[3.0] "Completely boring and forgettable. There were maybe 1-2 matches I enjoyed but other than that, it isn't very memorable. If anything, the only match that actually sticks out is Goldberg/Sid (and maybe Guerrero/Saturn). Also cant forget the Hogan/Sting fake out *chefs kiss*."

[3.0] "WCW's first PPV under the Russo-Ferrara creative team, and while not good, it also wasn't as bad as it would get, nor really was it as bad as some of the 1999 PPVs that preceded it. It certainly does show signs of what was to come though - tons of interference, turns for the sake of turns, distasteful sex angles, and general "crash TV" nonsense. Eddie Guerrero and Perry Saturn had easily the best match of the night, while Goldberg and Sid had quite a spectacle with Sid bleeding buckets and looking tough as hell in defeat. DDP and Flair, despite having a terrible backstory, had a decent strap match until the botched finish. Disco Inferno and Lash LeRoux had a decent opening match, marred by Lash turning for no real reason after the finish. Elsewhere, Goldberg squashing Sting for the title - but not really - made zero sense, while Bret losing clean by submission to a largely washed Luger was certainly a choice. Benoit wasn't able to get too much out of Rick Steiner at this point past some decent opening minutes of their bout. The Tag Title three-way hardcore match was rather standard with a confusing finish, but at least we got to see a plastic mummy involved in the backstage pinfall. And I have to say, the set design - with the giant inflatable devil and pumpkin - looked pretty rad; too bad it didn't get to be used for a better show."

Hogan walking out and laying down for Sting ruined an already bad show. The swerves, the interference's in just about every match, the shoddy dustyish finishes. This show forward until WCW's demise was the true end of days for the company as they weren't a threat to the WWF anymore who was in the middle of their 2nd golden age."

And if you can't guess, it was bad, combining the general awfulness of WCW at this point with the incoherent nonsense Russo favoured. Pay per views should not be heavy on promos and squash matches, although given the quality of a lot of the wrestling it wouldn't have made much difference. Two World Title changes in one show, both squash matches, is unbelievable. Also, fuck the Hulk Hogan for laying down like that in what was probably a shoot."

[0.0] "This is Russo's first PPV with him in charge, and it feels every bit of it. Gimmick-heavy, confusing finishes, swerves, overbooking... It's all here. [1st match] Reasonable opener, although there seemed to be some miscommunication on Lash's part, bizarre almost-turn by him post match also. **1/2 [2nd match] Oddly enjoyable in-ring & backstage brawl, well it was enjoyable until the first of what would be many controversial finishes of the night. ** [3rd match] Probably the best match of the night... that didn't have a finish. *** [4th match] TV-type match with a suprise winner (? ) considering the angle. ** [5th match] Dull match despite having Benoit in it. **3/4 [6th match] Made into a good match because of Bret's offense & selling. **1/4 [7th match] Maybe worse than the fingerpoke of doom? because at least that had some contact in it. DUD [8th match] Overbooked at times, but when it wasn't it was ok. *3/4 [9th match] Mostly walk & brawl with Flair of course bleeding. Yet another weird finish, where it was hard to determine whether it was a botch or storyline. Overly long stretcherjob & beat down for Flair post match. This was just horrible. 1/2* [Main] Bonus match for us lucky folks. Despite the commentators pre-match telling us that this was non-title... Goldberg wins the World Heavyweight title... Just beautiful. * This was such a contrast from the last PPV in the worst way possible, such an awfully frustrating PPV, avoid at all costs."

[0.0] "The much heralded 'new writers' have their first PPV under their belt, and it's filled with the usual Vince Russo tropes; worked shoots, nonsensical booking that is done purely because it surprises people, men swearing, women swearing, etc. I would give this show a 2, but that finish to Sting vs. Hogan just about killed WCW's PPV business, so on that alone, this show gets a 0."

[1.0] "Russo & Ferrara have arrived. The opening match is meh, the three way tag is ok, nothing special. I did enjoy the mummy. DDP and Kimberly come out and cut a terrible promo about Ric Flair spanking Kim. Eddie/Saturn is the match of the night with a horrible ending, as Flair comes out and beats Eddie with a crowbar. He also jams his tongue down Torrie's unwilling throat, which gets a pop in this disgusting era. Because Russo, we are told Torrie "likes" this. Next is a Bagwell promo where he complains about the "writers" from "up north", which is vomit inducing. Also Jeff Jarrett. Brad/Berlyn is passable but Wright's new gimmick is dead on arrival thanks to bad booking. Benoit/Rick is surprisingly decent, considering how bad Rick is, but another Russo style ending with Malenko nonsensically turning on Benoit. Luger/Bret is decent, then Madusa does a HORRIBLE segment where she appears in a bikini and throws "WCW cologne" on Bobby Heenan, while also complaining about the guys from "up north". The Sting/Hogan mess is an abomination, the less said the better. Goldberg/Sid is shockingly ok for a Sid match, mostly because he spends the whole thing bleeding like a stuck pig. DDP/Flair is a passable match with another bad ending, it's really unclear what even actually happened. After, DDP hits Flair in the nuts with a crowbar and then he's kidnapped by the Filthy Animals. Goldberg/Sting is a decent sprint but everyone was confused, including the crowd and even commentary."

[6.0] "A pretty terrible show but this rating is for Saturn/Eddie; despite the cheap ending the bout's fast-paced and the competitors are determined to put on a show for the crowd, especially the perennially tough-on-himself Eddie who about broke his wrist on a flop bump off the steel (as if they're ever a different material. ) Oh, I saw Torrie in-person the previous year and goodness was she skinny. However those dimples after a brief ride on Space Mountain are adorable."
