[8.0] "People forget how good WCW could be at times, but this show honored the past with the Hall of Fame inductions and provided the best action of the era in the matches. Not one single match on Slamboree underdelivered, even the ones that seemed underwhelming on paper like Rhodes vs Buck. After this event WCW went in a different direction, going all in on Hogan as top babyface and eventual top heel with the NWO, to its own detriment in quality if not finances until a few years had passed and the house of cards collapsed. This largely-forgotten era should still be remembered as a peak, where the spirit of the 1980s NWA lived on."

[7.0] "Another great job of combining the tribute for the legends with delivering good matches. It was nice to see the likes of Ernie Ladd, Killer Kowalski or Tommy Young, who haven't been seen very often at that time, plus seeing back Tully and Terry having a match was nice, although the bout itself wasn't my favourite. The opener with Austin and Mero was very solid with both guys showing fantastic chain wrestling, Zbyszko looked great in his returning match against Regal, Dustin vs Buck was a great followup to their incredible Bunkhouse Match and Flair vs Windham was better than I expected with Barry seeming more into it that during his last run. Then The Nasties had another entertaining Street Fight against Cactus, this time with Kevin Sullivan joining the party, while the main event had Sting and Vader delivering another very good contest in their rivalry, even though they had some better bouts in the past. Overall a very solid show - a nice mix of nostalgia and the proper PPV."

Yeah, this is a really good event for WCW. And in one month, Hulk Hogan comes in and changes things forever."

[8.0] "I found this to be quite an enjoyable show. Notable matches include a good Sting vs Vader main event, a very entertaining tag between the Nasties and Cactus/Sullivan, a nice opener between Austin and Badd, and a match between Larry Z and Regal that was probably the best of the handful of (all good) matches they had. Going with the "legends" theme, there's also a good bout between Funk and Blanchard (Funk, relatively fresh off his first ECW Title reign, was already being portrayed as a returning old-school legend though it would turn out that his active career still had well over two decades left to go). Flair vs Windham was fine, but maybe not quite as good as you'd expect; it would turn out to be Windham's last WCW match until 1998. Rhodes vs Bunkhouse was OK but was the definite weakest link among matches this night. A lot of stuff they did here was in front of the right crowd, as the overall historic theme, old-school brawling of Funk vs Blanchard and then-new-school hardcore of the Tag Title match all played well to the Philly audience. We even got to see Funk beat up the ECW Hat Guy's hat! Just a good watch all around."

[6.0] "Another solid PPV for WCW. 1994 was actually a pretty good year up until Starrcade 94. If only the Attitude Era WCW PPV's had been half this good..."

[8.0] "Great event with a very stiff main event. Good matt wrestling in the opener with the right winner. A nice brawl in the second event of the evening, Larry Zbyszko had a very decent match with Regal and the crowd was really into Larry. Nature Boy vs Windham was a bit worse than i expected. The world tag title match was a really nice brawl. I recommend Sting vs Vader to you. Vader is beating the hell out of Sting and he broke the rips of Sting after two devestating Vader Bombs. Really nice event. Last event before Hogan joins WCW."

[9.0] "A great and underrated event, in my book. Austin/Badd was pretty good as an opener, though I was expected a bit better. Windham/Flair turned out pretty excellent despite Windham's injury and ring rust, more credit to both of them, and the tag title and bullrope matches are also excellent brawls, each in their own way. Funk/Tully is a great match out of nowhere, and Regal/Zbyszko is the surprise hit of the night as Larry turns back the clock and Regal rises to one of his best performances to date. Vader/Sting is a supremely underrated main event, as good as some of the matches in their more famous "trilogy", with incredible hard hitting action from Vader and Sting actually working to his strengths for once, which he sometimes struggles with. Some nice legend appearances as well, all in all a very good show."

[7.0] "Another good event for WCW after a historic one. There are no bad matches in this event, only good fights without something really remarcable. Ric Flair vs Barry Windham and Sting vs Vader are two good matches, but not classics. The tag team match for the titles is really hardcore just like the one at Spring Stampede. Recommended because it was a good period for WCW."
