[6.0] "The final part of WrestleMania 2 in The Los Angeles is most famous for the blue steel cage match where Hogan defeated Bundy in the main event, which was pretty solid. The Funks vs Tito/JYD tag team match was really fun to watch and easily the best match here and the Funks surprisingly got some good Hardcore spots in as well. Ricky Steamboat vs Hercules was a pretty decent opener as well. The less said about Adonis vs Elmer, the better though as that was an absolute shocker. [WrestleMania 2 Overall Rating: 4.0] The event as a whole got better to watch as it went along, but WrestleMania 2 is a very disjointed event. It just didn't feel like the biggest wrestling show on earth like so many other WrestleMania events do and the first half of it is entirely skippable. Thankfully, the show did have its highights with most of them happening in this arena, but thankfully the three arena structure has never been done again and WrestleMania 3 is a true classic event the following year."

Ricky Vs Hermandez, Funk Brothers Vs Dog and Tito are just mid, and Elmer vs Adrian and Hogan Vs Bundy are just weak. I get that this was only the second ever WrestleMania, the people of WWf were all still figuring out what a WrestleMania or a PPV in general truly was, and just experimenting, but WWF WrestleMania 2 (1986) is still just a really bad show whether it was split up to different venues or not."

California had one commendable outing, two that missed the mark, and one that felt like a complete waste of time. The commentary team was fairly solid though, so props to them. As a whole, though, this portion of the show averages at mediocre. [2.0] "This is the superior section of WrestleMania II and feels the most like a WM event, if that makes sense. Or at least the crowd in Los Angeles seem less miffed than the crowd in New York and Chicago. I imagine that's because they got to watch Hulk Hogan live. The only real blemish on this part of the card is the Adonis vs. Elmer, but the former worked hard enough to prevent it from being a total disaster. Ricky Steamboat and Hercules had a pretty decent match (**1/2), while Tito and JYD vs. The Funks is a bit of a sleeper (***). It feels very NWA in style compared to the rest of the card and Terry Funk's performance is pretty wonderful. The main event (**1/4) is very basic Hogan vs. monster formula, but Bundy is mobile enough to make it work and gets some nice colour. Nothing special or even good per se, but far from the worst WM event of all time."

The commentary was great, but really pity that there was a a lot of technical problems with quit bad audio, and also pity that Netflix edited the footage so wasn't with that much problems, yet still didn't fix the commentary audio. And i know that most of participants are already dead so could not do the re-recordnig but could use technology if they already deleted some scenes with dificulties"

Steamboats match was generic and forgettable even though I love him. Wrestlemania 2 is an absolute mess of a show and in contention for one of the worst shows in WWE history."

This goes no just for part 3 but for all of Wrestlemania 2, it was a mess and a step in the wrong direction after Wretlemania 1, all of the matches are somehow more forgettable than in the first Wrestlemania, and speaking of Wrestlemania 1, the only thing that prevented it from being a forgettable mess was the fact that it was the first ever event like it, Wrestlemania 2 is their second time, and they did not learn the right things, making this event a forgettable mess with no reason to actually watch it."

Every match was once again extremely boring or just bad, the tag team match was the only one I enjoyed, and overall this whole show was just a big fail, extremely disappointed with the main event because I thought it would give a different pace to Hogan's lazy style but no, it was the same thing with a giant blue cage. Horrific show overall."

[6.0] "Easily the best of the three parts of Wrestlemania 2. It obviously had the match with the most anticipation but the match actually delivered on a solid level that I did not expect. Steamboat gave us a decent effort in a quick fun match and the Tag Team Match might just be my match of the night. Now the Adonis vs Elmer match was bad but at least it was over quickly so all in all, this hour was much more fun than the previous two. You can basically watch three of the matches on here plus the Tag Team Championship Match in part 2 and you will have some decent bits of Wrestlemania."

I was tempted to say that the Steamboat/Hercules match was my favorite of the night but I also know that I've watched a lot of bad wrestling with this one. I also think I liked this location's card the most because I knew by the end that this whole event was finally over."

This hour ruled in comparison to the other two, with a solid Steamboat/Hercules match to start, a shockingly inoffensive Uncle Elmer/Adrian Adonis match, and the Terry Funk show that was the tag match. Then you had the main event, which I think is the best Hogan Mania match of the original Hulkamania run. An hour that saved this show from the doldrums."

At one point, we have overlapping/competing audio from a ring announcer in one venue, a wrestler cutting a promo interview in a second venue and the broadcast commentators in that second venue ALL AT ONCE. It is insane. We also have the "Where's the Beef" woman either with a dead mic or not understanding how to use a mic. And who could forget Susan St. James? Without a doubt, the most obnoxious, clueless and repetitive person to ever strap on a headset microphone for the WWF/WWE. "Uhhh ohhh". Yeah, "uh oh" is right whenever I rewatch this show and remember I have to choose between her and the mute button. Oh, the matches? A highly mixed bag of solid, occasionally good and terrible/pointless, but I think the better bouts were an improvement over WrestleMania I's best bouts. There's nothing even close to the quality of the Bulldogs vs Dream Team tag match back on WM1."

Ricky is a phenomenal wrestler I feel like he can have a great match with any opponent at this point. Next Adrian Adonis faced Uncle Elmer. This match was so bad that it's good. I laughed through out the whole match. The tag team match was good (this is probably the first JYD match I have ever seen probably). And then the famous Steel Cage match between Hogan and King Kong Bundy. This was fun to watch."

[5.0] "They definitely saved the best part of Wrestlemania 2 for the end. Besides the short stinker of Adonis vs. Elmer, the other matches were all average at worst. Ventura's mic problems and the poor quality really take away a bit of this for me. I almost wonder why they didn't switch his mic with Elvira's, because it's not like she's adding anything insightful anyway. The in-ring work of this Wrestlemania is better than the first, but the focus being on the different venues leaves storylines and pairings a bit more thin than they should have been."
JacquesRougeauCanHaveMyWife wrote on 09.09.2023:

Adonis bumped like crazy for Elmer and The Funk Brothers got the best match of the show out of The Junkyard Dog. The main event had a big match feeling and it might be the only time when Bundy felt like a real monster. Los Angeles were lucky to be the only ones with an actually good wrestling show on their hands."

The uncel elmer vs adrian adonis match was the 3rd worst match on the whole of mania behinde savge vs steel and piper vs T, it was the death of fun. The funck nros tag match was fine but felt like it could gave been more. The main event was a boring and anoying match that was the cherry ontop of this allredy very bad show called wrestlmania 2. Also the time wasting during the costraction of the cage was cring, i wish they would have just put on a match at one of the other venuse."

Halle 1 (New York) gets a solid two, Halle 2 (Chicago) a 3, and Halle 3 a five. There's like two, maybe three matches I remember fondly from this show as a whole."

The Funk Brothers was the match of the night and the main event, as bad as it was, was still a lot of fun to see Bundy get busted open and beaten down. Steamboat and Hercules had a watchable match, as Steamboat always delivered. But I still feel the Chicago portion was the best overall."
DanTalksRasslin wrote on 01.05.2023:
[6.0] "The final third of 'Mania 2, from LA, is the most consistently decent part of the event. Steamboat - who could seemingly do no wrong in the '80s and early '90s - put on a good smaller-vs.-bigger match with Hercules; Adonis bumped like crazy to get something passable out of Uncle Elmer; the Funks have a solid tag bout with Tito and JYD, and the Hogan-Bundy main event was a good spectacle (with the first appearance of the classic blue cage). With the three venues of 'Mania 2 respectively getting 1, 4 and 6 ratings, I'd average it out to a maybe-slightly-generous 4 rating for the entire event as a whole. Glad the multiple-venue format wasn't repeated... though nowadays I'd be happy to do away with the multiple-night approach as well."

While for what it is I actually had a surprisingly fun time with WrestleMania 1 which I expected to be quite boring meanwhile WrestleMania 2 was everything I excepted WrestleMania 1 to be boring and dragged on way too long. Expecting WrestleMania 3 to be much better."

Adonis/Elmer is awful nonsense and drags the show down once again. Neither the Tag Match or the Main Event are that interesting, but both are passable which is something. Wish the card had kept up the quality of the Tag Title match that closed the second segment of the show"

I gave the legs of the show a 3, 4, and 6 respectively which averages out to a 4 for the whole show, and while this is a more enjoyable watch than its reputation suggests, that seems fair enough."

Adonis/Elmer was pretty bad but Steamboat was working as only he can, the Funks vs JYD and Tito was fun and the main event was a lot better than I thought it'd be. Given it's bad reputation, I enjoyed Mania 2 as a whole a lot more than the first but it certainly wasn't a high level of "good" but in most cases bad enough to be entertaining or exceeding low expectations. Guess I'd give it a 5/10 for all 3 shows in total"

While there was nothing worth writing home about, I enjoyed the entire hour and never felt a lull in action as I did in the previous two hours. The tag match was a lot of fun and I personally think the main event is mildly underrated. If I was going to rate the three parts of this WM as a whole I'd likely go with a 4.0 for the entire event."

Believe it or not, that match isn't bad. In terms of Mania main events from this era, it's incredibly middle of the road. Better than Savage Dibiase, but not as good as Savage Hogan. Thin line I guess. Maybe I'm more down on the rest because it came after the shit NY card and shitter Chicago card but this card is big dookie crap. Go watch the main event so that you can say you've seen it. Skip the rest of these matches. Skip the whole show. This show sucks. I hate watching Wrestling sometimes. Why do I do this."

Uncle Elmer has no business being on PPV. Not back then, not now, not ever. Sorry. But wat really disappointed me was the main event. Even by 1986 WWE standards this was a weak match. No real drama, no excitement. Nothing. dragged the whole event down for me. This part of the show would get a 3/10 rating. Despite two decent matches, the main event was just not there for me."

There's nothing especially good, here, or memorable, and nothing on a par with the Bulldogs tag team match - which, in and of itself, wasn't a memorably fantastic match. Still, most of it wasn't bad, at least. Ricky Steamboat looked good and Hernandez was a fun monster, the tag team match was inoffensive, and you have a perfectly acceptable Hulk Hogan slays the big bad monster main event that doesn't do anything special, but works as a nice example of what the average Hogan program coudl be. Still, it just feels meh, and the Adrian Adonis/Uncle Elmer match really drags it down by just being offensively ugly. Add some bad commentary and weird time stuff, a herald of the whole night, and Wrestlemania 2 is kind of the inverse of WM1 - a show that's below the sum of its parts."
