title snoozefest that gets dragged down even further with a horribly booked finish (1/10). Luger/Perfect was okay but under delivered (4/10), which is then followed by the infamous Undertaker vs Gonzalez match (1/10) which with its finish and post match angle is so absurd I can't even give it a zero. All that's left is a short below average "main event" between Yokozuna beating Hart (3/10) which is wrapped up by Hulk Hogan politicking his way into an out of nowhere World Title win afterwards, matching the level of horrible of the previous Wrestlemania Main Event. Difference is that that show had two classics to offer. This card has 3 acceptable matches, and the rest ranges from bad to waste of time to straight up terrible. Everything about this show is just horrendous, and the acceptable matches save this event from a flat ZERO, but can't save it from a 1/10. Barely redeemable."

[3.0] "From a purely in-ring standpoint I'll be honest... This show is nowhere near as bad as its reputation would lead you to believe. While there is admittedly nothing all that great here (especially for WrestleMania), the opener is solid, the Steiner vs. Headshrinkers match is fun, and I really enjoy all of the Bret vs. Yokozuna matches and think they're very underrated. The other matches are fairly underwhelming, but I never really found myself bored by anything outside of the dull tag title match. The Undertaker vs. Giant Gonzalez in particular is nowhere near as bad as people will lead you to believe, and is perfectly serviceable as a novelty match and special attraction. What earns this show such a low rating, however, is the atrocious booking. Nearly every match has an awful finish, and nearly all of the babyfaces end up getting screwed over in with some sort of garbage taking place. It's especially noteworthy when you have two title matches that end in a count-out or disqualification. Is that really fitting for a show like WrestleMania...? And the less said about the conclusion to the show the better - what an absolute farce. I will say, while I am confident I would have despised this show live due to how bad the finishes are and the abysmal way the night ends, I do find the show as a whole to be entertaining and somewhat of a guilty pleasure. I love the venue and they definitely succeeded to create a sense of spectacle. The intro to the show is great (Heenan coming out backwards on the camel is classic) and the entire aesthetic of the show is really fun and something I would have loved to hav. There's something endearing about the entire night that makes the show enjoyable for me, but despite this I don't think I can really justify a higher rating considering how awful the booking is throughout the night. It's a shame, because I think the potential was there for this to be a much better show than it actually was."

Bret Hart vs Yokozuna, for the most part was a decent match, but the ending sucked, Bret was beaten by Mr. Fuji throwing salt in his face, however, the ending goes from bad to downright awful, Hogan immediately comes out, and is challenged to a title match with Yokozuna, who he beats in 40 SECONDS, winning the championship when he did not have to. This event has just about nothing good going for it, and one of the worst Wrestlemanias."

Sure, the show starts strong with Shawn vs Tatanka and the Steiners vs the Headshrinkers but it then swiftly falls off a cliff... 2 MATCHES IN! Just match after match of nothing happening so slowly with multiple DQ finishes with the Taker vs Gonzalez match having maybe the worst finish I've ever seen. Oh wait, that's not even the worst finish on this card because fan favourite, future of the business Bret Hart just got screwed out of his WWF Title way too early in the match because Yoko was too gassed to work the full length and now Hulk Hogan, face of the era that the WWF was trying to seperate itself from arrives and challenges Yokozuna... who accepts, for some reason, and then loses, for some reason."

[7.0] "As a self-proclaimed Wrestlemania IX enthusiast, I find myself frequently defending what many consider to be an underappreciated gem in the realm of wrestling pay-per-views. While admittedly it may not boast the plethora of iconic matches synonymous with other editions, Wrestlemania IX is just as entertaining as nearly any other offering from the first decade and a half of the show of shows. Because, after all, isn't being entertained what sports entertainment is all about? Let's address the elephant in the room: the infamous finale. Yes, the last five minutes of the event might have left a sour taste for some, but let's not allow that to overshadow the entire spectacle. Wrestling, after all, is as much about the entertainment as it is about the sport, and Wrestlemania IX delivers on both fronts. From the get-go, the ambiance of the event, set against the vibrant backdrop of Las Vegas, resonates with me as a fellow Vegas aficionado. The energy is palpable, drawing viewers into the spectacle unfolding in the squared circle. The commentary team, led by the chemistry and wit of Bobby Heenan, adds another layer of enjoyment to the proceedings. Their banter and insights enhance the viewing experience, making even the less stellar moments of the event thoroughly entertaining. The card itself is a mixed bag, but therein lies its charm. The solid opener between HBK and Tatanka sets the stage for what's to come, followed by a tag match that keeps the momentum going. However, it's the underrated clash between Doink and Crush that truly shines, showcasing the brilliance of classic Doink antics, including the unforgettable Double Doink bit. Sure, there are moments where the pace may falter, but isn't that par for the course with any Wrestlemania? Yet, amidst the ebbs and flows, we're treated to a memorable showdown between Bret Hart and Yokozuna, a match that deserves more recognition than it often receives and, In my opinion, overlooked due to what comes after. Unfortunately, the negative reception that follows, particularly concerning the involvement of Hulk Hogan, tends to overshadow the event's merits. But let's not allow one misstep to detract from the overall experience. Wrestlemania IX encapsulates the essence of sports entertainment, delivering a spectacle that may not be deemed a classic but certainly offers a heck of a good time. In conclusion, Wrestlemania IX may not boast the accolades of its counterparts, but for those willing to embrace its quirks and nostalgia, it remains a cherished chapter in the annals of wrestling history. So, to all the Wrestlemania IX skeptics out there, I implore you to give it another chance. Who knows? You might just find yourself becoming a Wrestlemania IX guy too."

[2.0] "A deeply mediocre show through and through. WM9 is widely considered one of the worst Wrestlemanias, last I heard, and while I'm not sure it's fully at the bottom of the barrel, it's still pretty bad. It is lacking any big moments - at least, any good ones. Running down the card, it probably peaks with the opening two matches, which isn't good in general and especially not good when both of them were serviceable but not great, with an early but not nearly at his peak HBK showing and a good but nothing special Steiners tag team match. The Double Doink spot probably gave us our first good "moment" of the show, and is memorable and fun, but comes after a pretty dire match. Razor-Backlund is nothing, but had the right ending, while the overlong Tag Titles match dragged to death, way too long and with a stupid finish that set up our awful climax. From there we dive into the most disappointing match on the card, as Perfect and Luger did nothing worth noting, and the infamously dire Undertaker-Gonzales match - perhaps not as bad as its reputation, but not by much. Then we get into the real sour note of the show, the mediocre and lazy Yokozuna-Hart match that turns into an excuse for Hogan to storm in and abruptly win the title. It's a stupid, short-sighted finish that undercut both Yokozuna and Bret Hart in service for a shot, meaningless Hogan title run that ends almost as quickly as it begins, and spoiler alert, Hogan never puts Bret over as promised, and drops the belt back to Yoko in the most convoluted of manners. One of the biggest Scumbag Hogan moments in wresting history, and there are many. With all that said, this show is definitely less than the sum of its parts."

[5.0] "Wrestlemania 9 is not as bad as everyone says. It is far from a great show, but it is absolutely not the worst Wrestlemania of all time. In my opinion, Wrestlemania 9 is head and shoulders above events like 2, 11, 27, 32, and the pandemic ruined 36. And then there are other Wrestlemanias that I think this one might still be better than, but I think are closer to debate, such as 4, 5, 10, 12, and a few other modern ones. I absolutely wouldn't put Wrestlemania 9 in my bottom 5 Wrestlemania list. It MIGHT not even make bottom 10, but that'd be close if you held me to making a list. The in-ring action at Wrestlemania 9 is actually pretty good. I personally don't think there was much on this show that was trash. But it definitely holds true that, after the first two matches, the show never gets to that point again. And again, look at this show beyond the matches. I think regardless of what you think of this event, we can all agree that this show is one of, if not THE most unique looking Wrestlemania's of all time. The look and the theme by itself makes this show so memorable and iconic. Also, the commentary is immensely underrated. Savage and Heenan are constantly having a verbal jousting match with each other, and both are incredibly quick to zing something back. All while a brand new to WWF Jim Ross is calling the action and trying to keep them in check. I find this event so quotable, and the commentary and absolute joy. So what drags this show down? The booking decisions are what ruin this show. Across this entire show, there are only two matches with a pure, clean finish. The great tag match, and a throwaway cold match between Razor and Backlund. Everything else has some screwy shenanigans. And some of these even insult your intelligence. As one example. In Doink vs. Crush, Doink cheats to beat Crush. A second ref comes out and explains the cheat...but the decision stands. In the tag title match...Hogan cheats and wins...a second ref comes out AGAIN and explains the cheat...and this time they overturn it...? What a mess. And don't get me started about how the show ends with Hogan stealing the belt from Yoko. Disgusting. In any case, Wrestlemania 9 is not a shining gem of a Wrestlemania by any means, but I absolutely fight to defend that it is not even close to the 'worst of all time.' It deserves a better reputation than the unfair hate it receives."

The level of performance in the first few matches is quite good - plus, Scott Steiner nosedives out the ring - and I can't fault what Bret was able to get out of Yokozuna. The aspects that make it deserving of its reputation include the Undertaker/Giant Gonzales match, and the ending. Otherwise, I'm cool with togas, I'm cool with Double Doink, I'm cool with quite a lot of WrestleMania 9."

What makes this show so bad is really a couple of big and awful booking decisions; Hulk Hogan being WWF Champ again at the end of this show and all the stuff around it and Giant Gonzales. The main event shenanigans are still frustrating to this day. The tag title match is also pretty bad, so really Hulk Hogan screws up a lot with this show. I actually liked or thought all but three of the matches were decent enough on this show. Another noteworthy thing from this show is the debut of JR; it is so weird hearing a team of JR, Heenan, and Savage. Is this one of the worst Manias? Possibly, but I don't think it's even in my bottom five."

While the wrestling on the show was really bad, especially the Taker/Gonzalez match, the booking of the main event is what stands out most, as Bret loses his WWF title to Yokozuna, who then loses it to Hogan in an impromptu match, in 1993. Hogan wouldn't even appear as champ until he lost it to Yokozuna at KOTR, meaning that Bret had to take a back seat for a whole year, as they tried making Lex Luger the next Hogan, which failed miserably."

The opener great with Tatanka being carried into one of his best matches and later The Steiners showed why they're one of the most fun teams to watch. Doink vs Crush was okay with some illusion bollocks and the first not a very good match was The Megamaniacs vs Money Inc. with Hogan trying to do what worked in the 80s but now necessarily. Lex vs Perfect was a good match to put Luger over, while Taker vs Gonzalez was the biggest stinker on the card. The main event delivered and Bret with Yoko did a nice job of having a angaging match without making it too long, but the "real" main event was just a rib at this point with Hogan winning the title. Some nice moments here and there, dragged down by the horrible finish to the whole show."

Way too many non-finishes for a WrestleMania show, too many matches that seemed to end before they could get somewhere good, and the infamous Taker/Gonzalez match followed by a ridiculous Hogan-must-win ending to the show. The Ancient Rome theme is basically the best part of the show."

The best match here is a disappointing mediocre Shawn Michaels with a dumb finish it's should tell you how bad the event is. Scott Hall have no reason to win clean against Backlund, Doink vs Crush is everything you should expect from a Doink match, the tag titles match have no reason being this long and the ending of the show was probably the lowest point of the show. ZERO"

Tatanka vs HBK was my highlight of the night - great match with kinda poor finish, Owen vs Yokozuna and Steiner's match were pretty good as well. Unfortunately, rest of the matches were pointless and I don't think I enjoy Hogan walking away with the WWF title. Let's just forget that The Undertaker vs Giant Gonzalez happened..."

Michaels/Tatanka is solid, the Steiners/Headshrinkers is pretty good. Everything else ranges from mediocre to awful, but at least its a pretty short show"

But for me it's a guilty pleasure show. I really like the unique atmosphere of this WrestleMania - an open arena, people in togas, decorations and epic entrances. This was the last Wrestlemania for Brutus Beefcake and Ted DiBiase, whose story, contrary to popular belief, I find very interesting and emotional because of the circumstances of Brutus' return after the infamous incident. There were some really good matches on the show, I really like open air, both tag team matches and Hart-Yokozuna, but still this show was not about quality, but about the atmosphere, and I completely disagree with the opinion that it was the worst Wrestlemania in history, even despite the very controversial end of the show."

Tatanka/HBK was decent and Steiners/Headshrinkers was good but for the supposed highpoints of the show, I wasn't crazy for them. Tag titles match took an eternity. 'Taker has a good entrance before a not-so-good match. The main event (well, the first one) was a fine big man vs crafty small guy kinda match, and the aftermath may suck but at least it's funny with how Hogan hauls ass to get out there and acts all shocked and unsure of himself. The rest is whatever."

The first hour is genuinely very good with HBK/Tanaka being a little too long but still landing on the great side of things, Steiners/Headshrinkers being really great and Doink/Crush while not good still had the fun double Doink bit. Razor/Backland is forgettable, the tag title match is not good, Perfect/Luger drags and Gonzalez/Taker might be the worst Mania match so far but the show went by relatively quickly. Everything after Yokozuna/Bret is horrible, Hogan wastes NO time getting his shit in and winning but it's almost funny rather than unwatchable. It wasn't a good show but it's not close to the worst Wrestlemania of all time."

There was enough juice left for most kids to retain a casual interest until summer, but come the new school year in the autumn no one except for the die-hards wanted to talk about wrestling any more. To most kids I knew, this show was "deeply uncool" in the worst way. We wanted superstars and superheros we could look up to, that would give us entertainment that could be enjoyed by kids that also made us feel like adults... This didn't tick any of the boxes - while previous WrestleManias had often lacked in in-ring action/quality, the presentation and the charisma of the on-camera performers (whether they were the guys in the ring, or on commentary) could make up for that... With a look / theme so garish and gaudy it was patronising, a commentary team that just couldn't find a rhythym, and a guy literally wrestling in a spraypainted body suit, all the in-ring flaws were only highlighted (and the fact that it featured one of the worst WWF matches of all time, with the aforementioned El Gigante, only made this more damaging). Combine that with a finish that killed the monster heel (Yokozuna) and the biggest full-time babyface (Hart) and you have a disaster of an event."

[4.0] "Honestly, this is not that bad. I've seen and reviewed a lot worse shows, including WrestleManias. Of course, the ending is absolute bullshit and made everyone look bad except the almighty Hulkster. I'm far from being a Hogan hater, I appreciate his work and how he was able to get so much out of audiences by doing so little, and that is even reflected on some of my past reviews of Hogan matches, but the magic just wasn't there anymore. Times were clearly changing, and Hogan's godawful babyface run in WCW was further proof of that. The idea to put the belt on him here hurt Yokozuna, who was undefeated heading into this show and HAD JUST WON THE DAMN THING; hurt Bret, who had been the reigning World Champion for the previous six months; and hurt the company, since Hogan literally disappeared with the belt and made no in-person appearances on RAW or any other WWF show until King of the Ring. Instead, he went out and wrestled a pair of matches in Japan, where he even buried the WWF Championship on camera. The whole thing was just a disaster. As far as the rest of the show (which is easy to forget and that's the reason why almost everyone considers this the worst WM of all time): the first two matches were really good, and personally I enjoyed Bret v. Yokozuna and, to a lesser extent, Perfect v. Luger, but everything else was pretty forgettable. I obviously wouldn't recommend this WrestleMania to anyone, but I don't think it's the worst either."
