[6.0] "Well if it wasn't for the Wrestlemania logo, I would've thought this was a great episode of a B-Tier PLE, but it wasn't. First 4 matches were good to very good. The Mixed Tag Team aged like milk. Rollins vs HHH is interesting to watch. Randy vs Wyatt is just straight bullshit. Lesnar vs Goldberg is terrible, one of the worst matches I've seen 0/10. That Six Pack Challenge should've been awesome, why was it not... Oh yes ITS BECAUSE IT WAS 5 MINUTES LONG... And Roman Reigns vs Undertaker could've been good, but just as Lesnar winning against Taker was the worst decision ever made, well Reigns winning against Taker was probably the fourth."

[4.0] "Another terrible Mania. The opener is really good and by a mile the MOTN, the Hardyz return was amazing at the time and Bayley winning was a nice surprise...that's it for positives. The last two matches were absolutely shit, Lesnar/Goldberg didn't do a lot for me, Orton/Bray was absolutely horrific, Rollins/HHH was underwhelming and the mixed tag was piss poor. Owens/Jericho sadly really underdelivered, it was by far the most anticipated match on the show and didn't really deliver at all even if it's not a bad match. Despite liking the result the women's 4 way wasn't very good either. Just like the year before this was utter shit and ended with a deeply unpopular Roman Reigns celebrating. Dismal."

[2.0] "Easily one of the worst manias ever with the most ostentatious and gaudy set I've ever seen. I know a lot of people love it and that's fine but it perfectly captures WWE in a microcosm. None of the matches were really that good. The tag team ladder match is more known for the Hardys return than anything that actually happened. Lesnar and Goldberg was 4 minutes of doing 4 moves between them. If you like that, great. I think it's fucking lazy and makes for a dog shit match. Also, three world titles matches aren't the main event, (although the women's match would never have been and rightfully so) in favor of another Roman Reigns slog where he does every pose shown to him and does his signature moves. Then we have Undie who couldn't move and you end up with not only a terrible match and main event, but Undertaker's bruised ego that caused him to keep coming back for worse matches."

I had never missed a Raw, Smackdown, or PPV in over 20 years at this point but this was the year that finally broke me. I still have not watched a single episode of Raw or Smackdown since and less than five PPVs since then. This show was a fandom killer."

[4.0] "I just don't see how this can be considered a good Mania when the lows are so low, and in big spots too. Through four matches this show has great vibes, with a killer opener between AJ and Shane, a Jericho/KO blow-off that may have disappointed but was still pretty good, a decent women's match with some flashes of greatness from the Horsewomen, and a momentous Hardyz return followed by a very fun ladder match. After that, it goes downhill. Cena/Nikki vs Miz/Maryse is damn bad, and a ridiculous angle with a poorly aged postmatch. Rollins/HHH is a horrible slog with no heat that basically kills the crowd with its drawn out nonsense, and then the Bray/Orton match lives in infamy for how strange it is even beyond the maggots and such. Goldberg/Lesnar is a pretty sick sprint, but when there's only about 5 good minutes in the final 80 minutes of action, that's pretty bad! SmackDown women's match never really had a chance, but I thought it was fine I suppose. And then the main event is just a sad affair, I thought they didn't allow it to become a total disaster or all-time bad Mania main event, but it still landed pretty flat and did nothing for Roman. A below average Mania that feels like it's becoming the new norm."

[5.0] "It's kinda hard because this was my first wrestlemania and the vibe of this Mania still makes me nostalgic. We had few great matches like the Opener, the US title, the ladde match, the Rollins vs Triple H and the Universal title match. But at the same time, there are stinkers that ruined the show completely. The main event was bad enough to ruin the match then you also have the best feud turning into the worst match in Bray wyatt vs randy Orton and the mixed tag match genuinely makes it a tough watch considering what would happen later. This is a show with its ups and downs.."

The best match was Shane/AJ which was not a total banger but still really nice. The worst matches were Wyatt/Randy (pretty awful) and Taker/Reigns (mega awful). Many ups et downs, still good moments in the bad matches (Cena proposal for example)."

I remember the main event ended right at midnight eastern, after starting at SIX PM. This went way too long, half the matches could've probably been cut and it would be a much better show. If there were ever an argument to split WrestleMania into two nights, this would be the one. MVP goes to AJ Styles for carrying Shane McMahon and stealing the show."

Overall WWE WrestleMania 33 (2017) is a really good show despite it's good amount of flaws."

[7.0] "AJ Styles and Shane McMahon were a pleasant surprise. I expected the match to be a sleeper, but it turned out to be anything but. But the US Championship match was a disappointment. I wasn't a fan of Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens at the time, but everyone kept saying that these guys were talented and would definitely show a good match. Well, they were talented, but in my opinion, they didn't have chemistry either at WrestleMania or at the following shows where they fought each other. The fatal 4 way match for the women's title was average, with the right winner. The return of the Hardy Boyz shocked me. I don't know if there were rumors about their return, I just didn't follow the news at that particular time, so I was pleasantly surprised directly at the show. I would like to forget once and for all that mixed tag team match, in which the winners were also wrong. Seth Rollins and Triple H showed a brutal fight, although 25 minutes was too much. 15 minutes would have been enough. The match between Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt was absurd, and the beetles were more embarrassing than scary. The match between Brock and Goldberg exceeded all expectations. A short but brutal match in which I was rooting for Lesnar - and he won. Another women's multi-sided match, which was an order of magnitude worse than from the representatives of RAW. The main event of the show was not as bad as people make it out to be. Everyone blames Roman Reigns for a lot, forgetting that Undertaker was in terrible shape. Reigns did everything he could and even more - and won a deserved victory. In general, the atmosphere was festive, unlike the previous WrestleMania 32. And the 6-second match between Rock and Erick Rowan was brilliant"

"Better than the last one I guess? Neville vs Aries was decent but went on too long, the Andre BR was when it became a joke, with jobber Mojo Rawley winning instead of someone they were going to invest in, all just because of a celebrity spot. Dean vs Corbin was meh, just overall incredibly forgettable. AJ vs Shane was surprisingly great, Shane definitely redeemed himself from 32. KO vs Jericho was okay but it really should have been for the world title instead of that absolute joke of Orton vs Wyatt having a world title on the line. The women's fatal 4 way was a disappointment and a massive step down from 32. The tag ladder match was okay, but it was mostly just there for nostalgia pops with the washed up old tag team beating the up and coming teams (Cesaro fell of so hard after WMXXX and Sheamus took years and years to recover from being treaten like an absolute joke). The mixed tag was enjoyable, The Miz and Maryse's heel work being great because they were ultimately completely right. The proposal at the end was very uncomfortable though (Nikki literally couldn't say no, even if she wanted to). Seth vs HHH went on too long like every HHH match. Orton vs Wyatt was a complete joke - Bray tragically dying recently doesn't change the fact that most of his matches were terrible, especially the ones post-2015. Lesnar vs Goldberg was fun and didn't drag unlike other matches (HHH). The women's 6 woman was a disappointment, the 'women's revolution' was complete BS since the combined 10 women featured on this show got only 18 minutes to themselves, which is tiny in proportion to some of the men, especially since all the women's entrances were cut short in the 6 woman. As for the match itself, it was a clusterfuck with each woman doing a single spot then rolling out, and then it ended. This match was literally put in the 'piss brake' spot, why do they treat the women like shit whilst letting washed up guys go 30 minutes in shitfests? Roman vs Taker - did Vince's brain get fried that badly from decades of steroid abuse? Old ass Taker who can't do anything vs 'crowd will literally kill him' babyface Roman for 23 minutes in the MAIN EVENT for literally nothing because the streak ended 4 years prior. If WWE were smart they would have done this at 32, with the streak intact, and have Roman squash Taker and beat him into a bloodied pulp, turning him heel. Instead they kept on with this failed Roman experiment for 3 more years and it literally took Roman's leukaemia coming back to get the crowd to actually like him. Roman eventually paid off as a top star but was it really worth sabotaging 5 years of your product?"

[6.0] "Decent Mania that could've been way better with some fixes. First couple of hours are pretty good Aj/Shane is a surprisingly fun back and forth match that stole the show (8/10) Jericho/Owens told a really good story and had memorable moments, specially love the finger on the ropes, wish they had done this feud for the Universal titleinstead of dropping it down the card, still really good match (8/10) The women's title four way despite some slip ups here and there is a solid match with a good win for Bayley (6/10) and the Tag team title ladder match is a fun spotfest with an added bonus of the Hardy's returning (8/10) Mixed tag match is innofensive but uninteresting and kinda weird in hindsight with the proposal (4/10) Triple H/Rollins is awesome and told a really good story, even if it was a bit too long (8/10) Orton/Wyatt was a really dull and short match worsened by the ridiculous mat projections (3/10) Goldberg/Lesnar didn't need to be for a title, but it was a damn good sprintof a match (8/10) The Womens Six Pack match was way too short to be anything of note and felt just like filler (4/10) Taker/Reigns starts off alright with the "It's my Yard" bit but drags on for way too long, with Taker not looking good in the ring and no one caring about Roman (3/10). With a few booking fixes and a more streamlined pace this would've been an awesome Mania, but as it is I still think is a decent show"

Something felt off the entire show for me, and a lot of matches should've been better than they ended up being. The Hardys coming back is the highlight of the show but the match itself wasn't anything special. The only match I would consider rewatching is Goldberg v Lesnar which was short but very exciting and fun."

[2.0] "A show that is carried by a big moment in the Hardys comeback and a brilliant stage. Overall, like many Manias around this time, it's way too bloated and long to be good. I genuinely don't think any match on this show is a classic. Orton vs. Wyatt is one of the worst Mania matches ever. One of the worst main events in history that could have been saved with Roman turning heel and Taker retiring, but neither of those happened for another four years. This show was like a 6 hour Transformers movie where all you remember are the pretty explosions."
GMS18 wrote on 07.04.2023:
[7.0] "A mixed bag that clocks in at a grind of 5 hours but a quite enjoyable show with arguably the coolest stage and most horribly catchy theme song in 'Mania history. Styles/Shane is a surprisingly great opener, the ladder match is fun with that feel-good Hardyz return, Brock/Goldberg is awesome. Owens/Jericho, the women's title matches, mixed tag, and Rollins/HHH aren't great but aren't too bad either and have some cool moments (the one finger on the rope, wins for Bayley and Naomi, Cena's poorly-aged but still sweet if you squint proposal, Steph leisurely going through a table). Orton/Wyatt is the lowpoint - weird feud, ridiculous match, wrong winner. The main event isn't great and the story can't cover for outright botches and gaps in the action but I do like what it's going for and think Reigns putting down the old man is compelling on paper. Of course, if the crowd cared for him at all or he was the heel he should've been then it might've worked a lot better. The aftermath with Undertaker's seeming farewell is nice but obviously doesn't hit the same when he doesn't retire after all."
violet011 wrote on 07.04.2023:
[6.0] "This is a real mixed bag if there ever was one. The first 2 hours is pretty great as Shane and AJ both have a career performance even if it is Shane being portrayed as an actual wrestler. Kevin/Jericho is good despite it's weird card placement and downgrade from potential main event, the womens match could've been better but it had its moments and the Hardy Boyz returning for the ladder match was fantastic. Then the next hour and a half comes with a pointless mixed tag and a badly aged proposal, another overly long HHH match but this time with Rollins and an all time stinker with Bray/Orton. Goldberg/Brock is fantastic and MOTN though, the Smackdown women get no time but Naomi gets a nice moment and the main event is...awkward, depressing but somewhat captivating in it's highest moments. Taker doesn't stay retired but for the moment it feels right. Great set design so fair play but the consistency isn't there and there's too many moments that made me cringe or facepalm to totally give this a great rating but Shane/AJ, Brock/Goldberg and the Hardyz was fantastic so it's worth it for that."

Goldberg Lesnar is so surprisingly good, I remember it being a huge bright spot on this show and it stands as that on rewatch (****). Hardy Boyz return was amazing, and lead to that match having great energy, biggest disappointment on the show for me was by far Wyatt vs. Orton, had a good long term build but the match was really bland, crowd was never into it and it really fell flat. WHO CARES? it was pure emotions it was fantastic storytelling, the most important Match in Roman Reings Carrear and one of my Favorite Main Event ever in WrestleMania History. I don't Watch Wrestling for the moves and Athletic ability because we all no it is not è sport, so main event between The Undertaker and Roman Reings is Great because it makes us emotive that is what a spectacle like WWE must do. The Story was amazing, both of them interpreted perfectly it (Taker Selling was Fantastic) and it was an Epic Bout , the atmosphere was eletric and it was the one of "The Great events". Fucking Amazing and it should have been taker retirment beause it was perfect. Besides that all the event was excellent. We had the Return of The Hardys , we had three great matches (Aj vs Shane to kick of the show, Owens vs Jericho and Seth vs Triple H that was a "old School Style match). it was a celebration like few others I ever saw in my story with the WWE. The opening was one of the best ever, personally the third best ever opener in WrestleMania history (second only to HHH vs Bryan and AJ vs Shane) , Owens vs Jericho was a hidden gem and Seth vs Triple H was excellent from a psicology point of view and storytelling. Personally the first two hour was among the best ever in WWE. Star Power was amazing with also Goldber and Brock lesanr to compete against each other and Storylines to come to the event were built in the best way possible (I fucking love personal and emotive storylines). Bray vs Orton colud have been a classic with much more time because the stuff around the match was excellent . So from a WRESTLING point of view it was good but from an ENTERTAINMENT and EMOTIONS point of view it was an Amazing edition of Mania and one of my favorite, for sure the best since XXX to nowdays for sure."

[9.0] "The stage was symbolic of the event, it was definitely a roller coaster ride! Right out the gate we got the best match of the night between AJ and Shane. I can't believe how well Shane worked a match that wasn't a no holds barred situation. Kevin Owens and Jericho picked up strong right where they left off. Good strong story and once again when the time is right Jericho did the favor. Heck even the women's title match delivered after back to back great matches i expected them to be delegated to a bathroom break match. Instead we were treated to a near 13 minute match that had plenty of substance. Then came the shock of the night and the returning Hardy Boys! Even crazier they won the Tag Titles! Moving forward to the only disappointing moment of the night being the Cena win over Miz i really though John would do the favors for once but what you gonna do. Orton winning of Bray was kinda disappointing and the match sorta fell flat as well... Lesnar vs Goldberg exceeded expectation! sure only 5 minutes but they made great use of their time and told a solid story that fans could leave happy with! SD Women's title match..... ehh not to talk about here, even the winner made no sense. Then came the main event.... i wont be shy i am not a roman reings backer. That being said the match was better then i expected and although i don't like seeing roman go over the moments following the match made for one of the most special moments of all time. R. I. P Undertaker....."

[4.0] "I don't know what to say, i wasn't excited at all (surely because i didn't watch wrestling for a while).. First we start with AJ Styles against Shane McMahon, amazing match, a classic for me, i can compare it to some WCW matches from the good ol' time, but still, some things disturbed me, 8/10. Then, KO winning the US Title wasn't a good idea for me, he should have won it at Summerslam, or something like that, but still the match was dope, but they haven't showed all of their talent, 7/10. WWE RAW Women's Title, was such shit.. Bayley, Sasha Banks disgusts me, Nia Jax is good, but Charlotte is a perfect hell.. 4/10, the match was shit. The ladder match was cool, i seen better from the Hardy Boyz, or more specially of the ladder matches. It was like ok-ok 7/10 Cena & Bella VS Maryse & The Miz, was another bury, thanks WWE, no seriously.. give The Miz a one last push before he end his career (he's already 38, give him a push now for like 6/7 months, he'll end his career like a boss), and the Cena & Bella moment was cringy as fuck, 2/10 Seth Rollins VS Triple H was fucking dope, their was some "seen before" moments, but Triple H improved his in-ring, seriously, he haven't destroyed the match and he sells perfectly (just like Rollins), 9/10 for sure Randy Orton vs Wyatt, same thing than KO VS Jericho, they should have reported the match, and seriously it was ok-ok just like the ladder match, dammit, so short 5/10 Lesnar VS Goldberg, hum, ah, yeah, like.. humm.... da fuck was this shit? 0/10 WWE SmackDown Women's Title "Six Pack" Challenge, nothing to say, 4/10. Roman Reigns VS Undertaker ? Haha.. 2017 biggest joke, none of them can wrestle ANYMORE. They should've let Lesnar be the only men to conquer the streak, he loses all credibility now.. 2/10 4/10 for me.. one of the worst wrestlemanias i have seen seen Top : KO VS Jericho, AJ Styles VS Shane McMahon, Seth Rollins VS Triple H, Ladder match"

AJ vs Shane was surprisingly really good and fun but not really surprising when you remember AJ is in the match, ****; KO vs Y2J had awesome storytelling but the crowd was so dead, ***1/2; Womens match could've been an epic but was hampered by Nia and having to make Bayley look like a star, ***; The ladder match was really fun especially with the Hardyz return, ****; Intergender match was a nothing match but it was endearing to see Miz have so much fun, **; Rollins vs HHH had the potential to be an awesome match but the psychology was so off for such a dead crowd, ***3/4; Orton vs Wyatt was just a finisher spam cringefest, *; Goldberg vs Lesnar was surprisingly really fun considering its length, ***1/2; Womens match was forgettable and all about giving Naomi the spotlight, **1/4; Main event started off strong but the Taker botches and dead crowd just ruined it midway, ***1/2."

[3.0] "This is the first year I have ever been at the location of WMania and chose to spend it outside the venue. I made this vow after last year's toilet-bowl crud, but didn't expect I would live by it. It was going to be like a vow made on Lent. But after this line-up was released, and Taker/Reigns was announced as Main Eventing, I stayed home perfectly content to have spent this weekend w/out spending a single dime on WWE. I don't think it's bitterness or that I have grown too old for the product; I think it sucks b/c there's so little that feels organic. In the future WWE will try and turn the Cena proposal to Nikki like some transformatively emotional moment like Savage reuniting with Elizabeth at WM VII. As a human, even w/out any other knowledge other than what WWE shows you, if you think that is the case I will never trust your intuition. In the latter, Savage was being reunited w/ his wife after turning heel on her and spending two years apart. The reuniting of Savage-Liz was so that Randy could take sometime off, and work out the kinks of their declining union. Whereas Cena-Nikki is an inside joke that the two fameseekers (and if Miz had John's abilities he would do the same, you too-easy marks) share b/c they're too grand and progressive of people to keep something private like that in its proper intimate setting. Oh, but I digress, and let's progress... Well, I really liked the roller-coaster set-up. Nahhh - let's continue to trash this shit. Discounting that we've gone from AJ title defenses to the ten minute schlock affair that was Orton/Wyatt, and that the title is being passed around like some common hot potato, it's incredibly unwise for the company to create a completely new way to conduct matches, the plastering of the maggot/worm images, and then have its perpetrator lose w/ the ol' 'RKO out-of-nowhere. [6.0] "A pretty mixed show. Some really great moments and some really boring ones. AJ vs Shane was surprisingly alright once the big spots were introduced. ***1/4. Owens vs Jericho was alright, with a nice story told of the rivalry between the two. ***. The Raw Women's Title match was a mess. Not much good chemistry and not a very exciting payoff to Bayley's "big Wrestlemania moment". **1/2. The Raw Tag Team Ladder match was very good. Lots of great spots and a tremendous return with the Hardyz. ***3/4. Miz & Maryse vs Cena and Nikki had tremendous hype with Miz constantly stirring the crowd up behind him all match-long. Sadly this went the typical route. Still quite entertaining. ***. Rollins vs Triple H was a good conclusion to their rivalry. Rollins' leg selling was inconsistent, but good at times. Triple H's general aggressive, prideful presence was awesome. ***1/2. Orton vs Bray was a nothing match. Some finisher teases, some creepy visuals, and then an abrupt, disappointing finish. **1/4. Goldberg vs Lesnar was good when considering the timeframe and how well both men played their roles. ***1/2. Smackdown Women's Title match was very awkward and emotionless. **. Reigns vs Undertaker was hard to watch with Undertaker so broken down and the general poor chemistry between the two. The story being told of Undertaker's last match and Reigns' "claiming" of the symbolic WWE crown wasn't very convincing. *3/4"
