24.08.2022 | Suzukigun | 7.0 | An overall solid show, which turned out to be the first time Stardom ever visited the hallowed KBS Hall venue. The opener was an okay match between Kris Wolf and Ruaka, who had only had eight career matches before this one. Zoe Lucas and Hiromi Mimura's match was short and sadly that's the best I can say about it. The trios tag was fairly good, but the second half of this show really elevated it. Io and Konami had an excellent 10-minute match that got heated as it went on, and it felt like a Grand Prix match. The SWA Title match is one of the better gaijin vs gaijin matches you'll ever see in a Stardom ring. The main event was pretty good, albeit longer than it needed to be, but the post match segment was really good. Combine that with the beautiful venue, which elevates every show that happens there and makes every match more tolerable and easier to vibe with, and you've got a relatively decent show with a strong second half.

09.05.2017 | see base 2cubed | 4.0 | Show was in a spectacular venue with a huge stain glass window . First half of the show featured mainly works in progress and it was not very good . Second half was better but really the only good matches featured Shirai . The SWA title match was ok but nothing more . Viper should play more to her strengths instead of doing mat wrestling with nimble escapes . While it is semi impressive for someone of her size to attempt them she does not quite pull them off . She should be thinking Vader not Dean Malenko . Matches worth watching : Io Shirai vs. Konami and my top match was Kairi Hojo & Yoko Bito vs. Queen's Quest (HZK & Io Shirai)
11.04.2017 | jboyaquar | 5.0 | I allowed myself one Stardom show between 'Year-End Climax '16' and 'Stardom of Champions' and chose this for the very reason K Hojo was looking forward to this show, that stained-glass window. I have once attended a show at KBS Hall, DG on 11/3/11, and was gobsmacked being in its presence. My Judeo-Christian background imported a spiritual spectre over this most secular form of performance art and as such the Mochi/Saito Dream Gate defense came off as greater than perhaps it was. Anyway, sth that appealed to me was that Eng subtitles were in effect t/out the promo's/post Main-event discussion. Unfortunately, it didn't matter much as the majority of the native's promos were dull or apologetic for having to change the Main Event. Originally the Main was scheduled to be a 'Goddesses of Stardom' title defense, but Momo got hurt "in practice" and so HZK had to find a new partner that ended up being "Boss" Io. That was disappointing. The match was odd in that although Biko's a pretty good performer, she was out-of-the-ring for four years prior to returning last summer and as such she doesn't have the rhythm nor the accrued charisma of Hojo/Io. W/ HZK doing the least of the four, the match was a strange lay-out of the champs controlling more than they would on an average defense, and yet the tag formula came-through during the bout's second-half when the double-duty Io's arm-work successfully cut off KH for long spurts. It was fine but not anything anyone needs to see. The best match on this night was Io's singles encounter w/ her foe Kana's trainee, Konami, who pressed herself so much onto Io that the normally cocky champ had little time to display her regal feathers. The other bouts: 1) K Wolf is adorable but is not blessed w/ natural in-ring skill. 2) Zoe won me over by toying w/ the much shorter Mimura. 3) Baszler looked strong in victory though she's no preternatural M Riddle. 5) Disappointing, in that Viper's better suited as a overwhelming heel.

10.02.2017 | PistolPeteMatty | 8.0 | Kris Wolf vs. Ruaka ** -- Hiromi Mimura vs. Zoe Lucas *1/4 -- Jungle Kyouna, Tora Natsuko and Arisu Nanase vs. Shayna Baszler, Deonna Purrazzo and Christi Jaynes **1/2 -- Io Shirai vs. Konami ***1/2 -- Toni Storm vs. Viper ***3/4 -- Queen’s Quest (HZK and Io Shirai) vs. B-Y-Hoo (Kairi Hojo and Yoko Bito) **** -- A very fun show in an absolutely gorgeous venue. Main event, SWA Womens Title and Io vs. Konami are all highly recommended.
