[9.0] "An absolute wealth of talent on display here, you are spoilt for choice here for good matches. Everyone impressed during their matches, but I think Mike Bailey was the MVP of the night. This is around the time I first was introduced to them, and every match of theirs was must see. If you ever want to get someone into WCPW, and you don't have the time to take them through all of the lore, this would be a great show, just on match quality alone"

"I didn't watch the whole show but Ricochet vs Penta El Zero M. I think that that match was really good. I would give 8 points to that."

[6.0] "Ricochet -vs- Penta El Zero M – (Pro Wrestling World Cup – Quarter-Final) [***] Lucha Underground in Manchester! Very LU feel and that’s a positive. These two know how to work together with lost of flashy stuff and a smart finish. Penta looked like a sure winner toward the end, but was fooled by Ricochet in fine style. Joseph Conners -vs- Hiromu Takahashi – (Pro Wrestling World Cup – Quarter-Final) [**] Surprisingly grounded affair. Didn’t feel like a Takahashi match at all. He was in pure control, but he wasn’t going anywhere with his offense. And then a unimpressive Connor got his moment. Will Ospreay -vs- Mike Bailey – (Pro Wrestling World Cup – Quarter-Final) [*** 1/4] Bailey’s reputation is growing. He’s small and animated, but there is something about his timing and heart about his work which makes him steal all the attention. He managed to outshine Ospreay here and Ospreay was real good! Wouldn’t have minded a pure ecstasy finish, but even how it was handled it was a quality build-up. KUSHIDA -vs- Zack Sabre Jr. – (Pro Wrestling World Cup – Quarter-Final) [***] A damn solid match which never was at a point of taking off. Yet I was surprised when it ended at the time it did. Felt a lot shorter! The match was buzzing all the way and was the type of match which had you tangled and waiting."

[9.0] "Allowing for the fact that this is modern wrestling and every performer is super human and can not be harmed by seemingly devastating maneuvers , this was a great show . Nothing I would consider to be below a very good match . This was the second Penta/Rico match I watched today . While the other under their LU aliases may have been a bit smoother this one was also very enjoyable . The main while not a "clean" match had moments of absolute beauty and brilliance . Honestly this is the style of wrestling I prefer . Solid , sometimes impressive , mat work logically progressing and building to big moves or submission attempts . Having aid that the Bailey/Ospreay match was excellent if more of a gymnastic "ooh and aah" match . Hiromu Takahashi vs. Joseph Conners and KUSHIDA vs. Zack Sabre Jr. where great and my top match was Mike Bailey vs. Will Ospreay which was excellent ."

[8.0] "Penta/Ricochet: ***3/4. Match was great but stuff at the end took e a bit out of it and the finish was lame AF. Hiromu/Conners: ***1/4. First time seeing Conners. Comes off at first glance visually as a clone of Adam Cole, but not nearly as good a wrestler. Solid guy, not a top guy at all. Very basic wrestler. Match was good, but a bit too basic. Bailey/Ospreay: ****1/4. Tremendous. Bailey really felt like a star here. MOTN Easily. Sabre/KUSHIDA: ***3/4. This went too long. If they would have been given less time, the match would have been a bit faster, which would have helped. This had fun mat wrestling, but it never got out of 2nd gear. Great show, would have been better if it had another match or two on the under card."
