[8.0] "This is the most interesting Nitro that has been put on in awhile. They announce 3 teams for War Games and their captains. Raven has a confrontation with Horace which leads to a tag match. Raven decides Kanyon will be with Horace and Saturn. It really shows how good Raven is at manipulating people because his worst enemies just agreed to do what he says. Eddie Guerrero has his shoot promo. The Ultimate Warrior is here. 3 title matches that were pretty fun. Yeah it wasn't perfect tonight but it was entertaining."

[6.0] "Positives: Raven/Saturn vs. Kanyon/Horris tag match; DDP and Bret Hart put on a decent USHW title match, and the first 3-4 minutes of the Warrior segment were good. Eddie's pipe bomb (or was it? ) There were still plenty of negatives, too many to list really, but it's the best Nitro in a while and having it in Vince's backyard, I'd hope Bischoff could book a halfway decent show. Still, could've and should've been much better."

[5.0] "Couple things worth watching here. The tag team match with Raven/Saturn v Kanyon/Horace was pretty damn good, well-paced, though I would've liked to seen more of the dynamic between Saturn and Raven throughoutt he match even with the special stipulation put on them. Bret Hart and DDP put on a surprisingly decent match, even if DDP spends most of it getting beat around the ring. Bret looks better than he usually does, but the match is really ruined for me with the stupid ending where a ref DQs someone for seeing them with an illegal object but never seeing them use it. The Warrior segment is WAAAY too long. I'll admit to being hyped about it for about three minutes, but then it just dragged on. Warrior's no great orator, and it shows as this goes on. Too bad WCW is ALL ABOUT long monologues. The segment with Scott Steiner and Buff Bagwell was pretty funny though, until Rick Steiner came in."

[7.0] "I must admit I expected to hate the Warrior segment but it was actually not bad, obviously it would sour badly in the near future but the initial appearance proved to be a lengthy but actually interesting segment which the crowd was clearly into. Some good matches as well, I particularly enjoyed the Raven tag. A lot of really stupid attempts to crap on WWF from Tony Schiavone though, a sign of desperation for sure which would soon backfire badly."
