[9.0] "Awesome ppv with only one match that I wouldn't happily revisit. Sadly that match is the main event, as its kinda a bore imo, and it takes AWHILE to get going, as both work similar styles, and it hurts the match more than it helps. Adam's debut afterwards makes it a bit better though. Ember vs Asuka is a perfect match, made even better as its a direct continuation on the story of their last battle. Itami vs. Black is a great physical battle, with some good back and forth action. SAnitY vs. AOP is good, with a cool table spot, hype finish, and also has the upgrade of being followed by the debut of reDRAGON. And Andrade vs. Gargano is an outstanding, electric opener. Both out do themselves, Andrade and Zelina are on demon time here, pulling out devious tricks to win, with a good ending where Vega throws a #DIY shirt at Gargano, stunning him for long enough for Andrade to hit a dropkick, and then quickly follow with the Hammerlock DDT."

Overall NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn 3 (2017) is a really phenomenal show thanks it's real fantastic in ring product and the debuts of what would be the best stable in the brand's history."

"I remember this one really fondly. I actually prefer this Andrade/Gargano match to their 4x longer bout at Philadelphia, with the amazing finish involving the #DIY shirt. NXT Andrade and Zelina were once in a lifetime. SAnitY and AOP had an incredibly memorable match, Asuka had her best title defense and McIntyre reaching glory so quickly only for UE to run in and make a statement was awesome."

[8.0] "I was in the crowd for this one, so I may have a more positive view of this show than I might have had I not been there. Having been there though, I thought this show was pretty sweet, No bad matches on the show along with a fantastic match between Asuka and Ember Moon (Ember should have won, dammit! ) compounded by the debut of ReDRagon and Adam Cole (who would form Undisputed Era soon after this) make this a 100% recommend from me big dog. It is funny seeing everyone boo Drew Mcintyre as a face even in 2017, proving that the poor guy just can't get the people behind him for too long before they turn on him. That's not a dig, I love Mcintyre but the guy just can't be a face for some reason in WWE. Did he have this issue in TNA' Who knows man. Anyway, this show is pretty good. A good representation of pre UE NXT."

[5.0] "Pretty boring show. I initially really enjoyed the Gargano vs Almas opener, but on a rewatch I was heavily disappointed by how spot-heavy it was, with zero story or psychology. It still had a cool pace, but not much else. Just a try-hard epic like their rematch. **3/4. AOP vs Sanity was annoying. AOP dominated NXT's tag team scene, beating the best teams and having some great matches, but here they lose to some some cringeworthy wrestlers best described as cartoon characters. Slow brawl to start and too many interferences by the end. **1/4. Itami vs Black was "tic-tac" style, i. e. mma-strikes with far too many fabricated impact sounds from leg-slaps, feeling super fake. Chemistry was a mess but better by the end, as we even got some great exchanges around this point. Itami sadly failed at getting heat some times. ***. Asuka vs Moon was my MOTN. Both wrestlers played their roles well Asuka was great with her smugness, and Moon was a great underdog babyface but looked TOO helpless in her selling at times. Some exciting spots and sequences, especially in the finish. ***1/4. Roode vs McIntyre was a total borefest. Neither communicated any real personality or interesting match psychology. It felt just like they were going through the motions for at least 30 minutes, despite actually going 20 minutes. Technique wasn't anything too special either. Extremely disappointing main event. **"

Next was the match for the Tag Team titles and I really liked it - ****. Black vs Itami was stiff and easily the best Itami match I've seen in NXT, really gret stuff. - ****1/4. Asuka vs Ember Moon's match was the best thing on the show and the show had really good matches, incredible match for the Women's Championship, just as good as Sasha vs Bayley in Brooklyn-****1/2 The Main Event between McIntyre and Roode for the NXT Championship was really good, both are really great workers and I thought it was one hell of a match ****1/4."

Sanity match – 9/10 – Extremely good match with lots of hard hitting action. Very good brawling type match. **1 Extra point for Fish, Riley attack** Aliester Black match – 8. 5/10 – Very hard-hitting match. Like the new attitude of Hideo and Black is as savage as ever. Asuka match – 3/10 – Boring outcome and still does not make me a fan of womens wrestling Drew McIntyre match – 3. 5/10 – Bobby Roode is completely boring but great for McIntyre to win the title."

Itami/black was another very good hard hitting match, both kicked the shit out of each other. Women match was also great, good storytelling, selling by moon was good, too. Ember got big ovation after match for sure. ME was a total bore, crowd was dead, the action was boring. The only good moment was post match where cole, o reilly, fish attacked both. Would have been 10 if you had removed the main event."

It seems counter intuitive that your developmental and main programs would employ two near completely different styles of wrestling . This show was excellent . Nothing I would consider to be below very good . 3 excellent matches to close the show and besides the unnecessary mini concerts the focus of this show was on the wrestling . Andrade Almas (w/Zelina Vega) vs. Johnny Gargano was great . Aleister Black vs. Hideo Itami , Bobby Roode (c) vs. Drew McIntyre where excellent as was my top match Asuka (c) vs. Ember Moon ."

[8.0] "Another in the now longstanding tradition of excellent TakeOver events, Brooklyn III was a very good card top-to-bottom. The Asuka-Moon Women's Title match was the best of the night (my only nitpick being that I'd have liked to have seen Moon's Eclipse finisher remain protected), but there was also a good big-match main event between Roode and McIntyre, a wild brawl of a Tag Title match between SAnitY and AoP, an intriguing striker-vs. -striker match between Black and Itami, and a fun opener between Almas and Gargano (which did run perhaps just a little too long). While perhaps not the instant classic of, say, the original TakeOver Brooklyn, this was still a great show and worth the watch."

Sanity is good in ring, even though i don't care for the gimmick at all. EY had to work like 2007 Showtime TNA Eric Young to make this work though. Postmatch was great. Itami/Black: ***1/2. Good match. JR wasn;t bad on commentary. Maybe the best role for him now is a Color man. Ember/Asuka: ****. Great, but still missing something. Right call here again. Main Event: ***3/4. Match was very good, but like all Roode matches it was too slow to get there. For the style of today I believe Roode is too slow. Post match was very good. Absolutely great show where there was no baggage and everything was very good or great."

Andrade Almas vs Johnny Gargano and Asuka vs Ember Moon are both amazing, Roode vs McIntyre is an enjoyable main event, the tag team match is almost a must watch. Black vs Itami is the match I liked the less but it's okay. The new debuts are perfect, and I believe Adam Cole is going to be a huge star of the roster."

Every match was from very good to classic - that started with Almas vs. Gargano, which was very good - high energy action from start to finish (***1/2), AOP/SAnitY was really awesome - loved the babyface performances of Alexander Wolfe & Eric Young (***3/4), Aleister/Hideo was my kind of a match - violent w/ both guys, especially Hideo, putting on excellent performances (****1/2), Asuka/Ember was an absolute classic - I haven't re-watched the Sasha/Becky + Sasha/Bayley matches in a while, but as of now that I am writing this, I'd say it's the best women's match in the history of WWE (****3/4), Roode/McIntyre was also excellent - I am liking Roode more & more w/ each passing big match from him - great story of Roode's in ring smarts going against McIntyre's pure power (****). The post match angle was quite something too, to say the least."

SAnitY vs. The Authors of Pain was a great tag team championship match with some sweet tag team spots and moments; the events after the match are quite interesting. Black vs. Itami was everything people expected it to be and that is a hard-hitting contest. Kudos for Code Orange for performing PPV theme and Aleister's theme live, they are awesome and it was very cool. Asuka vs. Moon was a great women's championship match and is one of the best women's matches in NXT. McIntyre vs. Roode was a very good main event and a nice closure to a very consistent in a quality show. The closing events set up another journey to another Takeover, we will see where it will go from here."

Adam Cole and reDragon debuting as a team made the show even better. One of the most consistent Takeover events from top to bottom, only thing missing was a true MOTYC."

[7.0] "A real good NXT show in front of a hot crowd. And they gave them something to get hot for! Andrade Almas -vs- Johnny Gargano [** 3/4] Cool to see La Sombra working in NXT, but I was equally impressed by Gargano. The ending was a little cheap, but otherwise a fine showcase. Akam & Rezar -vs- Eric Young & Alexander Wolfe – (NXT Tag Title) [*** 1/4] Mayhem! Wonderful mayhem! Young really feels at home in NXT. He was one of the few bright things during the dark period of TNA, so I’m happy he’s getting to be a maniac on a WWE brand! Aleister Black -vs- Hideo Itami [***] Intense fight. Itami boodying Aleister’s nose and stiffing him up. Black however can take it, and was even better at giving, which created that rush. Wish they’d kept it going a while longer because it had just gotten really good when Itami got fired-up with the crowd. Asuka -vs- Ember Moon – (NXT Women’s Title) [*** 3/4] Exciting and passionate fighting with the champ being the boss and Ember clawing her way into the game. Impressive display! Bobby Roode -vs- Drew McIntyre – (NXT Title) [** 1/2] The match reminds of Roode’s TNA matches when he was the top guy in the promotion. Very solid wrestling, but not glorious (sorry for the pun). What’s that gimmick, anyway? Hope it’s ironic, because nothing about Roode’s personality screams Glorious! Drew looked alright, so did Roode, but the explosions was left out of their wrestling, even if it was in no way bad."

[5.0] "Very mixed bag. I can see lots of people liked Gargano/Almas but to me it was just ok. Very athletic, but the story seemed to be Almas was supposed to have a new edge but I didn't really see any difference, and a lot of the moves were very cutesy, like Almas flipping out of a sunset bomb attempt because Gargano wasn't even touching him... ? In the end, Gargano lost to a shirt, which I thought was pretty silly even if it was meant to be a reference to Ciampa. The tag title match picked it up for me and was actually my MOTN. EY had some fantastic bumping and fun moments, like popping up over the guard rail and dragging his opponent into the crowd, and Wolfe finally showed me his ability. Stuff like Nikki Cross blocking the tower of doom and Dain smashing through both Cross and AoP to take a bunch of people out was absolutely perfect. Black/Itami was a lot of cutesy kicking spots, ok if you like that sort of thing but not really for me. I just don't buy Black, his attempts to be intimidating fall very flat for me. The women's title match was back in a good direction, a fantastic bout with an edge of your seat finishing stretch, great stuff. Roode/McIntyre was solid until the end, as Roode suddenly loses to Drew's flubbed finisher to no pop whatsoever. McIntyre is a pretty bad choice for NXT champ, but not as bad as his new challenger Adam Cole, who I really just find insufferable. I recommend the tag and women's match, but for me the rest I would have rather skipped."

[10.0] "Great NXT show. Gargano and Almas went so hard to the point that I didn't even mind Gargano losing. SAnitY's messy upset of Authors of Pain was greatly enjoyable, tremendous affection and respect for Eric Young's great career, I hope this turns out to be a Freebird reign with Dain. Black and Itami had the exact match I thought they would and I loved it. Asuka and Moon arguably had match of the night, loved Moon but still felt good to see Asuka reign on. I thought McIntyre vs Roode was excellent, the crowd was a little dead for it and I attribute some of this to poor handling of McIntyre's push by WWE but I loved the match and I think Drew is an excellent champion for any company or brand (as evidenced in ICW, EVOLVE, WCPW and IMPACT), this is just another notch in a great young career. Adam Cole, Fish and O'Reilly of course are what sent people home talking."

[8.0] "Yet another strong in-ring Takeover show. Gargano vs Almas was a very good opener, but the crowd's investment in Johnny really elevated above what it was and made the finishing stretch land really hard; distracting Johnny with a DIY shirt is wonderful storytelling (****). Sanity vs AoP was a fine tag match, although EY being in over Dain was a tad disappointing; AoP did a good job playing heel against other heels, and everybody not in the match (Dain/Cross/Ellering) played their parts well, but I think Wolfe showed a lot of what he can do and was the biggest star in the match; wild spot to lead into the finish and the title change (***1/2). O'Reilly & Fish laying everybody out was cool. Hideo vs Black had a ton of awesome action and strikes and was elevated by Black bleeding, but the pacing was very off; this could've been better if it were some minutes shorter, but as it stands both guys put in awesome performances (****). Asuka vs Ember II started out just as good as their first, with Asuka dominating and Ember doing her best to prove herself, but once the nearfalls started getting going, WOW this became something special; the drama of Asuka's streak actually being jeopardy set in for the first time, and it made every big move feel BIG and in the end made Ember look amazing even in defeat; the best match of Asuka's NXT run, and perhaps her career (****1/4 to ****1/2). Drew vs Roode had some really good, physical sequences where Drew put himself on the line, and I think Roode's main event style has at this point has had more successes than fails; while the match was a bit flat, they put in a lot of work and got the crowd slowly into the match, with a finish that made Drew look strong but essentially made Roode's hubris his downfall; I thought it was very good (***3/4). I'd be ready to give this show a 9 for having only very good-to-fantastic matches, but I'm docking points for Adam Cole being given such a big debut/push; Adam Cole is terrible."
