[6.0] "I think this show is overly hated. The opener shouldn't be on this card but would have been a great match to have on Nitro. Glacier vs. Wrath wasn't a bad match and clearly the crowd was into it just like I was. Stevie Ray vs. Konnan was shit I'm not defending that. Cruiserweights steal the show as usual, plus Rey Mysterio getting comedically chased out be the LWO was funny. TV title match was okay, appreciation for Jericho selling his injuries for the WW3 match. I love battle royals but this was clearly Kevin Nash having complete control and making himself look good. Most of the match was on him and it's ridiculous. The US title match ends the night and I usually would complain that this was but after seeing the WW3 match I get it. Oh I forgot about Saturn has hit rock bottom."

[4.0] "It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, mainly because the World War 3 Battle Royal bollocks wasn't the main event and frankly it was the best edition of this fiasco of a stipulation, but at the same time nothing really stood out. Kidman vs Guerrera was very solid, high-flying action with some clever ways of using all three rings, while Jericho vs Duncum was a nice throw-back to the old NWA style. The rest though was average at best or just plain awful like Stevie Ray vs Konnan. Wrath vs Glacier surprisingly had one of the loudest responses, even though the match itself wasn't anything special, the Tag Team Match was alright, but they absolutely ruined poor Saturn already and the main event was disappointing. Bret seemed like he didn't care anymore and even energetic Page couldn't get anything more than just an acceptable bout out of him. So yeah, I guess it was more watchable than recent WCW PPVs, but it's still wasn't enjoyable."

[0.0] "People go around saying that Great American Bash 91 or King of the Ring 95 is the worst Pay Per View ever, and neither of those two events are barn burners, but this show should honestly be near the top of the list, if not right at the very top. Terrible wrestling, awful booking decisions and an insulting disregard for the paying customer make this one of the most offensive events of all time. The fact that WCW would brazenly not deliver two advertised matches in the way they did here was utterly sickening, and its no surprise that people were switching over to Raw in droves on Monday nights. Vince Russo rightly gets a lot of stick for how bad things got in 99 and 2000, but whats ignored is that Bischoff and Nash had already hit the iceberg long before Vinny Roo jumped aboard the Titanic with awful shows like this. It truly amazes me that this show doesnt get more of a mention when the worst shows of all time are discussed. Somehow its slipped under the radar, possibly because Goldberg getting jobbed at Starrcade kind of eclipsed it as the stupidest thing WCW did during the time period. However, dont let this show get an easy ride anymore! Lets remove the stone under which it hides and expose it to the world. Shout it loud from the rooftops, "WCW World War 3 1998 is absolutely terrible!"

[3.0] "I didn't learn my lesson from Fall Brawl 98. I also bought this PPV back in the day and it was just as terrible! Maybe slightly better than Fall Brawl but they flat out screwed the paying customers who bought this show thinking they would get a Steiners match and a Nash Vs Hall match and both of those matches were turned into nWo segments. Also, they advertised Booker T wrestling Scott Norton for the IWGP title earlier in the weeks leading up to the show, but then conveniently ignored any mention of that match ever happening tonight. Typical WCW jerking off the fans at this time."

[4.0] "Some rough early matches until you get to the title matches, and even the Three Ring Battle Royal wasn't all that bad. Just feels like yet another weaker show because the World Heavyweight title isn't on the line. Some of the angles didn't really deliver also. US Title match best match of the show."

[4.0] "There's two matches that make this more than a total bomb. We start witth three terrible matches as WCW keeps trying to push the faceless Wrath and the hated Ernest Miller, not hated because he's a good heel but because he's terrible in the ring and never looks like he knows what he's doing. Then we're finally saved by the Cruiserweight, accompanied by the reveal of Juvie as the newest nWo member. Really damn fine match between Juvie and Kidman, both coming off as hella strong, and it takes interference from a pissed off Mysterio to secure the win for Kidman, before Mysterio ditches the LWO post-match. Even Jericho v Duncum was pretty solid, even if I still don't get the Duncum push out of nowhere. Even Ralphus got involved this time. There's also some more drama between the Steiners, this time with Goldberg involved and Scott flipping him off in the middle of the ring. Scott Hall is kicked out of the nWo, Nash beats up EVERYONE but turns his back on Hall. Even if I didn't already know it, I'd assume Nash was the one pulling the strings now. Let's just ignore the entire battle royale, which nash wins after clearing his own ring in a minute and then backstabbing Luger at the end. The finale was actually pretty solid, but we LITERALLY saw this match twice in the last couple of months, and the ending is just strange with the nWo ref getting involved after the match ref gets knocked out. Overall, this was not a great PPV. Buuuut, at least there were two good matches and one decent match."

[6.0] "I was at this event live, so I will be rating the parts I remember and noting what I don't remember. The Wrath/Glacier match was not on the published card and was a squash but Glacier's entrance looked great in that big arena and Wrath did look really good *1/2. I remember disliking the Stevie Ray/Konnan match because I disliked both guys and it ended in a DQ zero*. I Honestly don't remember the Cat and Saturn match. I didn't leave my seats the whole night so it's not like I was getting food or in the bathroom, the match was just that forgettable. Kidman vs. Juventud was a very good match and Kidman got a huge pop when he won ***1/2. Jericho vs. Duncum was better than it had any right to be, solely because of Jericho **. WW3 match was I thought really good, I mean, I was really excited the whole time and Kevin Nash got a huge pop when he won and I thought it was solidly booked ***. DDP vs. Hart was a solid match for the first half but the end was very confusing in the arena and the use of Scott Steiner's NWO ref seemed random and out of place **. Would have been *** with a clean finish. Oh yeah, the Steiner match not happening pissed a lot of people off, which I think was what they wanted but instead of a lot of heat for Scott they more got a lot of "another jerk-around by WCW"."

[3.0] "There are three matches that are good or better on this card, and the rest is basically complete crap, so a three seems reasonable. Wrath/Glacier is a meh match, and Konnan/Stevie is frankly a horribly boring match that never should have been on PPV. The following tag match isn't good and Sonny Onoo should have been let go years before. Kidman/Juvi is definitely the match of the night, a great cruiserweight bout and one of the best uses of the three ring set up for creative spots ever. We plunge back into crap as once again we are teasing the story that won't die, a million ways the Steiners can feud but not have a real match together. For some reason Goldberg gets involved in this segment, the most popular man on the planet after Steve Austin AND world champ and he's playing supporting role in Steiner drama. nWo Hollywood kicks out Scott Hall for unclear reasons, then Kevin Nash literally beats up all of them singlehandedly. Yup, Nash is booking now. Jericho/Duncum is actually quite good props to them, but like always the WW3 match is a complete and utter waste, practically unwatchable until the final couple minutes when you can actually see. All you'll see is Nash betray Luger for no reason and get all the shine yet again, because he's the head booker now. DDP/Bret is actually an excellent main event, sans some a very stupid ref bump towards the end, but by and large it's a good capper to a most crappy show."

[6.0] "This wasn't so bad. DDP vs. Bret, Kidman vs. Juvi and Jericho vs. Duncum were all good matches, and the WW3 battle royal was, as ever, a cluster, but it was one that I always enjoyed. This iteration of the 3-ring battle royal, which would be WCW's last, was somewhat shorter than the others and, in the early going, did seem a little rushed, but the endgame played out well with the intrigue between Nash and Hall and the Mexican standoff with Nash, Hall and Luger as the final three. The first three matches on the card weren't anything worth writing home about, but the rest of the show was enjoyable enough."
