[3.0] "If I hear one more motorcycle roaring, I'm going to scream. Another tiresome WCW PPV with nothing truly exciting happening. They brought back the old Hogan character, and it still didn't feel like a grand moment - just another standard WCW main event from that era. Benoit vs Page was the best match on the show, but even that could have been much better with a stronger atmosphere. Meanwhile, they started bringing backyard wrestlers onto PPVs, as we had to sit through the ICP debut, Harlem Heat's return was completely wasted, and it felt like they had no idea what to do with Bagwell. Sid vs Sting had one of the most confusing finishes I've ever seen, Goldberg did his usual routine against Steiner, and Rodman dominating Savage for a large portion of the match was simply embarrassing."

[3.0] "[3.7] WCW's Road Wild '99 was another big disaster of a PPV for the company at the time. Not as god awful as last month's Bash at the Beach but still a bad showing. I don't understand why'd they run this show when it was a financial disaster every time. Only good match on this card is Benoit vs. DDP and the opening everything else ranged from horrendus to mediocre. We see Randy Savage's final full-time matchup and it was bad and the main event of Hogan vs. Nash was a generic Hogan hulk up match you'd see on a random Nitro in 1995. Overall, forgettable and really bad."

[3.0] "If anything ever improved on any Road Wild events, I'd say it's the visual spectacle, definitely not the Wrestling... absolutely not the Wrestling. [1st match] Okay-ish opener, but there wasn't much plan to it, everyone just seemed to want to get their moves in and sell little. Some of the outside the ring stuff was good though. **3/4 [2nd match] Very weak match for a title match, did not expect HH to win, as The Jersey Triad still seemed hot. ** [3rd match] Maybe slightly better than the opener, but not by much. Heelwork definitely better at least. *** [4th match] TV-style match that should have stayed on TV and not PPV. *1/2 [5th match] Intensive and exciting match (things not seen so far), but probably could have utilised the stip more. ***1/2 [6th match] Not a great match to push Sid as a monster and keep his "win streak" strong, that's for sure. *3/4 [7th match] Goldberg gave a lot to Steiner - who used Goldberg's knee brace as a weapon and somehow didn't get DQ-ed. Honestly this was more violent than the actual no-DQ match from earlier. Liked Goldberg's eventual comeback though, that spear was badass. ** [8th match] George must be Savage's spinach, as he got stronger when she came out. A strange match for a very strange feud. * [Main] Had more moves than their fingerpoke of doom match, but was still awful. 1/2* Give the US title a match if you really want to watch anything from this show, nothing else worth bothering with."

[3.0] "These Road Wild shows have been pretty lousy in general. This one wasn't any better. Nothing better than 5 stars on the card so there isn't anything to come back to this show for."

[0.0] "Over half of the people on the card were either way past their prime due to some combination of age, injuries and laziness, or not actually wrestlers in the first place, or worst of all are Goldberg. All but one match contains someone who should be nowhere near a PPV in 1999, and even in that one DDP is starting to slow down. Four zero rated matches and only one that makes it as high as average make this one of the worst PPVs ever, and it's made worse by the awful crowd and setting."

[3.0] "The Hog/Road Wild events were always mixed bags at best, and the final installment is no different (though its replacement in 2000's PPV lineup, New Blood Rising, was worse than any of them). The Hogan-Nash main event was very lethargic, even by the standards of the recent work the two had been putting in. Elsewhere, Benoit and DDP put on a decent match that was marred by the Triad's outside interference (which, nonsensically, Benoit's allies did nothing to fend off until after the match was over), Goldberg-R. Steiner was a surprisingly decent little match with Goldberg not quite able to squash a tougher opponent but still looking strong by beating him; Sid-Sting was somewhat shocking in how easily and cleanly Sid won; Savage-Rodman was at least interesting for its sheer lunacy; Bagwell-Cat was a dud; Harlem Heat-Bam Bam/Kanyon and Revolution-Rednecks were OK, and Filthy Animals-Vampiro/ICP was, somewhat surprsingly, a pretty good opener. The show generally demonstrates WCW's downward trend at this point, but at least isn't as bad as some of the dregs of the 2000s PPVs."

[1.0] "Gotta give another basement level grade, there are a couple matches you might call good at a stretch but nothing really worth checking out, and a whole lot of pure crap too. The opening six man is one of better matches, mostly thanks to the faces. The tag match that follows is not good, it's pretty boring and Booker should have been above this by now. The Rap is Crap feud continues to be one of the only good things in the company as they have probably the best match of the night, though it's certainly not great by any stretch. Miller/Bagwell is a horrible match where nothing happens and people dance like idiots. Seriously, just horrible. Benoit/DDP is probably actually good but I was incredibly uncomfortable with it, as DDP spends a lot of time choking Benoit with a belt and I just can't deal with that. Sting/Sid is not good but not as terrible as I thought it would be, so that's... something? Goldberg/Rick is a bad one, barely saved from being completely horrible at the end as Goldberg does a couple cool power moves. Savage/Rodman is, improbably, a solid brawl with lots of bells and whistles, not that good but actually not bad either. Hogan/Nash is an extremely dull main event, there was a small nostalgia element with Hogan back in the red and yellow but his performance was so generic, and Nash was dull as dishwater. It's no wonder WWF was crushing WCW by this point, their product is a huge mess."
