[5.0] "This is a very very mid show by WWE here in 2017, showing were i think the company was heading in 2018. The best match was one they were forced to book alot of the storytelling lacked here and matches lacked as well just a very middle of the road show"

[4.0] "Aside from a really strong Styles/Balor match that was thrown together at the last second, I found this card to be mostly weak. Asuka/Emma was the next closest thing to a good match, and established Asuka well on the main roster although they probably went a bit too 50/50. Cruiserweight tag was fine but heatless, Alexa/Mickie isn't a bad match but the feud is uninspired, and while Kalisto tries to pull something out of Enzo the latter continues to ruin the Cruiserweight division. Jason Jordan and Elias appear several times on this show before we finally get to their match, and the segments are.... very 2017 Vince McMahon. Match is pretty bad too, just a terrible presentation for a promising talent in Jordan. The main event isn't really my thing but at least it has the happy ending and all things considered goes about as well as it could on Angle's part returning."

[6.0] "This was a solid PPV, and when you look at the original card its funny how the last minute changes helped the show! Asuka vs Emma (**1/2) - Yes it was a TV match with a predictable outcome, but having Emma get some offense in was really nice! The wrestling was nothing great, but nothing bad either. A good debut for Asuka! Cedric Alexander and Rich Swann vs Gentleman Jack Gallagher and The Brian Kendrick (**) - This is a match you can find on 205 Live. Nothing to write home about. Alexa Bliss(c) vs Mickie James (***) - The match was good, but again nothing too special. If this were a tables match, then it could've boosted the story. Enzo Amore vs Kalisto(c) (*1/2) - Enzo Amore winning the Cruiserweight title was a bad choice back then as he was more of a talker than a wrestler. Kalisto tried so hard to carry this match, but Enzo kept bringing it down. AJ Styles vs Finn Balor (****1/2) - Now this is a certified banger! The funny thing about it is that it was a last-minute addition to the card and yet these two guys pulled off an instant classic. Sure there wasn't any story to go off of, but WWE made the right call to put these two together for a PPV match. Elias vs Jason Jordan (*) - An improptu match that was built up over the course of the show where Jason Jordan kept interrupting Elias's concerts with produce... Yeah its weird. It also doesn't help that the crowd soured on Jason Jordan for most of the match. The Shield vs Braun Strowman, Kane, The Bar, and the Miz (***1/2) - For what it was worth, this match was good! My only complaint is that when Kurt gets taken out, the action becomes a bit slow as the Miz's team just dominates over Dean and Seth. It comes off as a huge beatdown instead of a back and forth match. The ending is fine, but way too much emphasis on the domination. TLC 2017 is a fine show, but comes off as an average episode of RAW instead of a PPV. I know TLC was a B-List PPV, but there should've been some excitement added to the mix!"

Finn/Bray could've been potentially career killing for both men and a confusingly-built main event that no one cared about turned into what I'm pretty sure is the first ever match between Finn and AJ, which was excellent, and Kurt Angle's first match in WWE since I think 2005, which was pretty good but not great and did give us Shield Kurt which was hilarious. All this because Roman and Bray got mumps the night before the show. Impeccable luck."

[8.0] "Asuka/Emma: **, this match was alright, Asuka was as ever dominate, good to see her on RAW. Cruiserweight Tag: **1/4, Swann & Alexander were just that much better then Gallagher & Kendrick. Bliss/James: *3/4, to be fair this match was a bit boring for a ppv. Amore/Kalisto: *1/2, bit of a let down match. Balor/Styles: ****1/2, Balor and Styles had one of the best matches all night. Elias/Jordan, was not needed on the ppv. 5 on 3 TLC Match: ****3/4, MOTN, Kurt Angle had one of the best in ring returns in 2017, Braun Strowman was the MVP of the match. I rate this event 8. 0/10. 0 as the Alexa Bliss/Mickie James and Elias/Jason Jordan matches were disappointing"

[6.0] "I liked the show. Two matches that was above anything else. Styles/Balor was a real positive experience as they were allowed to step outside of the WWE mentality and felt fresh that way, and I really enjoyed the free-spirit violence of the main event TLC bout. Asuka finally arriving was also a positive even if Emma decided to steal the spotlight showing aggression for almost the first time on the main roster. And keep bringing Elias, just don't feed him to Jordan. Asuka -vs- Emma [**], Cedric Alexander & Rich Swann -vs- Gentleman Jack Gallagher & The Brian Kendrick [** 1/2], Alexa Bliss (c) -vs- Mickie James - (WWE RAW Women's Title) [* 3/4], Kalisto (c) -vs- Enzo Amore - (WWE Cruiserweight Title) [* 1/2], Finn Balor -vs- AJ Styles [*** 1/2], Jason Jordan -vs- Elias [* 1/2], Kurt Angle & Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins -vs- Braun Strowman & Cesaro & Kane & Sheamus & The Miz - (TLC Match; Handicap) [*** 3/4]"

[3.0] "This show had below average matches and strange messages. Alexa Bliss mentioned before the match that her opponent was to old for the job and was proven right. Elias has actually lost to a bully. A flashback scene was shown before the Kalisto and Amore match that it would be a ladder match but it was just one fall... However, the main event was obvious booking. Big hype for the return of the American hero. Fighting against all the odds and got injured early in the match. The rest was long time stalling in which the combatants were looking for opportunities to gain time until the obvious return of the American hero. The only surprise was that the extreme rules match was called by the (German) announcers TLC match. I liked two things at the PPV. The match between AJ Styles and Finn Balor. The fans were into it and the performance was good. The second thing was the "two sweet" at the end showing that there was still some fan service left in the WWE."

[4.0] "Yeah, two-match show. Aj/balor was excellent with hot crowd. But not MOTYC or even top 30 like many fans said. Main event was pretty fun, but went too long with some sloppy moments. That's why i give 4. The rest huh, not much, largely forgettable. Underwhelming debut for asuka. Alexa lesnar's winning was predictable garbage. CW title was trash as usual Enzo match. CW tag was just there. And Jordan/ellias was a boring filler with zero fucks given. Another mediocre ppv as usual from wwe."

[4.0] "This TLC was really missing the tables, ladders and chairs. In a PPV called HIAC, you get to experience the gimmick. Here on the other hand the main event did not do justice for the promotion and staging of this event. A short overall card with weak undercard. Asuka debut was cool (which could have happened at SD or RAW) and the ME was quite soft, still fun and entertaining, but that´s about it. I guess it would be time to bury this gimmick PPV/event already, if they cant come up with a better overall show. Bring back some old PPV or come up with a new one."

[7.0] "The opening match of Asuka vs Emma (**1/2) wasn't bad, the match wasn't expected to be good due to Emma being in it but Asuka did what she could to make it work. The cruiserweight tag match (**) was a quick entertaining match that was organized chaos, which is what cruiserweight matches should be. Bliss vs James (**1/4) was okay at best, what I got from this match is that Mickie James can still perform but isn't a high level performer, and Bliss is good at story telling but is scared to take bumps. Enzo vs Kalisto (**1/2) was basically Enzo telling a story, that story was to do whatever it takes to win and that's what he did he ran and ran until an opportunity for him to cheat was revealed and he took advantage. Balor vs Styles (****1/4) was definitely the match of the night, there were excellent and entertaining spots by both competitors and the Too Sweet at the end was iconic. The main event (***1/2) was chaos but there is no denying that seeing Kurt Angle land a few Germans and Angle Slams was pretty cool, overall that match was entertaining."

[7.0] "Good idea to start the show with Asuka's debut. I was hoping for a complete squash but Emma gave a better performance than she usually does so I didn't mind too much that she got so much offense. A nice exhibition to introduce Asuka to the main roster. (**1/2) I expected Gallagher & Kendrick to win the cruiserweight tag match given Gallagher's recent heel turn. Alexander & Swann would make a great addition to either the SmackDown! or RAW tag team division, the biggest problem with the cruiserweight division is no interaction with the rest of the roster IMO. The crowd didn't care for this match but it had good action and I enjoyed it. (***) I was looking forward to the Women's title match because I think Mickie James is great. Good match with Alexa doing a good job on top working James' arm. (***) They actually tried to have Enzo work a normal match? Enzo is good at many things but working a normal one-on-one match isn't one of them. And he won the title so expect to see more of this, bleh. (1/2*) AJ vs. Balor was a dream match and it was great. Good back and forth match that woke up the crowd. Balor picks up a big win in what is his best WWE match to date. (****1/2) Jordan vs. Elias was an impromptu match that WWE at least set up with a few angles before the match which I appreciate. The match was much better than I expected as they both showed good effort despite being in the "death slot". I just don't know why they did the screwed up finish with Jordan pinning Elias despite his shoulder being up instead of a clean win for Jordan (**) Good showing for Kurt Angle in his first WWE match in over 11 years. I liked that they booked the heels to turn on Braun as it made the eventual comeback by the faces more believable. (****) The card was shaping up to be one of the most forgettable shows of the year and ended up being one of the best WWE shows for the year instead."

[6.0] "The Balor-Styles match was, by far, match of the night, was likely far better than the originally-scheduled Balor-Wyatt match would have been, and was largely responsible for saving the show's overall grade. The Bliss-James was pretty good and told its story well. And the main event was a big, overbooked mess, but a somewhat entertaining one (though not on the level of Monday Night Wars-era WCW or the Chamber of Horrors match for that kind of thing), though it does seem like a waste of Angle's WWE in-ring return. The rest of the show was alright; nothing bad, but nothing that truly stood out."

[7.0] "Asuka Vs Emma was a good match for Asuka to debut. I thought Emma got enough offense in to not make her look super weak against Asuka who looked really good **3/4. Alexander and Swann Vs Gallagher and Kendrick was solid and all guys looked great but it just didn't feel important **1/2. Bliss Vs James was good. I thought Mickie James should have won just to give her a final run with the title but I guess they are going to save that for later ***1/4. Amore Vs Kalisto was the worst match of the night. Kalisto looked good as always but Amore just can't work a good match. And why did he win the title again? Finn Balor Vs Styles was MOTN. Really great and fun match. ****3/4. Jason Jordan Vs Elias was better than expected, of course it didn't matter but it was solid **3/4. Angle and Shield Vs Kane, Strowman, Miz, Sheasaro was very weird but highly entertaining ****. Overall 7/10."

AJ/Finn: ****1/4. They finally got to have their big PPV match. It definitely delivered. Main Event: ***1/2. Very very long, and a lot of smoke and mirrors. Still produced a good match. Enjoyable watch."

[5.0] "Totally mediocre PPV. Asuka vs Emma was fine. Emma was cheesy but worked well physically and character-wise. Asuka overplayed her 'smiley killer' character as always, but had nice energy and general technique. Awkward chemistry, but nice result. **3/4. Swan & Alexander vs Kendrick & Gallagher was quite good. Two baby-faces performing amazing acrobatic feats and heels performing impressive methodical work. Simple but exciting. ***1/4. Bliss vs James was bland. Alexa was entertainingly childish as always and Mickie clearly felt like she had to prove herself. No proper psychology since Mickie no sold all of Alexa's arm work, and many awkward exchanges. Lots of really boring control segments from Alexa too, sadly. **1/4. Kalisto vs Enzo was quite bad. Enzo is more over than the babyface, Kalisto, who himself is very bland. No interesting wrestling or character work. Hot potato title change. **. Balor vs Styles was the only good part of this show. Great atmosphere, but no story. Started off slow but built nicely to some impressive exchanges and spots. Went into big-move trading territory without feeling overblown. Nice Bullet Club references too. ***1/2. Jordan vs Elias was awfully placed. No bad work, but zero-interest following the Balor vs Styles hype. **. The TLC handicap match was a totally overbooked and poorly written mess. Lots of conveniences and awkward exchanges. Lots of underwhelming spots as well. Had a few okay moments and nostalgia references with Angle. ***"

The main event works fine with Kurt Angle return and Strowman vs Kane feud. Nothing special from the debut of Asuka or the Women's title match. I liked the cruiserweight tag team match, the rest is acceptable."

I'm not a huge fan of Enzo with the title but I guess that's his job and he's doing it well. Asuka's debut wasn't as explosive as I would have liked but it was good regardless. The women's match was there, Bliss isn't fantastic in-ring and this just helped solidify that. Elias vs. Jordan filled up some time but I liked dickhead Jordan just lobbing food at Elias twice during the show, that popped me. Not a great show but not too bad either."

[7.0] "A very solid show. Asuka vs Emma had some neat offense on both sides but just didn't need to go as long as it did; there were moments where I was shocked it was still going (***). CW tag had some neat stuff throughout and filled its role as a spotty midcard match for the division (***1/4). Bliss vs Mickie was a very solid championship match with decent build, and while not everything worked I enjoyed it (***1/4+). Enzo vs Kalisto was kinda dire as a match with a poor and dumb finish, but Kalisto tried (*3/4). Styles vs Balor was a solid exhibition match, but it was mostly due to the crowd being really into it; it was a very basic but well-executed match (***1/2+). Jordan vs Elias was nothing in particular, with nothing that was particularly good or bad; it was there and it filled the time they wanted it to (**1/2). The main event was a near-40 minute clusterfuck and I loved it; Miz directing traffic on a heel team destined to implode while what was supposed to be the return of The Shield became a return for Kurt Angle in Shield gear, and all of that crazy stuff thrown into a TLC lead to some wild stuff; the control from The Shield, the moments of Angle's offense, Miz's great heel work, BRAUN wrecking shit, Cesaro & Sheamus being the glue of the heel team, etc. The heat segments on Dean & Seth were a bit drawn out, as was the Kane attack on BRAUN, but everything from BRAUN getting back up from it was really enjoyable, especially Kurt running wild and working Miz until the finish; a SUPER fun main event with a ton of shit going on (**** to ****1/4). Decent PPV with an utterly unique main event."

Styles/Balor was absolutely incredible and lived up to the hype. Both guys gave it their all ****1/2. Jordan/Elias was decent **1/4. Shield/Team Miz was everything from awesome to bad. The first half was awesome action. The second half had great moments but also bad ones. Once Angle retuned it picked up again. Overall it was really fun ****1/4."

[8.0] "Asuka/Emma should've been booked differently given it was Asuka's main roster debut & she has been pushed as an absolute killer, but I was still very happy with how the match ended up - those 2 women have a great chemistry with each other & they delivered a really good match (***1/2), the cruiser tag was also really good - really well structured (***1/2), Alexa/Mickie was yet another really good match; really good storytelling throughout (***1/2), Kalisto/Enzo ended the streak of really good matches on the show, just a completely forgettable, boring match (*), Styles/Bálor stole the show - an excellent match between the former Bullet Club leaders (****1/4), Elias/Jordan happened (*), the main event was quite the clusterfuck, but I still enjoyed the crap out of it (****). Overall I thought the show was really damn good. Only 2 bad, forgettable matches & the rest of the matches were from really good to great. Thumbs up!"

[5.0] "The first three matches were all on a similar level, not special but completely fine. Cruiserweight title wasn't a DUD, so it exceeded expectations for me, barely. AJ Styles/Finn Balor I already wrote an essay on, but I loved it. Elias/Jordan should've involved the vegetables, would've made it bearable. Main event was amongst the most ridiculous things WWE have ever thrown on a live broadcast, but it was fun in the moment. Show exceeded my very low expectations due to the first three matches."
