[4.0] "One of the weakest New Japan events I have ever seen, with only Tanahashi having a **** star or more match. The GOD vs. Ishii & Yoshi-Hashi was much better than expected. Everything else was at best ok at worst trash. Main event was really bad and predictable."

[8.0] "Another really strong card . The final of the Jr. Tag tournament far out shined the grandeur of the tournament itself . Lethal did well in the main , aside from one communication issue . This card moved things towards the Dome in nice fashion . Matches worth watching : Angel de Oro, Fuego, Ryusuke Taguchi & Titan vs. David Finlay, Jushin Thunder Liger, Ricochet & Tiger Mask , Guerrillas Of Destiny (Tama Tonga & Tanga Loa) (c) vs. CHAOS (Tomohiro Ishii & YOSHI-HASHI) , BUSHI (c) vs. KUSHIDA , BULLET CLUB (Adam Cole, Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) vs. CHAOS (Gedo, Hirooki Goto, Kazuchika Okada & Will Ospreay) , Katsuyori Shibata (c) vs. EVIL , Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. SANADA , Tetsuya Naito (c) vs. Jay Lethal and my top match was ACH & Taiji Ishimori vs. Roppongi Vice (Beretta & Rocky Romero) ."

[8.0] "Another good NJPW show although in my opinion a bit down compared to most of their big shows during the year. A very good card as NJPW once again showed why they are by far the best wrestling promotion on the planet. The only bad thing I can say about the show is that Im kindve sick of New Japans opening matches which always seem to be a throw away match although when i compare them to most standard WWE matches they are much better than those. Another good show in a great year for the wrestling promotion of the year."

[6.0] "The Three First Matches were the typical NJPW undercard, GOD/Ishii AND Hashi was Great, Very Fun Fast Paced Action (***1/2), Super Junior Tag Tournament 2016 Final Match was Good (***1/4), Bushi/Kushida - Nothing Special (**1/2), Bullet Club vs Chaos was good (***1/4), Evil/Shibata - Very Good Match and Great Psychology in Shibata's Shoulder(****), Sanada/Tanahashi - Great Match (***3/4), Naito vs Lethal was an Absolutely MEH (**1/2)"

[6.0] "After being WoW'd by 'KOPW, ' this show left me flat. Neither of the T Dome Main events were featured in a way that garnered my interest. As this was the final 'Big' show before Jan 4th, one would think the (very entertaining but less so than the 30th) eight man would present Okada/Omega in a manner to allow its prospective audience to get a feel for their joined essence by introducing them within a 1st act/elementary setting, but their interaction was still limited to sequences and third-act denouncements. I thought Omega would have more of N Jackson's swag after pinning the champ but he seemed lost in thought/not as someone who just pinned his nemesis. In addition, watching ginger-Tana semi-waddle to the ring (after a solid 3 1/2 with the still-prime though distant SANADA) and almost recite his challenge as an obligation, and not as the last defender of NJPW sekigun honor/dignity, was disheartening. Granted, I saw these two live in their physical prime at 'KOPW' '11 so I may be harsher than the average fan... and the T Dome match should serve as Naito's crowning achievement so that should be different. Regarding the matches, the IWGP tag title will be higher on the card than the Jr. Tag title so I thought those matches were out-of-order. Even so, the's fan's desire to be that crowd that sees Y-H win a title, and his ability to wring-out close falls, were a hilight. The crowd's boo'ing of Kushida rubbed his match the wrong way. 3 good, 2 pretty good... nothing great."

[7.0] "The first three matches were standard NJPW opening tags with mostly-good talent. The Tag matches were both good, with the Jr. Tag being a bit too long and with perplexing winners (***1/4) and the Heavyweight Tag Titles being more hype due to the stakes and how much the crowd loves YOSHI and Ishii (***3/4). KUSHIDA vs BUSHI was a solid match, better than their last, which saw KUSHIDA work somewhat around the boos he was receiving, both winning over part of the crowd and acting a tad heel to justify them (***1/2). Kamaitachi returning was awesome, barring that he isn't keeping the name "Kamaitachi". 8-Man tag was decent, fun stuff (***1/4). Shibata vs EVIL was the war I wanted it to be, and showed why EVIL is so damn good at what he does, and rightfully gave him the NEVER Title (****1/4). Tanahashi vs SANADA did some interesting things towards the beginning, but slowed down and did some weird things and spots that made no sense, particularly SANADA doing a moonsault where he lands on his feet after Tana worked his leg all match (he still sold it, but it made him look like an idiot); still a very nice match (***1/2). Naito vs Lethal was the most basic main event I've seen all year; technically sound, but was 25 minutes of nothing. Unlike your average Okada main event, it didn't start in the middle, dip in quality and then spike up for the finish; no, this match, plateaued REALLY early and stayed there for 25 minutes. I like both guys, but this was not their best showings, nor their best match together (***, perhaps ***1/4). A bunch of solid matches with one stand-out great match on this show, with some decent build towards the Dome show."

[9.0] "High end show of the year contender. The multi man tags were better then normal, even Boner vs Yoshi Tatsu wasn't completely horrendous. GOD had one of the best IWGP Tag Title Defences in a long time, EVIL got his first championship in a fun brawl with a hot crowd, Bushi and Kushi had their best match yet, Tana and Sanada had a great match the Jr tag match was sick. The main event was pretty meh, due to a dead crowd and long match time."

[9.0] "Really great show. Very entertaining from start to finish. 6 man **1/4. 8 man **1/2. BC vs GBH/Tatsu **1/2. GOD vs Tacos/Ishii was great. Even Tanga Roa did a good job. All guys worked hard and made a really good match ***3/4. ACH/Ishimori vs RPG was an awesome high energy match. Surprised RPG won but I'm not mad as they've been great as of late. We haven't got a RPG vs Bucks match in awhile so I'm excited ****. KUSHIDA vs BUSHI was a great match, better than their Destruction one. Surprised to see KUSHIDA get so many boos ***3/4. Dreamteam vs CHAOS was great. Really fun action with a great end ***3/4. EVIL vs Shibata was great, surprised at the result ***3/4. Tanahashi vs SANADA was fantastic and as expected MOTN, they have great chemistry. SANADA will be a huge star for NJPW in the future ****1/4. Lethal vs Naito was good. Didn't find it as bad as some did. Thought it could've been better but I enjoyed it ***1/2. Great show overall and an incredible build to WK11"

[3.0] "Just like w/ pretty much every New Japan show, the first 3 matches were total filler & nothing matches - once we get to the "actual" card, you got G. O. D. taking on Ishii & YOSHI-HASHI & it was pretty good, definitely the best the Guerrillas have looked together so far (**3/4), RPG Vice vs. ACH & Ishimori was meh, pretty much the usual from the junior tag division - nothing new & nothing that stood out about it (*), BUSHI/KUSHIDA was really, really good, loved KUSHIDA's performance in it & I am glad that he has the title again (***3/4), Bullet Club vs. CHAOS was pretty boring, the only things that I liked about it were the little Okada/Omega interactions & the Gedo 1-on-4 spot (*1/2), EVIL/Shibata was very good, on par with their underrated G1 match - loved the aggression shown by EVIL & Shibata was excellent as usual (***1/2), Tanahashi/SANADA = real good with some well executed storytelling, tied for the MOTN honors w/ BUSHI/KUSHIDA (***3/4), the main event between Naito & Lethal was better than expected, I hated their ROH match, and this one went even longer so I expected myself to hate it, but it was OK (**). Overall not quite seeing the show-of-the-year-candidate hype, but Power Struggle '16 was an ok, yet forgettable show. 3 matches worth watching, but not must see."

[9.0] "Excellent show, would've been a top tier show of the year if it wasn't for the underwhelming main event. The opening 8 man tag was a lot of fun, good stuff (***) and the Geek Club/GBH & Tatsu wasn't actually THAT bad (**). The G. O. D/Ishii & Yoshi-Hashi match was probably the best tag title match in what, forever? It was goddamn awesome (**** 1/4), the best G. O. D has ever looked by far. ABS & Flips vs RPG Vice was another excellent match (****). BUSHI/KUSHIDA was very good, great story and the post-match was awesome as well obviously (*** 1/2). CHAOS/Elite was a lot of fun, great 8 man tag (*** 3/4). Shibata/EVIL was an excellent hard hitting match, really enjoyed this (****). Tanahashi/SANADA was easily Match of the night, as good as their G1 match, phenomenal match (**** 1/2). Naito/Lethal was a really good main event but it was still very underwhelming, not on the level of a typical NJPW main event (*** 1/4). This show ruled. PS: I am not really sure if the guy who gave this show 3 watched a different show or he just hates his life."

[8.0] "There are a lot of things I was disappointed with, particularly all of the title matches minus the GoD match which all sat below four stars. The non-title multi-man matches were a lot of fun, and the IWGP Tag Title match was the best match for that title in years and was the best match of the night. The CHAOS team did a lot of carrying, but GoD is starting to show big improvement, ****. KUSHIDA/BUSHI was easy to follow but was nasty and had a weird pace, ***1/2. EVIL/Shibata bordered on great, but lacked the expected viciousness, ***3/4. ACH-Ishimori/RPG Vice wasn't bad but it went on for too long and wasn't as exciting a match as you'd expect from the teams involved, ***1/4-1/2. Tanahashi/SANADA had decent moments and a good story about one-upping each other, but the constant Dragon Sleeper attempts slowed the match down and overall is lacked anything special, ***1/2. The show was already four hours old by the time the main event started. The crowd was worn out by then, and so was I. The action was decent but it died a slow death. ***1/2 is the absolute highest I can give it, but that'll likely go down. Overall, a very consistent show with fun matches that really fizzled out at the end."

[6.0] "evilOpening tags were meh as usual although I did enjoy the Jr 8 man tag bout. Tag titles and Jr Tag Tourney Finals were both good and really good. Team Okada vs Team Omega was really good and very enjoyable as well (***1/2). KUSHIDA/BUSHI bored me to death and Kamaitachi as the time bomb mystery just sucked. I'd say if it wasn't for the finish I'd give EVIL/Shibata MOTN (***1/2). Last two matches were decent but they went longer then they should've tbh. So overall good show with ACH & Ishimori vs RPG Vice being my MOTN (***3/4)."
