[1.0] "Hoo boy. I mean, it's easy to see why WCW only lasted another four months or so, right? This show was diabolical pretty much from back to front. Well, okay, it started on a passable level - the tag match was alright, very messy but with some good action that got the crowd riled up. The hardcore match did nothing for me, since it's not a style I like, but for what they were trying to do it could have been worse. And the MIA-NBK match was itself also pretty tepid but nothing terrible. It felt like the makings of a show that was alright, but nothing special. But then, of course, the real WCW booking had to hit the towers. A terrible mixed tag match that started off as a handicap match (drink), before an already completely watched Konnan came out to save the day. Then a stupid first blood match, a gimmick that is basically always terrible and was certainly never going to be elevated by the duo of babyface Buff Bagwell and David Flair of all people. And then, of course, the kickboxing match, a worked martial arts exhibition that managed to be even worse than the Mr. T-Piper worked boxing match all those years ago. I think I'd even rather rewatch the Brawl for All. Things tried to drag themselves back up after that - Mike Awesome hit a monster powerbomb to a less than enthusiastic Vampiro, for example, and Booker T and Scott Steiner had an okay if overly chaotic brawl, but there was also another dumb handicap match (drink) as Hugh Morrus took on Lance Storm and Jim Duggan, the Sting-Jarrett match was rife with seven thousand kinds of stupid interference and bad wrestling beside, and the "main event" was - you guessed it - a handicap match! (drink) I guess the fans enjoyed seeing Goldberg spear two hosses into oblivion but for me? Yawn central. This company deserved to die, I fear."

The six midcard matches in a row has to break some record of the worst matches ever consecutively. Sting-Jarett was funny, the hardcore title match was ok, awesome bomb is based, hilarious main event."

How the heck do you mess up a Jarrett vs Sting match? Whatever you have to say about the former, he could put on good matches when needed. And Mike Awesome vs Vampiro was just as bad! What the heck? This is a show that should never have happened."

Overall WCW Halloween Havoc (2000) is such a dumpster of a show."

The logo design and stage are so low effort that your granny could make a better set for a PPV in WWE 2K in 10 minutes with no idea of how the controller works. I don't look up obscure stuff, so this is firmly in the lead as the worst wrestling PPV I think I have ever seen."

[1.0] "This PPV was so particularly bad, it took me a while to actually finish it. [1st match] Visual pleasure but audible pain from the guest commentator. ***3/4 [2nd match] Maybe a little better than your average WCW Hardcore match? what cool spots there were weren't given enough time to sell, as they just moved on the next thing. **1/2 [3rd match] TV-style match tag match that was thrown together at the last minute, it was fine. **1/2 [4th match] Went too long and was a waste of time & talent. -** [5th match] A first blood match basically, a very one-sided one too. * [6th match]This is yet another attempt at sneaking another sport onto one of their shows, and this time it's kickboxing. It's extremely one-sided, boring and had outside interference, although strangely not from other NBT members. -**** [7th match] This seemed a rush to do as many things possible, until near the end when Vampiro had a visible pin (almost) until bailing outside to search for something under the ring. This just really showed how little he cared about that title shot if he beat Awesome. ** [8th match] For once the ending was the highlight. *1/2 [9th match] This match is basically one big angle, with Sting facing his past selves. Maybe could have worked with all the right minds & people involved, but it wasn't and it didn't. -** [9th match] All the good work in the match is undone by the dumb finish. They seemingly wanted this feud to carry over to another PPV for reasons unknown. ***1/4 [Main] Quite fun no-DQ sprint, but a weird choice for a PPV Main Event. **1/4 Quite possibly one of the worst PPVs of 2000, a 100% skippable show."

[1.0] "This show has a reputation of being one of the worst ever. It lulls you into a false sense of security with the first few matches being half decent, but lives down to its reputation with a solid half dozen of the worst matches ever put on PPV. The not-actually-main-event is watchable but nothing more, followed by an actual main event of a terrible Goldberg squash. One point for the decent matches, but the event as a whole was abysmal."

[4.0] "I try to forget about these days of WCW. I gave it a 4 because it? s genuinely not all bad here. The opening triangle tag team bout is highly entertaining, and the WCW title match was quite good as well. Scott Steiner was easily the best moment of the show with how dangerously brutal he was in the match. All in all, horrible pay per view with 2 quality matches."

[5.0] "This PPV is not good, but I can? t imagine why it? s the lowest rated WCW PPV of all time as it? s not even close to that bad, honestly it? s one of the better PPVs WCW did in 2000. That? s a very low bar, but here we are. The opening tag is actually very fun, and Wall/Reno is a solid garbage brawl, as far as the style goes anyway. MIA/Perfect Event is ok, not great but not bad either. The mixed tag match is the first real low point of the show, lots of using women as punching bags in that one without any real purpose. Doesn? t help than none of the four can really work worth a damn. David/Bagwell is a bad match with an incredibly dumb premise, one of the last vestiges of Russo. Sanders/Cat is the last part of a bad stretch on this show, a dumb structure for a match that does no one any favors. Things get MUCH better after this match, Awesome/Vampiro is actually an excellent match with some fun hardcore stuff and some very spirited spots. Storm/Duggan/Morrus is not that good but at least has heat. Sting/Jarrett is a big mess, with an army of Sting imposters getting involved, but you can? t really look away from it either. Booker/Steiner is, quite frankly, the WCW MOTY up to this point, even better than Steiner/Goldberg thanks to having less rampant intereference, and even though it? s a non-finish it? s a very credible one and massively gets Steiner over in his loose cannon persona. Goldberg/Kronik is a weird choice to end the show but the match isn? t bad, and at least makes Goldberg look strong. The show is about half complete crap, but there is actually some good stuff too which is more than I can say about a lot of the shows from this era. Russo is officially gone just prior to this show, and already the benefits are being reaped. It will be too little, too late, but I have some hope for this company now."

[2.0] "A show not without a few redeeming elements - the opening 3-way tag was actually quite good, Awesome vs Vampiro was a solid brawl with Vampiro taking some insane bumps (the last of which, from the Awesome Bomb off the top, left him legitimately injured for most of the rest of WCW's existence), and Steiner vs Booker was a fine World Title match until the DQ finish. But ultimately not much else worked here - Sting vs Jarrett rehashed the "Sting facing his past" angle from Halloween Havoc a decade earlier (and it was pretty lame in 1990 too) and the last of the triple main event was just Goldberg squashing Kronik for no real reason, and many matches featured needless run-ins, turns for the sake of turns (Luger), or general poor booking and lame storylines. Symptomatic of WCW in late 2000, as time for the company was starting to run short."
