[9.0] "This show was so great, like maybe the best of want to see in a Korakuen Hall, with 3 big title matches and a very solid undercard. This show was very important for Pro Wrestling NOAH because it was the first show of 2017, and also the starts of a new era. With Katsuhiko Nakajima as Champion, Kenoh, the return of Go Shiozaki, Masa Kitamiya, Kaito Kiyomiya... The first 3 singles were some solid 10min action, very classic, but the match between Daisuke Harada and a young version of Kaito Kiyomiya was really impressive. Then we had a cool tag match action between Kenoh/Kitamiya vs Yone/Saito, to find a new team to challenge for the GHC Heavyweight Tag Title. Hajime Ohara beat Ishimori in a great match for the vakant GHC Junior Heavyweight. As a Semi Main Event we had a tremendous ghc heavyweight tag title match, Shiozaki and Taniguchi are one of the most underated tag team ever for me, this match against Naomichi Marufuji and Atsushi Kotoge was so intense, Kotoge he even ended up with a bloody face after his powerful headbutt against Go Shiozaki, I was blown away. And Katsuhiko Nakajima retains the GHC Heavyweight Title in an absolute amazing 30min match against the legend Takashi Sugiura, for sure my favorite match of the night, This match clearly lived up to expectations, clearly showing the direction towards the new era that Pro Wrestling NOAH is taking. I'm so happy to see Katsuhiko Nakajima as GHC Champion, this show was so excellent, i'm really excited to watch the others shows from 2017 in my Pro Wrestling NOAH's marathon, i have such a grea titme watching my favorite wrestling promotion of all time."
[9.0] "Daisuke Harada vs. Kaito Kiyomiya Really good match. Kiyomiya showing great promise here against Harada. Harada dominates the entire match as expected, attacking the lower back of Kiyomiya early in the match before testing Kiyomiya's will with forearm strikes. Kiyomiya shows loads of fight and fire but is clearly out of his element. (***1/2). Hajime Ohara vs. Taiji Ishimori-I hate to say it could've been better because this is a very good match and I feel ungrateful for saying it but it could've been better. A slow start with not much going on lowered the quality of it imo. Eventually they kicked into action and they had a great back and forth match. Ohara focusing his attack on the lower back throughout. Ishimori bring out hi greatest hits, hitting some spectacular moves. (***3/4). Go Shiozaki & Maybach Taniguchi (c) vs. Atsushi Kotoge & Naomichi Marufuji - If you look at the match face value, there isn't much story to it. It's mostly 4 men hitting each other really hard for 30 minutes; it was awesome. What was the story however was Kotoge holding his own against the heavyweights (after only moving up from the Juniors) which was a nice story to tell even if it's not much to go on. Kotoge put in a performance of a life time against Shiozaki, splitting him out with his famous headbutts. Taniguchi and Marufuji had some great moments including the chops on the outside. Overall, it's really good match with a simple structure (****1/4). GHC Heavyweight Title Match ~ Katsuhiko Nakajima (c) vs. Takashi Sugiura - Great, great match. Nakajima vs Sugiura have yet another great match together. It wasn't better than their 2016 classic but still tremendous. Sugiura showing loads off aggression, cheating at times with the closed fist, attacking the back of Nakajima. Trying to bully him in many ways but Nakajima wasn't standing for it, laying in some nasty strikes, proving himself to be a dominant challenger and not the kid that can be picked on anymore. ****1/2"

[6.0] "I feel for NOAH. They really wanted to do something amazing for their first show of 2017. And they did. Just not revolutionary as they’d hoped. They basically drained their fans dry with long matches, resulting in months of barely drawing 600 fans to the Korakuen Hall. Masa Kitamiya & Kenou -vs- Mohammed Yone & Akitoshi Saito [** 1/2] NUT STOMP! Just punctuating that this was bad-ass overall! Give me more Kenou! Hajime Ohara -vs- Taiji Ishimori – (GHC Junior Title Decision Match) [***] — Nifty stuff for the vacant GHC Junior Heavyweight Title! Unfortunately it took a while before this got steam, but it always had spectacular stuff happening. Ishimori is one fluid flier! Style deluxe! If only there was more substance. Go Shiozaki & Maybach Taniguchi -vs- Naomichi Marufuji & Atsushi Kotoge – (GHC Tag Title) [** 3/4] - Random stuff for 30 minutes. General beating the crap out of each other, which isn’t a bad thing. But it’s not like everything magically turns amazing if you reach the 30 minute mark, which is what the NOAH masters seems to think. Katsuhiko Nakajima -vs- Takashi Sugiura – (GHC Title) [***] - Brutal and with a purpose. Also practically no flow. Weird experience as it shows how awesome NOAH can be, yet trapped within their own drained creativity of overly long matches going nowhere forever. They tire their fans needlessly. This match would have been automatically better had it been half its length."
[8.0] "An awesome start to NOAH's 2017! Ogawa vs Kumano was nice with Ogawa's domination and Kumano's hope spots. **3/4. Saez vs Hi69 had some nice sequences with solid chemistry. ***. Harada vs Kiyomiya was good, with Kiyomiya as the fiery youngster and Harada as the pissed-off veteran. ***. Saito & Yone vs Kenou & Kitamiya had many stiff strikes. Kitamiya's energy was infectious and Kenou's kicks were very smooth. ***1/4. The second half of the card was really great. Ohara vs Ishimori for the vacant GHC Jr. Heavyweight title was a very strong high flying match with cool spots, near perfect chemistry, and great passion from both wrestlers. Ohara's strong crowd support added a lot of drama to his struggle. ***3/4-****. Shiozaki & Taniguchi vs Marufuji & Kotoge was a great trial by fire for Kotoge in his first heavyweight match. Shiozaki and Taniguchi were brutal with him, but Kotoge fought back valiantly, becoming a fantastic underdog. Shiozaki was awesome as always: incredibly pissed off and resilient all match long. Kotoge's headbutt to Shiozaki and the large amount of blood that followed was amazing to see. Lots of great near-falls too. ****. Nakajima vs Sugiura was better than their 2016 match. Nakajima played a strong underdog and Sugiura savagely dominated him. The tension didn't always build up properly but it was mostly great. I still feel Nakajima is a lifeless GHC champ at times, but while he is still putting on great matches I can't really complain. ***3/4-****."
[9.0] "Not only is NOAh reborn the entire roster seems to be recharged as well . Ogawa in particular showing a lot of fire . HI69 has been a positive addition . No bad matches . The 3 title matches where top notch . The tag title match was entertaining and moving along nicely and then after the head butt it went nuclear . I am not a fan of juice for juices sake but when used properly , and in this case I believe it was hard way , it can add drama and intensity . matches worth watching : all of them and my top match was : Go Shiozaki & Maybach Taniguchi (c) vs. Atsushi Kotoge & Naomichi Marufuji ."
