[5.0] "This is just another basic NJPW all-tag match show. All of the top guys were recovering from the night before and took things slow. There were some cool story moments and some interesting matches they are building up but overall these NJPW all tag match shows aren't too interesting even when the matches are good."
[6.0] "Die Show nach Wrestle Kingdom 11 ist die Typische New Year Dash Show wie man sie aus den Jahren davor kennt mit 2-3 Guten Matches und der Aufbau von neuen Fehden. Opener war okay (**1/2), Bullet Club vs Gunn & yoshitatsu war schwach (**1/4), Team2000 vs Bullet Club hatte einige gute Aktionen und Cheeseburger hatte sein Jährlichen New Japan Moment (**1/2) Roopongi Vice & Yoshi-Hashi vs Young Bucks & Cole war eines der besseren Bucks Matches und konnte gut unterhalten (***1/4) KUSHIDA & Elgin vs LIJ und das Ten Man Tag Amtxh waren die Besten Matches am Abend (***1/2) Und das Highlight der Show war die Rückkehr von Suzuki-gun genau so bringt man ein Heel Stable zurück, Suzuki gehört einfach zu New Japan! Los Ingobernables de Japon vs Tanahashi, Taguchi & Nakanishi War ein solider ME und eine sehr schöne Geste Nakanishi ein letzten Title Run zugeben (***1/4)"
[7.0] "The event was pretty solid overall. The matches that were recommended were the better matches on the show while the ones that weren't were not as good. The ten man tag match was the best on the show. Juice looked good gaining the win for his team as well as getting a NEVER openweight title shot against Goto. The post match was a big moment on the show with the return of Suzuki Gun. Both LIJ matches were good to me. I'd say the NEVER openweight six man was better as far as feeling satisfied that Tanahashi, Nakanishi, and Taguchi won the belts. I thought they made a good team as well. EVIL, SANADA, and BUSHI worked really well as a team per usual. Elgin and KUSHIDA vs Naito and Takahashi was good too and Elgin was impressive. It also had a cool run in by Dragon Lee. The Elite vs YOSHI-HASHI and Roppongi Vice was a fairly good match. It was cool seeing YOSHI-HASHI get the win but not so much him getting destroyed after but the win overshadowed the beat down. The worst match on the show was Billy Gunn and Yoshi-tatsu vs Yujiro Takahashi and Hangman Page."
[8.0] "Opener war kurz aber dafür sehr fast geworked und sehr unterhaltsam. Das Tag Team Match danach das Schwächste Match der Show. Das Match zwischen der Superkliq und CHAOS war sehr Gut. Wie man hier auch noch mit reingebracht hat das Romero Baretta davon abhalten wollte den Dive zuzeigen da er ja bei dem Match zwischen ihnen und den Young Bucks fehlgeschlagen ist war einfach fabelhaft (***1/2). Bei dem Match TEAM2000 vs. Bullet Club waren auch noch Szenen dabei wo man einfach das grinsen nicht aufhören konnte. Wie man hier Cheeseburger auch noch in's Match mit eingebracht hat war Super (***). Kushida & Michael Elgin vs. Naito & Takahashi war auch extrem stark umgesetzt. Match war super und das danach noch Dragon Lee auftaucht und Takahashi um den IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title herausforder, einfach super (***3/4). Ten Man Tag Team Match sehr stark. Scheint so als ob Robinson da ein Titlematch bekommt und die Fehde zwischen Shibata und Ospreay gefällt mir auch. Das dann Suzuki-Gun auftaucht war sehr überraschend. Match wie gesagt stark (****). Der ME war dann wie ich fand nicht einem ME würdig. Das LIJ die Titel so schnell wieder verlieren hätte ich nicht gedacht und das sie so schnell wechseln, find ich ehrlich gesagt sehr schade. Fazit: Eine Gute Show nach WK 11 und ''MotN'' war für mich das Match zwischen Team Okada und Team Shibata."
[4.0] "The calm-down after the massive Tokyo Dome show the day before. Mostly just a bunch of throw-away tag matches and a novelty title bout. Best matches at the ** to ** 1/4 range, with the one with the most purpose being Michael Elgin & KUSHIDA -vs- Tetsuya Naito & Hiromi Takahashi [** 1/4] - Neito feeling the effects after his great match with Hiroshi Tanahashi the day before wasn’t in a fighting mood. Damaged, Elgin basically destroyed him. Plus Dragon Lee came out and interfered doing as spectacular dive crashing hard on the railings."
[6.0] "The show was more about the set up for the next 6 months than match quality . Some of the matches where decent . Some of the guys took it easy after breaking their backs the night before . Matches worth watching : BULLET CLUB (Adam Cole, Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) vs. CHAOS (Beretta, Rocky Romero & YOSHI-HASHI) , KUSHIDA & Michael Elgin vs. Los Ingobernables de Japon (Hiromu Takahashi & Tetsuya Naito) , Los Ingobernables de Japon (BUSHI, EVIL & SANADA) (c) vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi, Manabu Nakanishi & Ryusuke Taguchi and my top match was CHAOS (Hirooki Goto, Kazuchika Okada, Tomohiro Ishii, Toru Yano & Will Ospreay) vs. Great Bash Heel (Togi Makabe & Tomoaki Honma), Juice Robinson, Katsuyori Shibata & Yuji Nagata ."
[8.0] "A very solid underrated show the night after Wrestle Kingdom. Set NJPW on its path into 2017. The tan man tag was just an awesome display of what each guy can do and the other tag matches ranged from very good to fair."
[7.0] "Durchschnittliche Show, wenn man aber bedenkt das am Tag vorher noch WK 11 war, gibts von mir trotzdem 7 Punkte. Als Minoru Suzuki Fan freut es mich das Suzuki-Gun zurück sind. Bin gespannt wies weiter geht."
[6.0] "After tiring night with Wrestle Kingdom, matches on this show was only solid. But New Year Dash 2017 is new feud's and Suzuki-gun return. Do not be changed holders NEVER Openweight 6 Man Tag Team Titles because Sanada, Bushi and Evil they had a chance to become the strongest champions who every had this titles."
[7.0] "Erneut eine tolle New Year Dash Show von New Japan, die wie in jedem Jahr wichtigen Weichen stellt und die Fehden der nächsten Monate einleitet. Juice Robinson vs. Hirooki Goto, Suzuki-Gun vs. Chaos, Elgin vs. Naito wurden allesamt eingeleitet. Suzuki-Gun bekam sehr gute Reaktionen und ich bin mal gespannt, wie man sie einsetzen wird. Neben den Fehden, gab es allerdings auch gutes Wrestling. Hat mir alles sehr gefallen."
[7.0] "I do enjoy these New Year Dash shows as it seems a super appreciative crowd there. One major plus point: SUZUKI FUCKING GUN. Hell yeah, really really wanna see Suzuki v Naito now. One major negative: the NEVER 6-man belts changed hands again when LIJ should be holding those things for a good while."
[4.0] "Opener (*½). BC vs. Hunters (¾*). RPG Vice & YOSHI-HASHI vs. Young Bucks & Cole (**¾). Team 2000 vs. BULLET CLUB (DUD). Elgin & KUSHIDA vs. Takahashi & Naito war dann ein echt gutes Tag Match. Am Ende gab es einen netten Refbump, durch den Dragon Lee nun mit Takahashi seine Fehde in NJPW weiterführt und Elgin Naito pinnt (***½). GBH, Nagata, Shibata & Robinson vs. CHAOS (**½). Dass Juice Goto pinnt ist Bullshit. Der Kerl ist noch viel zu schlecht für so einen großen Spot, er wird in dem Match untergehen. Die Szene danach war dann jedoch göttlich. Suzuki-Gun kehrt zurück und will CHAOS & Okada zerstören. Es wird KES vs. Ishii & Yano um die Tag Titel geben und Okada vs. Suzuki. Okada vs. Suzuki ist einfach eine göttliche Ansetzung. ME (**). Neue Champs... naja... Insgesamt sind das dann 4, 14 von 10 Punkten - 'ausreichend'."
[6.0] "Mal wieder eine absolut Solide New Year Dash show. Natürlich war es nicht die beste Show des Jahres, aber das sollte man auch nicht erwarten. Erstens kommen alle Wrestler aus einer sehr anstrengenden Wrestle Kingdom Show und zweitens ist dies nur eine lockere Aufbaushow für die nächsten größeren Shows. Die Matches waren allesamt solide. MOTN war für mich Kushida und Elgin vs Naito und Takahashi und das schwächste Match am Abend war für mich wohl der Main Event, da dieser mich etwas enttäuscht hat und ich absolut nichts mit Nakanishi anfangen kann. Insgesamt eine leicht zu guckende Show."
[6.0] "This is basically the post-WrestleMania Monday Night Raw of New Japan, for those not in the know. They have a bunch of shorter, way less intense matches that set up the programs for the new year, along with some angles to the same effect. The big angle on this show was the return of Suzuki-gun, and it was /awesome/. It immediately established the stable as a serious threat, and injected precious new blood into the company. Minoru Suzuki was sorely missed the past couple years, and the combination of not having been seen in so long, with the dominance of his NOAH run and the quality of his matches there (that many NJPW viewers probably didn't see, but are likely still aware of), and the way in which he returned have really made him seem like the biggest deal he's been in ages, providing a much-needed new challenge for the title scene. All of that combined with Okada's visibly-battered physical state coming off his Wrestle Kingdom victory also helps sell the idea that he could actually finally win the title. (He won't, but the mere fact that I don't feel 100% sure about it is really telling. ) Outside of that angle, this show was sometimes fun, but completely skippable. No standout match, and a frustrating booking decision in the main event. The most impressive match on this card was The Young Bucks & Adam Cole match, and you'll almost definitely get the chance to see them later, working a lot harder than they did here."

Mein Match of the Night war das Tag Team Match KUSHIDA & Michael Elgin vs. Los Ingobernables de Japon (Hiromu Takahashi & Tetsuya Naito) (***1/2). Auch sonst gab es einige gute Matches zu sehen. Hier macht man nichts falsch wenn man sich es ansieht ich wurde gut unterhalten, 7 Punkte."
