The opener for example got The Honky Tonk Man there and even though it wasn't as bad as I expected it to be, it still wasn't the wrestling classic. Then Pretty Wonderful vs Stars and Stripes thankfully was as good as their last Fall Brawl match, but then we were back to bullshit with Dave Sullivan playing his stupid, imbecile gimmick. Dustin vs Arn was alright, although it lacked more hatred between both guys, Duggan vs Austin was single-handedly carried by Steve's phenomenal performance, Vader had another decent match with Boss Man, but it was getting stale at that point and The Nasties vs Funk & Buck was all about a very good character work from heels especially. And then the main event delivered and they once again produced a big fight feeling, while also adding some very nicely executed chaos in the final minutes. The crowd loved it and was loud from start to finish, plus the aftermath with Brutus turning on Hogan was a nice way to set up the world champion's next feud. |

Ein omnipräsenter Main-Event lässt den Rest der Card eher blass in den Hintergrund treten. Der Aufbau der Partie Flair/Hogan ist zwar vorbildlich, der Matchverlauf jedoch erneut Hogans Ego geschuldet eher eine Enttäuschung. Zwar kommt es im Abschluss der Show noch zu neuen Storyentwicklungen (nennen wir es ruhig den Ursprung des Dungeon of Doom), jedoch ändert dies nichts am Gesamteindruck. Die Show ist ein ausreichendes Erlebnis, jedoch sicherlich kein Wunderwerk. |

There was also a good tag match in Nasties vs Funk/Buck, which ended with a funny but believable and memorable comedy spot (the piledriver on the pumpkin), a pretty good Dustin Rhodes vs Arn Anderson bout, a decent enough US Title match in Duggan vs Austin (and a promo where Austin showed a hint of the future Stone Cold persona), and an OK Tag Title match with Pretty Wonderful vs Stars & Stripes. Not an iconic Halloween Havoc, but an OK show in its own right. |

Dustin vs. Arn was good, great chemistry between those two, should have gone a bit longer though. Duggan vs. Austin was bad and one of WCW's "fuck you" to Austin. Vader vs. Guardian Angel was OK. Nasty Boys vs. Buck & Funk was not that great. However the main event was really good with a hyped and loud crowd that made the match flow perfectly. Putting Flair's retirement on the line for the match really made it seem important, and use of the steel cage made the match sense. Overall a pretty OK show, mostly the main event. |

Das TT Title Match war für mich das MotN. Bagwell erlebt zudem ein Deja-Vu zum Vorjahr. (3 1/2*) 3. Das Match der Sullivans war Schrott. Zwei charismafreie Typen tretten gegeneinander an. Typisch für die damalige Zeit, zieht das Match auch noch. (-*) 4. Rhodes gegen Anderson war solide. (2 3/4*) 5. Duggan gegen Austin war an der Grenze. Einerseits vergönn ich Duggan einen Title Run, aber der hätte etliche Jahre früher kommen sollen. In den Mit-Neunzigern gab es doch bessere Talente die den zweitwichtigsten Titel der Company halten sollten. (1 1/4*) 6. Im Anschluss zerstört Vader den ehemaligen Big Boss Man. Mit Vader hätte man sicher besseres machen können. (1 3/4*) 7. Das TT Match war nichts Besonderes. (2*) 8. ME siehe Guide. Der PPV konnte mich überhaupt nicht fesseln. Man merkte schon erste Anzeichen des Hogan Einflusses. Sei es vom grauenhaften ME Booking als auch die Überschwemmung der Hogan Buddies in der Company. Wer will bitte einen Duggan mit dem zweitwichtigsten Titel sehen? Männer wie Sting & Austin treten gar nicht an oder müssen den Kasperl für andere spielen. |

Opening match is horrible, HTM spends most of the match applying a rest hold, all to build up a badly executed draw. Endless videos about Hulk Hogan and his ridiculous storylines. The tag title match is actually pretty good, but the Sullivan match is truly one of the worst I have ever seen. Arn/Dustin is a great match, thank goodness, they do what they can to turn the show around. Unfortunately Austin/Duggan is another horrible match, not even Austin can get anything worthwhile out of Duggan. Vader/Angle is actually pretty fantastic, massive hoss battle, so that's one last good point in the favor of the show. Tag match is not that good, lots of gross Nasty stuff with armpits and whatever. Main event is not horrible but not very good at all, insanely overbooked and mostly centered around Hogan no selling and making Flair look like a joke. After the main event we get the pitiful reveal of "Brother Bruti" as Hogan's next main antagonist. A few worthwhile matches but a whole ton of crap too on this show. |

| 32 | 10.04.2016 | colonel | 6.0 | Maximal brauchbarer Opener der in meinen Augen das Ziel die Crowd anzuheizen verfehlt, aber auch kein totaler Stinker ist. Das Tag Team Match gehört dann gleich zu den besseren des Abends. Hier wird solide Action gezeigt die mich gut unterhält. Ganz im Gegensatz zu den Sullivan-Brüdern, die keines von beiden hinbekommen. Weder solide Action noch Unterhaltung. Lowlight des Abends. Rhodes und Anderson bieten einen soliden Midcard-Brawl der mit vielleicht 5 Minuten mehr richtig stark hätte werden können. Einzig der Finish war mir zu billig. Duggan ist immer schlecht, auch wenn das Ganze nicht so katastrophal wie bei Fall Brawl war. Aber Duggan zieht den Gürtel einfach runter, da mit ihm keine guten Matches möglich sind. Danach zeigt der Guardian Angel eine wirklich solide Leistung gegen Vader und das Match ist soviel besser als bei Fall Brawl. Allerdings ist das hier aufgrund der kurzen Matchzeit natürlich auch kein Klassiker, aber 20 Minuten Matches mit dem Angel will ich auch gar nicht sehen. Das Tag Team Match war da, mehr nicht. Nicht gut, nicht schlecht, einfach da. Der Main Event war allerdings ein wirkliches Big Time-Match, da es um beide Karrieren ging und das Publikum dementsprechend heiß war. Im Ring wird nichts grandioses gezeigt, aber alles das was man von den Beiden erwarten konnte. Das Overbooking ist zwar Geschmackssache, aber ich finde hier passt es und wertet das Match eher auf. Einer der besten Main Events mit Hogan bei der WCW, die ich kennen. Insgesamt viel Licht und auch viel Schatten. Ganz knappe sechs Punkte mit einer klaren Tendenz zu den fünf Punkten. |

Jim Duggan vs. Steve Austin for the United States title ended in an over the top rope DQ, stupid. I didn't really care for the TV title match either between Johnny B. Badd and Honky Tonk Man. That match ended in a time limit draw, stupid. Not just that but the aftermath was pretty lame on Honky Tonk Man's part. I liked the spot at the end of the Nasty Boys vs. Bunkhouse Buck & Terry Funk match where one of the Nasty Boys did a piledriver on Funk through their pumpkin. Unfortunately any time you put Vader and Boss Man in a match against each other back then, you weren't going to get a very good match out of them. The Sullivans match is not even worth going over. The only matches I liked watching were the tag title match, Dustin Rhodes vs. Arn Anderson, and the steel cage match between Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair. Rhodes vs. Anderson was a pretty good wrestling match with a good finish by Dustin getting the quick pin and a good aftermath that made sense with Anderson attacking Rhodes afterwards. The steel cage match between Hogan and Flair during the first half of it was good too and could've been a better match if the psychology made sense towards the finish which unfortunately I felt didn't, but I thought the aftermath of the match with Brutus Beefcake turning on Hogan with the help of Earthquake & Kevin Sullivan and Sting coming out for the save kind of made up for it. |

Vader/Angel gab es schon besser, ist aber auch nicht schlecht. Der Brawl danach ist ebenfalls solide. Der Main Event war soweit ganz ordentlich, hat natürlich eine grossartige Stimmung und viel Dramatik, aber dank Ego-Over-Booking, gerade bei der Stipulation (die dann ja eh später ad absurdum geführt wird, was hier aber erstmal egal sein soll), stößt es doch etwas sauer auf, wo das Match beim Bash es noch nicht tat. Über das Sullivan Match hüllt man besser den Mantel des Schweigens, ebenso über das Begraben Austins durch Duggan und das Booking Team. Badd/Honky Tonk braucht man ebenfalls nicht. Richtige Glanzlichter fehlen also, dafür gibt es viel solides Mittelmaß und einigen Mist. Dank dem Main Event und Rhodes/Anderson aber noch knappe 5 Punkte. |

Richtiges Wrestling gibt es erst im Tag-Team-Title-Match zu bestaunen (9/10). 2 Sullivans sind 3 zuviel (0/10). Rhodes vs. Anderson hat technisch versiertes Wrestling gepaart mit der notwendigen Aggressivität zu bieten (8/10). Austin vs. Duggan ist einigermaßen erträglich (5/10). Vader vs. Guardian Angel hat ganz unterhaltsame Passagen, ist größtenteils aber langweilig (5/10). Es folgt ein wüster Brawl, was bei den Beteiligten ja nicht anders zu erwarten war; das Match ist aber durchaus unterhaltsam (6/10). Der Main Event ist episch inszeniert, es gibt zwar „leichtes“ Overbooking, aber damit war bei all den Entwicklungen in dieser Story auch im Voraus schon zu rechnen, ****1/4 finde ich allerdings ein bisschen zuviel (9/10). Gesamt: 5, 75. |

Das anschließende Tag Team Championship Match bot in dieser Hinsicht wesentlich mehr. Ein durchschnittliches Match mit weitaus besseren Aufbau als das Fall Brawl Match ein Monat zuvor. Das Sullivan Match war kaum erwähnenswert, ähnlich wie das United States Title Match. Keine Szenen, die auch nur annähernd mittelfristig im Gedächtnis bleiben. Zwischendurch gab es noch das Match Arn Anderson - Dustin Rhodes, das durchaus zu gefallen wusste, jedoch zu kurz angesetzt wurde. Die Paarung Guradian Angel - Vader war schwächer als in den Monaten zuvor, aber noch immer einigermaßen akzeptabel. Das darauf folgende Tag Team Match hingegen war erneut katastrophal. Zu guter Letzt bleibt noch der Main Event, der diesen PPV immerhin noch etwas Farbe verleiht. Wohl eines der besten Hogan-Matches, doch ein absoluten Klassiker habe ich hierbei nicht gesehen. |
