Best match of the night has to be Like Rush vs Keith Lee, They did the giant vs the cruiserweight but with a twist, the giant moves like a cruiserweight, I love the in ring story of Lio Rush trying to overcome Lee who can move just like him. |

Callihan vs. KTB als Opener ging in Ordnung. Callihan ist halt immer so ne Sache und KTB hat da manchmal Mühe zu folgen, aber ging klar. Mixed Tag Team Match war dann auch eher fad. Penelope gewinnt ist aber gut. Das Titelmatch hat mir nicht gefallen. Tremont in halbwegs normalen Matches ist halt nicht wirklich was. Entweder Death Matches oder richtig wrestlen aber nichts so halbes. Der Clusterfuck hat seine Momente mit Invisible Man und Mortal Combat Spot, ist ansonsten aber auch komplett weird (was es ja auch wohl sein sollte) und hat mit Lloyd natürlich einen komplett falschen Sieger für mich. Rush gegen Lee ist in Ordnung, aber ein wenig schade wenn man weiß was beide noch so mehr könnten. Das Match bei PWG wäre halt absolute fantastisch. Janela erfüllt sich einen Wunsch und tritt gegen Jannetty an. Schön für Joey. Das Match ist dann komplett Chaos und Clusterfuck, Ref Bumps und ähnliches. Kann man sich geben, muss man aber nicht. RIddle gegen Severn war dann zum Abschluß nochmal ganz nett und zum Glück auch recht kurz gehalten. Das passte schon so. Gut das GCW auch bessere Shows hat. |

Rush gegen Keith Lee ist ok, aber Rush ist nicht Ricochet. Jannety war ok und der Main Event kein wirklich gutes Shoot Style Match aber ordentlich und das für mich beste Match dieser Veranstaltung. |

Perhaps it was the promise of babes & bikinis, yet there were none all night. Boo-Hoo! In addition, for a guy who had a very memorable '16, reached a popular critical mass, and was the namesake that sold the tickets, I was surprised Mr. Janela did not make an appearance until the semi-final. Big mistake! , as it removed an opportunity for Joey to further endear himself to the crowd. As it stood, he wrestled the washed-up Rocker in an overbooked and too-long encounter; this was a longer singles match than he has had in a decade. So I was placing ice into my room's large garbage can, rocking/rolling to myself, when I turned around and saw that someone was watching me. He was carrying this small, pathetic ice bucket. I finished, walked by the gent, who may have been M Jannetty, or at least the Japanese version of, and said, "This is how it's done. " How else would my craft beers get quickly chilled? Anyway, the convoluted Jannetty match did no favors to Janela, and impossibly he emerged from his own show no more over than when it started. And the people wanted to party. Many were decked in goofy beach wear, and were looking for something more than just another show filled w/ matches. Unfortunately, the show was like any other. Someone who had a good weekend was Sami C. and this was the first Sami Sprint of the weekend I got to enjoy. Allie/C Bomb showed some personality but the match was a 'who cares' mess. Kingston/Tremont had a bloody brawl that enlivened the crowd. W/ the impossible comebacks of unknown J Lloyd, the 'Cluster' felt like just that. And there was no Death? ! That was a way in which someone could be eliminated so I thought for sure the Grim Reaper would show up and play a game of chess. 'Excellent, Bergman. ' Severn destroyed Kingston in AIW, but this was much more interesting, a back-and-forth. 6. 25 |

Kingston/Tremont was not my cup of tea, but it had its moments. The gauntlet had its moments as well, but it was way too long and a mess. Killed the show for me. Rush/Lee was a solid match, but they are capable of a much stronger match. Janela worked around Marty's shortcomings fine and it was a spectacle. Severn/Riddle had a pretty solid match. There was not as much campy material as I would have liked on a show like this considering the hype for it going into the show, but it was a fine show overall. |

Great setup and atmosphere with the Janela´s Spring Break -theme. The announcer & crowd dressed up for the "spring break" and the ring surrounded by all sorts of props like beach balls and other inflatables. The commentary was hilarious. The card was versatile with focus being on entertainment. 3 serious matches and 3 more lighthearted ones. All matches fitted the evening well. 13 Man Clusterfuck, Keith Lee vs. Lio Rush, Joey Janela vs. Marty Jannetty & Dan Severn vs. Matt Riddle all worth watching. Severn vs. Riddle was a refreshing improvised shoot style match with an rough edge brought by Severn and it totally rocked despite Severn being confused at times. Janela vs. Marty Jannetty was the funniest sh*t of the decade with all the build up and post match promos. The action, commentary and run-ins, just brilliant, i don´t care what anyone says. |

| 29 | 03.04.2017 | Wrestling Forever | 6.0 | Der Anfang ist so bekloppt Janela will Geld sammeln damit er gegen Marty Jannetty kämpfen kann und bettelt Leute dafür an dann irgendwann findet er eine Flasche wo Scott Hall als Flaschengeist erscheint und Janela hat drei Wünsche frei und dann wünscht er sich zu letzt das er gegen Marty wrestlen kann. Der Event ist sehr WTF durch Excalibur als einer der Kommentatoren werdet es den Event auf. Total WTF das 4 Match vor allem wenn der Unsichtbare auftauchte und alle selbst sellten auch schon genial Mortal Kombat Musik und Ethan und Glacier standen da wie im Spiel. Das 4. Match erinnerte echt an die 90er mit diesen ganzen Trash Gimmicks. Veda sah auch als hätte sie sich im Gesicht verletzt. Etwas zu lang und meiner Meinung nach ein falscher Sieger (**1/2). Ok mein Match of the Night Keith Lee vs Lio Rush wenn auch nicht so stark wie erwartet (***1/4). Überhaupt nicht haben mir die letzten beiden Matches gefallen das letzte fühlte sich auch nicht wie ein MMA Fight an aber alles fair auch David hat da nicht eingegriffen. Bis zu Lee vs Rush war das ganz gut aber dann wurde es schwächer. Insgesamt schon unterhaltsam aber es gab auch schwächere Matches und zwei richtig schlechte am Schluss jedenfalls sah ich das so. Es reicht für 6 Punkte. |

Tag Match war nett **. Tremont vs Kingston war eine schöne blutige Schlacht, aber wahrlich nichts dolles ** 1/4. Clusterfuck wie bereits erwähnt etwas zu lange, aber insgesamt ganz spaßig ** 3/4. Lio Rush vs Keith Lee mein MOTN *** 3/4. Einfach ein schönes David vs Goliath Match. Janela vs Jannetty war einfach nur whacky *** 1/4. Und der Main Event war dann trotz des langsamen Severn (was kein wunder ist) ein schönes Shootfight Match welches mir Persönlich gut gefallen hat *** 1/2. Eine Show ohne ein schlechtes Match. |

Übertrieben mit drei Topes direkt am Anfang - so etwas passt schon eher in den Main Event. Die beiden machen Moves, dann macht Sami uns den Nick Gage und nach dem große Moves passierten gibt Kyle auf. Als Opener für mich einfach an der falschen Stelle. Das Mixed Tag beginnt mit Allie, die einen Bump für eine nicht existente Clotheline von Andy nimmt, gefolgt von soetwas wie Punches zwischen den Männern - unsäglich, direkt vergessen. Tremont bladed nach zwei Minuten ohne großen Grund, blutet fröhlich vor sich hin und den Fans gefällt es. Die beiden haben keine Luft für viel Action, so wird also schnell das ganze zum üblichen "Wander-Brawl", bei dem nix passiert. Zurück in den Ring, Platte aufgestellt, Death Valley Driver, Finish. Das Clusterfuck Match war genau das, ein absoluter Clusterfuck. Gab zwar auch Highlights (Entreance Themes, Page eliminiert Invisible Man, Mortal Combat Spot) aber eigentlich war jeder Spot ein Upfuck. Statt dann ein ernsthaftes Rush vs. Lee Match abzuhalten, gibts nach acht Minuten einen Refbumb, der aber schlußendlich keine Bedeutung hat. Match fand ich unterdurchschnittlich, Fans waren nach all dem Unfug vorher in der Card auch eher verhalten bis zum Ende. Richtig Panne im übrigen der Ringannouncer, der das Match am Handy mitfilmt und dabei die ganze Zeit am Ring entlang schawänzelt. Jannetty out of everything, sellt, Refbumb beim Superkick von Janela, der dann noch drei weitere Refs auf peinlichste Art ausschaltet, bis Earl Hebner kommt, man Montreal teast, Hebner schubst Janela, bekommt dafür aufs Maul. Virgil stolpert in den Ring, attackiert Janela, Marty geht dazwischen. Dann gibts sowas wie einen Canadian Destroyer, Nearfalls während gefühlt 10 Leute tot im Ring liegen. Nach gefühlten 35 Minuten gewinnt dann Janela (-****). Riddle vs. Severn mit richtig lahmen MMA Spots und Severn bewegt sich, als wären beide Knie und Hüfte komplett kaputt. |

The Hawaiian shirts, the pool noodles, the beach balls, the laser light show, the rotating commentary, the music, everything. Callihan vs KTB was a hot brawling sprint, a perfect way to showcase Kyle by having him work Sami's kind of match; I loved that the Liger Bomb/Stretch Muffler combo was the finish (***1/2). Williams & Penelope vs Allie & Sutter was better than expected; Andy is much better than you'd expect a musician working a match to be, and outside of a botch or two Penelope vs Allie was good stuff (***1/4). Tremont vs Kingston wasn't the tantamount of violence it was billed as, but it was a really good hardcore brawl where Tremont bled like crazy and bumped like crazy; didn't live up to expectations, but still the match you'd think these two would have (***1/2). The Clusterfuck is something everybody needs to see; a combination of so many different kinds of styles and workers in a 35-minute showcase of Janela's ideas just being executed wonderfully, and everything about it that felt imperfect just sort of worked with the Clusterfuck stipulation; Glacier was pretty good for a guy his age, I'd like to say as well (I can't rate this shit). Keith Lee vs Lio Rush was the workrate break in this wild sport entertainment show, and it delivered; not as awesome as Keith's match earlier with Ricochet, but still a great David/Goliath bout where Lio had the fire to fight the monstrous man in front of him and Keith was as incredible as usual (****). Janela vs Jannetty is some raw sports entertainment with like 6 ref bumps, HBK references galore, Virgil in a mask, and Jannetty hitting a DESTROYER, although the first half was a bit dull (***3/4). Severn vs Riddle was a really legit-feeling semi-shootstyle match; the matwork, striking, and submission work were so great and effortless, and the atmosphere was so good with Dan's belts and Starr in Riddle's corner (****). |

Lee/Rush was an awesome David vs. Goliath match (***1/2). Janela vs. Jannetty was an absolute spectacle - exactly as wacky as I predicted it would be. Excalibur's commentary during it was hilarious & so was Marty's post-match promo. Riddle/Severn was a legitimately super awesome shoot syle match, absolutely loved it (****). Here's to hoping that Joey Janela's Spring Break becomes a yearly WM Weekend tradition, because the first edition lived up to all the hype. What a goddamn show. Thumbs up big time! |
