Nice few bouts to start the show, as Perry got out of Raven one of his better WCW matches, Juventud and Kidman had a fun, high-flying action and Chavo vs Eddie was an improvement from their last meeting. But after that the show lost a steam. The biggest stars in Konnan vs Disco were Nash and Luger outside of the ring, meanwhile Greene has already overstayed his welcome against The Giant. It was nice to see Rey back, but he clearly didn't seem to be 100% ready after his injury, Booker vs Bret was a little underwhelming and Goldberg did his usual stuff, which was still the most over thing on the show. And then the main event just sucked and they did the opposite of everything done right in Rodman's last year's Bash at the Beach match. Slow, sloppy and absolutely no energy with even DDP looking out of it. An awful way to end show, especially after a promising start. |

The Flock isn't done as Juventud takes on Billy Kidman. I thought Kidman was injured because it looked liked Juventud's knees landed on Kidman's ribs. Chavo outsmarts Eddie by throwing his first match so he can be fresh for Eddie. There's a lot of time wasting but the action is good when it happens. Rey Mysterio Jr. returns and has a banger with Jericho fighting on the entrance set. Booker T wasn't winning clean over Bret Hart but honestly not the worst ending possible. Now the bad. Disco has had a streak of good matches lately so we got a return to norm with a stinker with Konnan. Kevin Greene is green yeah the pun sucks. Curt Henning dosent deserve to be jobbed like that. The main event was one of the worst Wrestling matches I have ever seen. |

Poor Disco and Wright get embarrassed by Kevin Nash and Lex Luger and Konnan needing these two guys at ringside who aren't even wrestling tonight to help him against Disco Inferno sure didn't do his image any favors. The baby face thugs beat up the supposed heels all match. Hennig getting squashed by Goldberg was just sad. Hennig could have carried him to something decent but Hennig was busted up too badly at this point in his career with a knee injury. Opener sucked, Greene/Giant was trash and the main event was about as much fun as sun burn peeling! Nothing worth rewatching here. On the plus side, this show feels like a 5/10 stars IF you compare it to Bash At The Beach 99! |

Too much all going on here. **1/2 [2nd match] Totally thought Vampiro was coming out at first lol, didn't know Kidman also used this theme. Fun fast-paced match with cool spots, that Spinebuster-bomb & Saito Suplex looked pretty nasty though. ***3/4 [3rd match] I... don't even know? DUD [4th match] Lots of comedy & stalling. Chavo channelling Roddy Piper with that ass bite. *** [5th match] Very short match, Konnan got extra help that he really didn't need. DUD [6th match] Pretty bad; Greene did all his usual stuff, and got treated to a Chokeslam. * [7th match] Sloppy at times; other than the cool spot off the lifeguard tower this was nothing special. Finish unconvincing for a fluke roll-up. ***1/4 [8th match] Solid match, probably helped Booker more than it helped Bret. Saw the finish coming from a mile off. Really thought Stevie was gonna turn after the finish though. *** [9th match] Great work & selling by Hennig, usual stuff by Goldberg. *1/2 [Main] Can't say much more than what I said in the matchguide. Both NBA guys did adequately though I suppose? and maybe this was an okay match at the time, me not being familiar with NBA players & rivalries probably doesn't help it though. *3/4 Can't say I recommend, unless you particularly want to see a non-wrestler heavy PPV. |
| 19 | 24.05.2021 | AnB | 6.0 | Well. How much should the trash drag this score down? It's not what you'd want from a PPV event either way, but the first half of the show contains some solid bouts. Raven and Saturn was fun, though the Kanyon interference was a bit frustrating. Juvie and Kidman looked great, and there's still a lot of decent matches to come from them. High energy and high flying, just like you'd expect. Eddie and Chavo is more about storytelling than anything else, but it's still a good match with Eddie venting his frustration in the ring. Chavo being wacco post-match and starting to shave his own head was brilliant. Eddie seems legitimately scared of his nephew. Then there's a meh tag team bout and an absolutely trash tier match with Greene and The Giant, before we get another highlight in Booker T v Bret Hart that just makes me WISH the two could've met while Hart was still on top. And then Goldberg crushes Hennig (surprise surprise), and we get this travesty of a main event. Rodman and Malone aren't all that bad, but this is the slowest thing I've seen in a while, and I've been watching late 90s WCW for the last couple of months so that says something. And then the Disciple gets the finisher? Just, why? |

Gleich zu Beginn gibt es ein knapp akzeptables Raven's Rules Match, wobei auch hier wieder Perry Saturn den Kürzeren zieht, so dass man wirklich nicht von einer ausgeglichenen Langzeitfehde reden kann. Juvi und Kidman liefern solide CW-Action, bevor mit Chavo eine schon irgendwie grotesk unterhaltsame Storyline einen immerhin passabel dargebotenen Zwischenklimax erfährt. Dann wird es erstmal übel - Konnan mit einer Lachnummer von Match, Greene lässt sich durch die Gegend schubsen, der Hitman verzichtet durch eine unkontrollierte DQ auf einen Gürtel, während Goldberg einen wirklich guten Worker zerstört, was im Umkehrschluss bedeutet, dass nicht einmal Mr. Perfect ein anständiges Match aus Wild Bill rausholen kann. Das sagt eine Menge aus. Unterbrochen wird der Kram immerhin von einem Titelwechsel im Cruiserweight Bereich, wobei Jerichos Overness erneut deutlich sichtbar wird. Tja, und dann gibt es am Ende diese unglaublich langatmige Schnarchparade mit den Basketballern. Klar, Rodman und Malone ziehen ordentlich mediales Interesse, aber als eigentliches Match ist das nur ein durch schlechte Haltegriffe und übermässig albernen Taunts unterbrochenes Gähnfest. Zünglein an der Waage - Ed Leslie. Was soll man noch dazu sagen? Dank der Guerreros und der Cruiserweights winke ich die Show als ausreichend durch, vom Hocker gehauen hat mich hier aber mal so gar nichts, während der langatmige Mainer eher als 'Bullshit at the Beach' zu kategorisieren ist. |

Raven/Saturn is a good opener and a strong ongoing story, and Kidman/Juventud raises the bar with a pretty great cruiserweight style match. Chavo/Stevie is just a set up for Chavo/Eddie, which was pretty excellent, funny at times and showcasing good action at others. Chavo crazily shaving his own head and freaking Eddie out was a fun moment as well. Konnan/Inferno is just an excuse for Wolfpac to beats up some guys, which seems a bit pointless but at least it's very short. Greene/Giant is surprisingly good, Greene is one of the most enthusiastic celebrity wrestlers of all time and it pays off. Mysterio/Jericho has a great set up, it's a bit short and sloppy to be a truly great match but there are some excellent moments. Booker/Bret was actually my MOTN, fresh opponents motivated to put on some good action with kind of a crazy finish. Hennig/Goldberg was good for a short match, Curt bumped like a maniac and Goldberg looked dominant. The main event was not horrible but not too good either, definitely too long and the fact that the freakin' Disciple got the deciding move was a major bummer, but otherwise this was mostly a good show. |

Konnan gegen Disco war wieder nichts. Für was setzt man sowas auf die Card. Hätte auch bei Nitro gereicht. Ach ja. Man will die "coolen" Konnan, Luger und Nash zeigen. (o. W. ) 6. Greene gegen Giant war das beste Non-Wrestler Match an diesen Abend. Hier hätte ich mir aber einen Squash gewünscht. Wäre mehr Impact gewesen. (1*) 7. Rey gegen Jericho war leider zu kurz. Hier wäre mehr drin gewesen. Das Match war später sicher das Vorbild für das Match Jericho/Kofi von NoC2008. Gab es doch einige Parallelen. (2 1/2*) 8. Booker gegen Hart hatte Potential, doch auch hier geizte man mit der Zeit. War sicher mehr drin, vor allem da Booker gerade Momentum aufnahm und Hart ein Gegner ist mit dem Booker wirklich glänzen hätte können. Das Aftermath war interessant. (2 3/4*) 9. Goldberg gegen Hennig o. W.. 10. ME war Mist. Man versuchte WWE zu kopieren. Nur hätte man die Promis nicht in den Ring lassen sollen. Zudem erhält dieser Krampf noch unglaublich viel Zeit. Wenn man hört das Hogan satte 45 Minuten + wollte kommt mir schon das Grauen. DDP erfährt erneut einen Rückschlag. (-****1/2) Der PPV hätte besser werden können. Matches wie Hart/Booker, Jericho/Mysterio & einige anderen versprechen. Leider konnte sie das nicht halten. Lag woll auch daran das kein Match die dafür benötigte Zeit erhielt. Zudem ein ME des Grauens und zuviele Squash Matches. |

Wie immer kann der Beginn der Show noch halbwegs überzeugen, auch wenn das ein oder andere Finish nicht das Gelbe vom Ei ist. Auch Chavo vs Eddie hat mich eher enttäuscht, aber wirklich schlecht war das halt nicht. Das erste richtig schlechte Match war der Disco Inferno vs Konnan gefolgt von dem Giant vs Kevin Greene. Warum zur Hölle gab es eigentlich soviele Non-Wrestler bei der WCW, die dann auch noch lange Matches bekommen. Furchtbar! Jericho vs Rey war für die Kürze der Zeit ordentlich. Booker T vs den Hitman war Verschwendung von Talent. Und Goldberg war halt Goldberg. Wirklich, wirklich schlimm war aber der Main Event. Da bekommen beim Event zuvor Sting und er Giant 6 Minuten Zeit im Main Event. Und hier Rodman und Malone als komplette Non-Wrestler unendlich lange und unfassbar langweilige 25 Minuten. Der Main Event würde irgendwas zwischen 1-2 Punkte bei mir bekommen. Fast schon körperliche Folter sich das rumgeschupse 25 Minuten lang anzuschauen. Mit viel gutem Willen gebe ich dem Event noch 5 Punkte, aber mit klarer Tendenz zu 4 Punkten, aufgrund der überwiegend schlechten Main Matches. |

Hier hätte man, insbesondere bei der Konfrontation von Malone und Rodman, deutlich mehr herausholen können und hier hat man kaum etwas aus den wenigen Möglichkeiten gemacht. |
| 38 | 05.11.2013 | cradlerocker | 6.0 | Irgendwie fangen die Probleme bei diesem Event schon damit an, dass die Hälfte der Card gefühlt erst zwei Tage vor dem Event angekündigt wurde. Wahrscheinlich hat man gehofft, dass Rodman und Malone, die ihre Sache eigentlich ganz gut machen, alleine ausreichen würden, um den PPV zu verkaufen und Ratings zu steigern. Das klappte nur bedingt und dann folten Panikaktionen und Kurzschlussbooking, s. h. z. B. World-Title Match, das 6 Tage vorher noch ein Tag Team Kampf werden sollte. Ansonsten ist die Undercard wirklich stark und spaßig, aber ab dem Konnan-Match wirds dann stetig uninteressanter. Letztgenannter Kampf war wahrscheinlich eh nur auf der Card, weil man 5 Minuten vor Eventbeginn gemerkt hat, dass man das Wolfpac bisher noch nicht in der Show hat... Der Main Event ist im Gegensatz zu anderen Matches, die durchaus Potential gehabt hätten, zu lang und hat mich eher weniger interessiert. Alles zusammen macht das aber aufgrund der starken Undercard dennoch 6 Punkte für mich. |

Erst die letzten zwei Match sorgten dann schließlich für die erschreckende Ernüchterung: Während der WH-Titel-Squash innerhalb des Goldberg-Mega-Pushes wenigstens noch Sinn machte, waren über 20 Minuten für einen grausamen Main Event mit zwei... nein sogar drei, Non-Wrestlern einfach zuviel. Hätte es diesen so nicht gegeben wär vielleicht sogar die Höchstwertung dringewesen, so gibt es nur mit viel Wohlwollen noch eine knappe Zwei. |
