Overall WWE Fastlane (2017) is a really horrible show with a lot of nothing matches and a very sour ending."

While this show wasn't outstanding, it's just average with matches that aren't that good or that bad besides the main event. The highlights being Joe/Zayn, Neville/Gallagher, Reigns/Strowman, which aren't even incredible matches. While I absolutely hate the main event and how they did Kevin Owens dirty, I can't say that it ruined this show for me. Honestly, I tend to forget this show existed until I check my profile on here, tells you how amazing this show is LOL!"

[1.0] "I wanna give it a zero so badly, but I just can't. Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman was a great match. Neville vs. Jack Gallagher was a great match. You can skip the entire rest of the show, it's average at best and a total waste of your limited time on Earth at worst. The main event was inexcusable booking. Yes, Goldberg should devour Kevin Owens in this match, but why did Goldberg need the Universal title to begin with? Brock vs. Goldberg still would've been a draw for WrestleMania regardless, and Owens vs. Jericho would've been a great feud over the Universal Title. Everybody could've won, instead you made Jericho and Owens lose, and Brock vs. Goldberg came out about where it would've been anyway. MVP of the show goes to Roman Reigns for putting in a great performance and guiding a still very green Braun Strowman to a fantastic match."

Nia Jax in 2025 is not the Nia Jax on this show, holy hell. congrats to her on all the improvements she's made Also, the tag title match was bad. most of the matches were absurdly uneventful."

[3.0] "It's hard to look past the main event when considering the rating this show deserves- the main advertised attraction for the show, reaching a paltry 22 seconds would be bad enough, but in doing do, WWE relegated the brilliant Kevin Owens/Chris Jericho feud to undercard status going into that year's WrestleMania (and at the same time, cast Goldberg into one of the prime positions at the same event). The rest of the show was on the whole, mediocre, and on the whole either featured matches that were better than expected (though with a very low ceiling- Reigns/Strowman), largely inconsequential (Neville vs. Jack Gallagher) disappointing (Bayley vs. Charlotte Flair) or some combination of the above. Only the opener delivered as expected but by the end of the show that felt a very long time ago. Not all bad by any means, but relentlessly inconsistent and finished off with a non-match- this is very far from a classic."

The Main event was ridiculous but I guess it was all a storyline of a build up to Jericho and Owens match not being for the title and Goldberg being able to put away someone in seconds"

Jericho and Owens didn't need to feud over the title and as much as I love Owens I do think his reign had run it's course, and with Wyatt and Orton not neccesarily being a big match for the title, I understand putting two big stars like Goldberg and Lesnar in the title match. The Brock one after was not the best but anyway...the show! The thing it missed was 1 really good match, it was solid matches all round but only Reigns and Strowman found another level."

Goldberg was on a Mega Push he just Destroyed Brock Lesnar Cleanly in 1 minute you can't have Owens putting up a much better fight then Brock. Goldberg was always gunna win & Win well to keep his Momentum rolling. Owens handled it the best way he could to not lose his Aura. Him playing with the Psyche of Goldberg by trying to Kill his Adrenaline by not hopping in the Ring was Smart & at least he has the Excuse of Jericho ruining his Gameplan."

I would consider this as average an event as physically possible, with two outliers in the Cruiserweight Championship match, which was good, and the main event which was embarrassing in 23 different ways. I still can't believe they did KO like that, just to give some 50 year old has been another title run. What a joke."

Underwhelming first half with Zayn/Joe not being anywhere near as good as it could've been and the Cesaro/Show and Rusev/Jinder matches added less than nothing but then you get two really good matches back-to-back - Neville/Gallagher was probably the best Cruiserweight match on the main roster at that point and Strowman/Reigns was really good though not as good as their second match together and a Strowman loss didn't strike as the right decision. Bayley/Charlotte was an alright match with hurtful booking. Main event was what it was, I don't disagree with the decision to take the title off Owens, but if they'd tried to work a short but actual match that could've been interesting, but oh well. I don't hate this event so going below 5 seems extreme."

[5.0] "Eh, this wasn't all that bad, a totally missable one but there's good stuff in there. Joe/Zayn was a bit of a letdown but still good. Club v Enzo & Cass was fine. Banks & Jax again fine though they'd had better matches. The stretch with Cesaro/Big Show/Rusev/Jinder was really needless, but relatively short at least. They should have just given that time to Neville & Gallagher, I'd love to have seen them go all out as this match was awesome. Reigns/Braun was really good too, though it nearly hurt Braun to have him lose at this stage - a poor decision. Bayley/Charlotte was good, I don't put much weight in that "PPV streak" thing they had going with Charlotte as it was quite flimsy and forced but they could have definitely saved that moment for Mania. Goldberg/Owens, eh, I think putting the title on to Goldberg and therefore Brock to legitimize the new title everyone mocked on its debut was something they had to do as Owens, as great as he is, wasn't doing that in this run. His run was all about being mates with Jericho and sometimes Triple H, which was more US title material. This "match" was silly and the result of booking yourself into a corner but probably the right thing to do and presented well enough I guess. I understand people's complaints in regards to it though, personally I'd have liked to have seen what Owens and Goldberg could conjure up in a proper match. Overall, a mediocre PPV but with some definite high points and nothing abysmal other than the baffling and lazy decision to put two totally meaningless matches that wouldn't even be Raw quality out there on PPV. It has its downsides but I don't see quite the need for all the red numbers."

Reigns/strowman was solid way better than expected, but strowman lost clean despite being booked as a monster for months ? Bayley couldn't defend the title without her buddy sasha ? And fucking Goldberg squashed KO for universal title. Just awful, awful. Worst show of the year contender with Battleground, bound for glory."

Enzo & Cass are simply dreadful, and proved it once again in their match here (*). I can't rate the next two matches because I was so horrified at their mere concept I couldn't bear to watch them. Cruiserweight match woke me and the crowd up, and I was very happy to see Gallagher prove he's more than just a comedy guy (***1/2). Reigns is good, Strowman is bad but improving. Put them together and you get a surprisingly decent match (***). Women's match was underwhelming and ended abruptly (**). I don't know how you can rate the main event, I don't even consider it a match."

Samoa Joe VS Sami Zayn and Neville VS Jack Gallagher gave us entertaining matches that were both a delight to watch. Everything else was either a let down or a travesty. Early matches were not up to par considering the wresters performing in them, and the two matches that were booked on the spot felt like filler meant for RAW, not for people to pay for. The biggest fault lies in the fact that most of the matches ended with the wrong wrestler winning, leaving sour tastes for the fans."

[3.0] "Fastlane was a very disappointing event. The wrestling itself wasn't too bad, the cruiserweight title match was the MOTN and very enjoyable. And Roman and Strowman put on a surprisingly good match. Joe VS Zayn was good but not very competitive, but it's ok if they want to build Joe to be very strong. The rest of the matches were rather poor. If I ranked only the wrestlling, the show might deserve an 5. But what made this PPV really bad was the booking. Goldberg winning the title was to be expected, but I'm not a fan of giving the biggest belt for a part-timer. But what was even worse, was making Strowman undefeated streak end in a small ppv just befoe Mania, same with Charlotte's PPV streak and Nya Jax's clean defeat. The booking in WWE, and especially Raw has been really questionable. Especially when I've heard that the outcomes of the matches were changed last minute, the original plans to make 'Taker interfere with Roman Vs Braun and Banks with Bailey Vs Charlotte (making Bailey to lose the title) would have made so much more sense. The rumour has it that the women's title match was changed 40 minutes after the PPV had already started. Unbelievable. Also Sahsa botched the finish and was supposed to grab the robes when pinning Nya. There's so much talent in Raw right now, but they're all suffering from terrible booking."

As soon as the run time of the show went under 5 minutes to go i knew Goldberg would win. Why do WWE persist with giving these part-timers a big push? Whats the point! No long term booking plans and a host of wrestlers with their push hitting a creative wall. WWE need to sort out their booking, think about the long term, have a set idea for want you want to do for at least six months to a year. it seems like the bookers are changing their minds on a regular/daily basis."

[4.0] "The grievous errors WWE committed on this show were due to short-term thinking as to make the match-ups at Wrestlemania more attractive. Although roided monsters like Brawn are not my cup of tea, his whole gimmick was that he's unstoppable. Despite dominating the contest w/ Reigns, at the end of the day, all it took was a couple of medicore Roman spears to put the monster down. Will it hurt his upward trajectory in the same way Punk defeating Ryback did at HITC? I don't think so b/c Brawn will most likely win the annual 'Andre the Giant' battle royal, thus giving him new momentum Ryback never afterwards had, and as he had a good performance on this night, I bet he will get his win back from 'the Empire' sometime in '17. However, the decision to end Charlotte's streak on this below-average show was the product of little minds. Sure, keep the title on Bailey after 'her bff's' interference, but make sure Charlotte escaped Milwaukee with a victory. Nia is not a consistent enough performer to arouse much out-of-me, so although I would have put her over to maintain a monster's facade, I didn't care one-way-or-the-other. I can't recall a single Joe/Zayn match-up I liked, and as Joe is the new character and getting the push, he should go over strong. In fact, I am rather bored by Zayn's earnestness, so Joe going over even stronger and destroying Zayn post-match would have elicited more heat from me. Jinder Mahal on a PPV? ! ? Neville/Gallagher stole the show and kudos to Jack for mad-bumping, and giving it his all. Since Brawn/B Show impressed the audience, and obviously Vince, I understand, but did not like, Show toying w/ Rusev. Finally, there's the relic from the late 90s. Via a torn rotator cuff, I believe it was, Goldberg showed that his 50 yr old body cannot hold up. Thus, to preserve the Main Event of WMania, Goldberg took nothing... but for a paying audience, and the idea this is a PPV, it's pathetic. 3. 75"

As far as the wrestling goes this saved the PPV, since there wasn't really a bad match on the card and actually had a few great ones. Like Roman v Braun, Joe v Sami and Neville v Gallagher."

[5.0] "This PPV wasn't that bad, I even think that as a whole the booking was good and made sense. People are mad because Goldberg won... Well, the opener was good, it established Joe as a serious fighter. The match for the tag titles was nothing special, I'm glad the Club retained though. Sasha vs Nia is a forgettable match, nice to see Sasha winning it. Then, we got 2 useless matches, that should have happened on RAW, worst part of the show for me was these 2 matches, Cesaro-Mahal & Rusev-Big Show. The cruiserweight match was very good, I enjoyed it a lot and Neville is an awesome champ. Reigns - Strowman was good, I know plenty of fans thought that Roman shouldn't have won but it makes sense to let him win given his forthcoming match against Undertaker at Mania. Charlotte-Bayley was good, good to see Bayley retaining the title and Charlotte's streak finally over, however I didn't like the end with Sasha's involvment, Bayley could have won clean IMO. What can I say about the main event ? I don't thing Goldberg is gonna be a good champion but I do understand why WWE gave him the title. I think it is firstly because he's the most over face on RAW, except for Jericho... he's the one getting the cheers and the chants on RAW. And then he's a bigger name than Kevin Owens, therefore he draws more. I mean that guy wouldn't be paid as much if he wasn't able to draw ratings. KO is young & talented, he'll bounce back quickly."

Well, I expected Joe vs. Sami to be longer but they are building Joe as a machine, so that was understandable. But even with short time they showed a good match that surved its purpose. Tag match was standard, which doesn't make it bad. I liked it, maybe they're saving big win for Cass and Enzo for a more appropriate time and stage. Classic David vs. Goliaph in Sasha vs. Nia. Loved it, they remind me of Kim vs. Kong from the golden days of TNA. Hah, Cesaro got to wrestle. The whole thing was fun. Rusev obviously deserves better but I enjoyed this nonetheless. I'm glad to see Show in action, makes new guys looking strong. Cruiserweight Championship Match was great! Neville is truly one of the greatest and Jack looked phenomenal. All monster's matches are pretty typical, that was no exception. It was good, hard-hitting, with great spots and for me that's enough. Before the botch the women's match was great then it was just the vacuum of reaction. Still good though. Enjoyed the show."

However, the Jinder/Rusev stuff was really unneeded. It was a complete waste of time and could have easily been an angle shot on Raw. Cruiserweight match was good (***1/2) and the Roman/Strowman match was a fun spectacle to watch. Bayley/Charlotte was really sloppy and didn't like the finish, but it was what it was. Goldberg/Owens was AWESOME and the perfect way to get Goldberg the title without making anybody look bad. Kevin Owens' title run was a complete joke and the Universal title in general has been disappointing, so putting the belt on Goldberg makes a lot of sense moving toward Lesnar/Goldberg at Mania. Whoever defeats Brock for the title in the future will be given a big boost. Overall, a decent show. The booking obviously was questionable, but who actually takes WWE booking seriously anymore? Honest question."

Between giving Sami and Joe 9 minutes, to breaking 3 undefeated streaks (Nia, Braun, and Charlottes PPV streak) on a throwaway PPV, two throwaway matches that would have sucked on an episode of RAW, to a part timer squashing Kevin Owens in the main event to win RAWs top belt, this PPV was awful. The only saving grace was the Cruiserweight match. This is worst show of the year level stuff."

I can't understand why WWE put 2 random matches (Jinder vs Cesaro, Rusev vs. Show), since they could use that time for the Sami vs. Joe match, which was watchable, but too short. Tag match was bullshit again with the stupid finish. The 2 women's match was disappointing, but finally Charlotte's "streak" is over. Braun vs. Reigns was also watchable, I was satisfied with Braun. And finally the huge main event, Goldberg once again doing a squash, as he can't wrestle more then 3 minutes. He couldn't even deliver the Spear properly... Wasting the talent of KO just doesn't make any sense. 1 of the worst PPV's from a relatively good roster."

[3.0] "Starting with the positives - the Cruiserweight Title match was very good, one of the best in the division since the CWC. Joe vs. Zayn also served its purpose well in making look Joe look like a killer. Roman vs. Strowman was pretty good too, better than expectations in terms of match quality, though I'm not sold on Strowman taking a clean loss as the right move. Otherwise a lot of this was just baffling - while having him lose to a distraction didn't make Owens look too bad in losing, there's really no reason Goldberg vs. Lesnar needs to be for the title, and by having him lose the belt rather than causing him to get DQ'ed, didn't Jericho also screw himself out of a title shot as well as Owens? While I'm glad the Women's Title wasn't hot-potatoed yet again, conversely I don't get ending Charlotte's win streak on a B-level PPV rather than 'Mania, and I really don't get trying to make Bayley of all people into a tweener. And that whole middle part of the show, with the Rusev-Mahal stuff, was pure filler. A handful of positives in an overall poorly-booked show, and not an encouraging sign going into WrestleMania."

Roman Reigns vs Braun Strowman is the longest match, these two are the future of WWE, so it's easy to say they are trying to make them relevant. It's an okay match, nothing more than that. Samoa Joe vs Zayn and Gallagher vs Neville are the best matches of the show, with a disappointing Charlotte vs Bailey and a Nia Jax oriented match with Sasha Banks. I don't understand the point of the Cesaro-Big Show matches, avoidable fillers. The match for the tag team titles is okay. Still I think it's not an acceptable show, it's just that bad because there is a high quality of the roster, but the stories are flat and the best matches do not last 10 minutes. edit: I rewatched some parts, no, it's worse, I'm changing from 4 to 2 points."

The Big Slow defeating Rusev seemed very thrown together, obviously they are trying to make the Slow seem strong for his upcoming match against Shaquille, but I don't think this match accomplished that goal.... The women stole the show, in my opinion. Sasha versus Nia was a very good match, and had that whole "David versus Goliath" feel to it. Bayley versus Charlotte was also a very good match, with both women giving it their all. ... Neville VS Jack Gallagher was entertaining, both men seemed to be having a good night.... Roman VS Braun was a kinda stale match, how many times can we watch Roman do the same 4 moves? And why can't he hit anyone without cocking his arm? Is his arm a shotgun? ... The main event? What is there to say about that? All that build up, just so Goldberg (who was visibly out of breath before the match started) can squash Kevin Owens in under 22 seconds. Why are they insisting on pushing Goldberg, when they obviously don't have faith that he can actually wrestle a match of any length? Fortunately I went to a sports bar and saw the show for free, but if I had paid to see it, I would have asked for my money back."

Bayley vs Charlotte wasn't bad but also wasn't special. Just fine ***. Owens vs Goldberg squash was disappointing as expected DUD. A few good matches but none great or too notable. Even with the good matches this was still overall boring and very dragging"

Joe looked like a monster and was booked properly in his good match with Zayn. Enzo and Cass looked great as the underdogs chasing the Tag team titles. The Cruiserweights put on a decent fight as Neville continues looking strong, and Bayley ending Charlotte's PPV streak was a nice change, although the match itself was nothing memorable. Outside of those matches there were poor booking decisions and/or poor matches. Giving Reigns the win over Strowman is another good example of how knee-deep WWE really is with making Reigns the next face of the company. Strowman needed it more than Reigns in my opinion. Owens losing the belt in 22 seconds is a disgrace and disrespectful. No offense to Goldberg, but he doesn't need a championship. Cesaro and Rusev both had filler matches which were nothing special. This event is also a good example of just how poor RAW's booking is compared to SmackDown Live."

The show started off great until the two filler matches happened. They kind of downed the pace of the show which is sad. Neville Vs Gallagher was awesome and is probably the best cruiserweight match so far. Reigns Vs Strowman was disappointing. Charlotte Vs Bayley sucked and the ending was terrible. Charlotte should have won. Obviously main event was stupid but I have to admit it is good build for Jericho Vs Owens."

Tag Title match was forgettable as I was just bored with it at times. The next 3 matches were absolute trash for me, Neville/Gallagher was MOTN for me and Gallagher was quite impressive and probably the best main roster Cruiserweight match for me as well (***1/2). Reigns/Strowman was alright (**1/2), Bayley/Charlotte was meh (*), and the ending went like one would expect it to so that's that. Overall I was accepting of the entertainment portion but wrestling wise it fell apart after Neville/Gallagher."

[2.0] "This show was, for the most part, absolute garbage. It started off good w/ Joe vs. Zayn, which was a very good match (***1/2), the tag title match was good too, enjoyed it quite a bit (***1/4), Nia/Sasha was disappointing - they just had a much better match at the Rumble pre-show a month ago (**), Cesaro/Mahal + Show/Rusev sadly happened (*), Neville/Gallagher is my pick for MOTN, really good match & a great performance by the Gentleman (***1/2), the next 2 matches in Braun/Reigns + Bayley/Charlotte were both very disappointing - I think Reigns vs. Braun had potential to be really good, but I thought that the match just did not click & went on for too long, simple as that (*), I have enjoyed every match Charlotte & Bayley have had against each other, going back to their Takeover match from 2015, but this one was so dull - never got going (*), and then you got the main event, let's just say it was exactly what I expected it to be (No Rating). 2 really good matches (Joe/Zayn, Neville/Gallagher), 1 good one (Club vs. Enzo & Cass), but the rest I would skip."

[3.0] "Another disappointing and too predictable PPV. Apparently the E loves to piss off most fans and doesn't care if their writers and booking are crap. They know more than enough will continue to watch to keep them in business no matter what. Glad Sasha won, the way it was done didn't make Nia look too weak to rebound from and get back her monster heel status. However, did they really need to practically kill Rusev's career or bring out Jinder Mahal? Should of had Big Show and Mahal stay home and have Rusev vs. Cesaro instead. The Cruiserweight title and Raw Women's title were the only matches really worth watching but they could of had Charlotte win by DQ keeping her PPV streak intact while keeping the belt on Bayley setting up a no DQ match at WrestleMania. Reigns win was too predictable and it being clean hurt Strowman. Goldberg winning was also predictable but an under 30 second squash for the top title robbed fans of a real main event match."
