[8.0] "This was an excellent pay-per-view with not a single bad match. Even the Konnan vs Morrus match is way better then the average ratings here. Opens up in usual fashion with a top notch match from Ultimo Dragon and Psycosis gives us some nice meaty matches throughout with an excellent main event."

[6.0] "Wild range of quality in this one, from pretty great (Ultimo Dragon and Psychosis, Savage and DDP) to pretty shit (Konnan and Morrus, Glacier and Wrath), but I think it evens out to be slightly above average."

[8.0] "Two excellent matches bookending this PPV actually makes me come away from it with a positive review of it. Flair/Piper Vs. Outsiders was fun for what it was as well. Hokuto. Madusa was fine, yet disappointing to see such a whimper end to Madusa's career (for a while). Everything else was crap, but the good far outweighed the bad."

[6.0] "I actually really liked this American Bash. Yeah, there were some matches that belonged on Nitro, like Konnan vs Morrus or Glacier vs Wrath, but at least they weren't horrible and didn't last long. There was also Mongo vs Greene, which at least they kept simple and it wasn't offensive, plus Flair & Piper vs Hall & Nash had a disappointing finish, but up to that point all four guys were doing a fantastic job. And the rest was just simply pretty good. The opener finally had Dragon as a babyface and it was fresh to see him actually trying to work the story with Onoo, plus Psychosis did a nice job as a heel. Harlem Heat finally had a team to work with and The Steiners brought so much energy into this that the crowd was on the edges of their seats, Hakuto vs Madusa was the best WCW match between both workers, meanwhile Benoit vs Meng wasn't as good as their Slamboree bout, but they still showed a lot of chemistry with each other. And then the main event showed once again how over DDP was at the time and Macho Man did a fantastic job of putting him over, even if he eventually won the match. A lot of drama, referees up and down and a loud crowd to end another solid and fun PPV from WCW."

[7.0] "Good show. The opener set the tone right although a few of them seemed more like they belonged on Nitro than on the show. Public Enemy segment was fine and the only major non-wrestling segment. MOTN for me would probably be the opener with the main event and Madusa vs Hokuto being contenders as well. Only 1 really bad match which was Morris vs Konnan"

[7.0] "A really good main event and an undercard that only had two bad matches. It helped that the show had energy throughout and the crowd were mostly very loud and only died when the talentless mid carders were going at it."

[6.0] "Two solid matches back to back with the cruiserweights and Harlrm Heat vs The Steiners starting off strong. Konnan vs Hugh Morris gets too much hate, it's not the worst match ever but ot could have been on Nitro instead. Where was Ernest Miller to help Glacier? The last time we'll see that women's belt is in a strong style Joshi match. Chris Benoit and Meng have a banger as we slowly approach the end of the Dungeon of Doom.skip the football match. Outsiders vs Piper and Flair was also pretty bad, I don't think they mesh well but I'm hyped for more Flair vs Syxx. Randy Savage and DDP have a brutal brawl to end the show with nWo looking strong."

[5.0] "Some awful stuff and some good, although nothing quite reached greatness, it was a standard NWO-era show. Far too much of it was just setting up future storylines rather than settling current feuds."

[7.0] "Maybe a few too many return matches and screwy finishes, but not a bad PPV. [1st match] Great opener, awesome dives by both guys. Loved Dragon's counter to Psychosis's Moonsault. Sonny got involved a little too much though. ***1/2 [2nd match] Ok but a little heatless and slow to start. Got better until the finish. **1/2 [3rd match] Had some missteps but was fine. ** [4th match] Glacier good, Wrath didn't do a whole lot. Mortis's payoff seemed pointless. Listening to the Commentary team talk about these 3's kayfabe backstories was pretty funny somehow. Finish was a mess and partially missed. **1/4 [5th match] Akira pulled out one or two different moves, but otherwise the match plan was very similar. Madusa was good at selling her knee injury though, and the match got a fair amount of heat and told a good story. Strange direction though because Madusa was plenty over and who else was there other than her to get the title, but...oh well. Mean Gene's immediate post match interview just smacked of sleazy journalism. ***1/4 [6th match] More of a competitive rematch, but maybe could have done with more outside spots & weapons. ***1/4 [7th match] Alright I suppose, but I'm just not all that invested in these NFL matches, and I don't know why WCW still is. Greene is perfectly fine, but it just feels like these two have been feuding forever and I just don't care. ** [8th match] Nice to see a little variety with two high profile single's competitors going after the Tag straps. Enjoyable until the distraction spot. ***1/2 [Main] Started off eerily similar to last month, but got pretty interesting with Randy committing reficide. Really loved them brawling over to the picnic area part of the arena. Finish a little annoying as nWo still don't like the idea of losing anytime soon. **** 4th PPV in a row now that the WCW Heavyweight Title has not been defended, this being WCW's 2nd biggest PPV too! amazing it was hijacked for so long."

"A really forgetable show. Not because of the matches' quality (there were some great bouts like the opener and the two last contents) however this show has so little influence on the storylines, the card is very redundant in comparison with previous Nitros and PPVs. Overall a show with little interest that could had been easily replaced by a weekly special. 4/10"

[9.0] "Another great and highly underrated WCW show from this era. Psychosis/Dragon is a good opener, brought down slightly by a very awkward finish but the action is top notch. Harlem Heat and the Steiners have a pretty great tag match, full of good stuff and crazy throws and heated stuff from Booker T. Could have done without Virgil, but still. The one true black mark on the PPV is a terribly boring Hugh Morrus/Konnan match, so skip that one. Wrath/Glacier is not too good but not awful, and then the women's match is really incredible, Madusa sells a knee incredibly well and both women really go nuts on each other. You'd never know the women's division didn't develop based on this match alone, great work from both. Benoit/Meng is a fantastic and brutal war, still can hardly believe the finish. Outsiders/Flair & Piper perhaps works better as a story than for the action, but it's passable in that field as well. Savage/DDP II is an incredibly intense brawl with some awesome story telling worked in, including multiple referees and a Scott Hall run in. Just a great show overall, not perfect but too much great stuff to ignore."

[8.0] "Really solid event, in a positive way. Ultimo Dragon and Psychosis offered well-build showdown, full of smooth, but really impressive high-flying moves. ****. Steiners vs. Harlem Heat was a classic heel team vs. face team clash, and these two teams knew how to work it perfectly. ***. Then it was time for boring filler, aka Konnan vs. Hugh Morrus. Crowd was really dead during the match, and nothing significant happened for 10 minutes. *. More filler coming, as Wrath vs. Glacier took place. Kinda bland match, but i'll give it *1/2 just because of nice spot during the match. Akira Hokuto vs. Madusa was a really positive surprise from this show, as i've never been a huge fan of women's wrestling, but that match, it really entertained me. Also this match had a background which really carried in this match, but Madusa's selling of her injured leg was kinda weak. ***. Chris Benoit vs. Meng was really stiff, but really rough face-off, but even though the match was sanctioned as Death Match, it wasn't that Death Match which is known in indies, but still, there was really nice moves like Meng's splash from top-rope and Benoit's german-suplexes. ***1/2. Mongo vs. Greene was.. well something you would expect from those two.. atleast it was kinda humoristic match. *. Outsiders vs. Flair and Piper was surprising, but not as good as their match in Slamboree, even though this match had titles at the stake and Kevin Greene was left out. **1/2. Then it was time for MOTN. Randy Savage vs. DDP. They had a classic match in Spring Stampede, but this was nothing less, even better! Really hardcore match, with great brawling, weapons shots, and spot where Savage put DDP through the table. One of the greatest Savage's matches. ****1/2."
