Insgesamt hat mir der PPV sehr gefallen, 9 Punkte und auch hier Respekt für Leistung der Aktiven so viele Matches an einem Tag bei solch vielen verschiedenen Ligen zu haben. |

| 5 | 10.04.2017 | jboyaquar | 7.0 | I mistakenly took in the RPW show instead of this middle-of-the-pack Evolve offering and ended up missing the best of the three WWN Fern Park (erroneous venue listing, Cagematch) shows. Friends who had attended thought the Dijak/Lee encounter was the best match of the weekend, and after a watch and a weekend w/ surprisingly few very good matches, I can't disagree though I had it at 3 1/2 (like the ten man @ WCon and the SPPT/Callihan-Strickland match from Progress. ) I really enjoyed the Big Guy dynamic, and these guys have ridiculous abilities for their size. The finish was well-conceived as the winner's flip out of the chokeslam was more impressive than the one before, but the match operated at an irregular rate, clunked at a couple of moments and Lee's appropriately cocky yet repeated to tedium, 'Bask in my Glory, ' is Indicative of my current aversion to schticky tweener filled indie land. But again this afternoon's show stood taller than the others, and perhaps that was because of the well-constructed good vs. evil storyline of the hellish heelin' 'All Ego' and the death-defying stunts of upstart D Allin. These two were given the Main Event spot and delivered, perhaps in Darby's case (to continue to make his name) over-delivered, on the stips. After two tombstones and being placed in a Riddle submission, I did not like the idea of F Yehi being able to counter out and have the cognizance & strength to affix his finisher w/out Riddle having the 'health' to counter-out. Yet despite the finish, the match kept my interest which is more than I can say for ACH/Thatcher, a directionless clunker in which Thatcher hoped his facials alone could substitute for an interesting gameplan on keeping the more spry ACH grounded. As 'Glover' pointed out, the six man was too long, probably b/c it was heatless, and hence the dead air. ZSJ/Elgin was a good 3 1/4 opener. | 6 | 08.04.2017 | marexcel | 6.0 | ZSJ phasenweise mit einem Rückfall in schlechte Selling-Zeiten, aber dennoch der erwartet brauchbare Opener. Die Chemie passt gut, wenn auch noch Luft nach oben ist. War für Elgin hoffentlich nur das Auftakt-Wochenende bei EVOLVE. Galloway/Rush haben dann nur die Hälfte der Zeit davon und so wirkt es auch etwas gehetzt. Fühlt sich für mich nicht rund an und klickt bei mir nicht. Dijak/Lee ist okay, aber die Handbremse war zu spüren. Vermutlich ging auch nicht viel mehr. Gerade noch ok. ACH/Thatcher unterstreicht deutlich, dass nun wohl jeder gegen Timonthy gewinnen darf und ACH wirklich weiterhin aufgebaut werden soll. Solides Match, aber trotzdem etwas zäh, wie beide einfach ihr Ding gemacht haben. Das Tag-Match ist dann auch weder Fisch noch fleisch. Catch Point hat wieder seine Tage. Der Sinn von diesem Stable erschließt sich mir immer weniger. Das Segment nervt. Larry Dallas auch. Das Riddle/Yehi-Match dann wiederum nicht. Gutes Ding, wenn auch wieder von CP-Geier gefolgt. Main Event war mir dann leider zu wild und in Teilen willkürlich. Ein pures One-on-One von Allin/Page hätte mehr Charme gehabt, so bleiben einzelne unterhaltsame Spots, aber als Match ist mir das zu wenig. Finish und der Trashcan-Spot ist ok. So gefällt mir EVOLVE 81 insgesamt aber leider nicht wesentlich besser als EVOLVE 80. Hat seine Momente, aber wenig Highlights, dennoch eine solide Show. |

Elgin vs Sabre war ein gutes Big Move Match welches zu lange ging *** 1/2. Rush vs Galloway war ähnlich gut wie der Opener (ggf etwas besser) mit guter David vs Goliath Story *** 1/2. Keith Lee vs Donovan Dijak war einfach nur großartig und ein Hoss Match welches man noch nie in dieser Form gesehen hat **** 1/2. ACH vs Timothy Thatcher hatte ich mir leider so gut erhofft wie ACH vs Sabre vom vortag, aber es war um einiges schwächer. Schade *** 1/4. Six Man Tag war absolut Okay. Ich mochte das High Flying, aber insgesamt ging auch dieses Match, ähnlich wie der Opener, viel zu lange ***. Fred Yehi vs Matt Riddle war einfach Fantastisch. Nach Dijak vs Lee dachte ich eigentlich das wir Safe das Match des WWN Wochenendes hatten, aber Yehi und Riddle haben nochmal einen draufgesetzt. Wunderbares Wrestling Match welches so unglaublich intensiv erschien wie kaum ein Match am Wochenende **** 1/2 MOTN. Ethan Page vs Darby Allin war ziemlich gut. Es war ein insgesamt sehr gutes, intensives Spotfest welches dem zu krassen Overbooking um Allin und dem Finish zum Verhängnis fiel. Ich meine ein Millitary Press von der Leiter durch 2 Tische einzustecken um danach noch nach einem Package Piledriver durch 2 Stühle auszukicken, ist einfach viel zu viel des guten. **** |

| 10 | 02.04.2017 | sign squad | 4.0 | Es ist ein Problem, wenn du im Opener schon alles raus haust an großen Moves, nach der Hälfte der Zeit bereits aussiehst, als hättest du keine Luft mehr und dann die Fans bereits ihre was was ich wie vielte Show sehen und auch schon etwas müde sind. Die zweite Hälfte des Matches ist super dröge trotz all der harten Aktionen (**3/4). Großkotz Galloway braucht zu lange mit der halben Portion Lio Rush fand ich. Das ganze nicht al großartig verpackt daher eher schnell vergessen (*1/2). Lee vs. Dijak möchte ich bitte noch mal sehen, wenn die nicht so müde sind, weil das hier schon ihr 4. Match am WE war oder so. OK, aber nicht wirklich gut. ACH gewinnt klanglos gegen Thatcher, der nun als Ex-Champions nach hinten durchgereicht wird. Fand das war ein ziemlicher Style Clash, der vollkommen unspannend war (**). Achso, und keine Evolve Show ohne technische Probleme: die Themes viel zu laut und Lenny Lennard versucht dann auch noch drüberzuquatschen, was komplett in die Hose geht. Das Six Man Tag Match hatte für mich zu viele Probleme: Ich kann Dickinson nicht leiden, Kincaid ist eine unsägliche Gestalt und dann ging das auch noch so unsäglich lange und chaotisch am Ende. Von hier an gings es für mich bergab, denn Yehi vs. Riddle fand ich uninteressant und Darby Allin in einem Main Event ist ziemlicher Käse. Typischer ECW Memorial Brawl gegen Page, der aber auch langweilig wird, wenn es mal über 12 Minuten geht. |

Elgin/ZSJ was a really good opener, way better than the matches both guys had the night before at 80 (***3/4), Galloway/Rush was awesome, Galloway is always fun against smaller opponents & Rush brought some good fire & selling (***1/4), Dijak/Lee was a statement by two guys who got misused in ROH - great big boy bombfest (****), ACH/Thatcher was fun, good psychology with Thatcher trying to ground ACH (***), Catch Point vs. Kincaid, Guevara & Theory was the only truly weak match of the night - very forgettable stuff (*), Yehi/Riddle was my most awaited match of the weekend & it did not disappoint, an absolutely fantastic, intense match (****1/2), the main event between All Ego & Darby Allin was very good even though I liked their previous match more - Allin is just an absolute madman (***1/2). Had the Catch Point tag match been better, this could've easily been worthy of 10 points, but even with that match being super dull, this was still a really great show. |

ZSJ vs Elgin was an opener; it was long and bland and worked more like a top match without having much tension or drama outside of Sabre bleeding (**1/2). Galloway's promo on Lio and Zack was awesome, and his match with Lio was as well; yet another awesomely-worked Lio Rush vs big man dynamic, albeit not quite as long as it may have needed to hit one last gear, with Drew himself showing why he's one of the best on the indies himself, and with a very definitive (but not de-elevating) finish (***3/4). Keith Lee & Donovan Dijak meet once again, as they are the hot new matchup on the indies; these athletic giants just went crazy on each other in this match, pulling out counters you usually see from men half their size, and with some pretty awesome pacing to boot; certainly something of a spotfest but the quality of the workrate, the charisma of both men, the crowd going nuts, etc. all make up for it (****1/2). ACH vs Thatcher fell beneath my expectations, and that's a shame since this sounded awesome on paper; good technical work from Thatcher, ACH's offense still shines, but these two just never clicked and that sucks (**3/4). Catch Point vs the Fliers felt like it went too long, and had too much dead air for this kind of matchup, but it still came together pretty well; Kincaid and Guevara shined through as innovative, smooth fliers, while Dickinson had a great showing (***1/4). Yehi vs Riddle worked Matt's neck injury angle perfectly, and showed immense chemistry on the mat and with striking; Yehi was so good at working the neck and weakening the exposed legs while protecting Riddle in defeat (****). Darby vs Page was a wonderful, bloody blowoff where Darby DIES a dozen times and keeps going; Ethan has shown was a dick heel he can be in this feud, and Darby constantly impresses; this felt final, and was worth the main event slot (****). Great show with some bland lulls. |
