[5.0] "A very mediocre show, most of the matches seeming to go to their hot finished without any proper build-up, lots of matches with slow, meandering starts and annoying booking of New Japan over everyone else making some matches very predictable."

[7.0] "Another tournament from the land of the never ending tournaments . Boy could this tournament use Kamaitachi . Really bland crew with the back bone being the NOAH guys . They are all capable but kind of bland . The only exciting entrant , Eita , was extinguished very early . Most of the matches where solid and entertaining . Matches worth watching : Kaji Tomato vs. Matt Sydal , Gurukun Mask vs. Kenou , Eita vs. Jushin Thunder Liger , Titan vs. Will Ospreay , BUSHI vs. Yoshinobu Kanemaru , Daisuke Harada vs. Ryusuke Taguchi and my top match was KUSHIDA vs. Taiji Ishimori ."

All results, therefore, served the larger purpose of putting together the best possible complete show rather than putting together the best possible tournament."

[8.0] "Great show. Sydal/Tomato started the show of solid (**), Kenou/GurukunMask was a good showing for both guys (**3/4), Taichi/Aoyagi was horrible (*), Liger/Eita was great, I liked it more than most people (***3/4), Ospreay/Titan was your basic highflying match (***), Kanemaru/BUSHI was pretty great, great antics by both guys (***1/2), Harada/Taguchi was fantastic, with Harada playing a dick to Taguchi and Taguchi making the comeback (****), KUSHIDA/Ishimori was great, had Ishimori sold the arm better, it could've been a classic (****)"

Each to their own I know but I found this to be a very enjoyable start to the tournament, with all but one match delivering to expectations with a good few over-delivering on top of that. Plenty of guys looking very good in defeat and the likes of Kushida, Sydal and Ospreay looked impressive as always. Taguchi continues to have his best year in a long time."

[9.0] "Such a fun show from top to bottom, only one match (Taichi/Aoyagi) did not deliver. The best matches were Sydal/Tomato, Kenoh/Gurukun, Liger/Eita, and KUSHIDA/Ishimori. The main event was a legitimate **** match, while everything else was ***+. Very enjoyable watch, and I'm way more excited for the Finals than I was before this."

I thought this would be like the G1 with everyone trying to top the last match but there was as much good wrestling here as you would see on a WSU show, lots of botches and most guys not being on the same page mixed in with terrible heeling that the crowd didn't care about. On top of all that the outsiders were just brought in to make the NJ/NOAH guys look strong, they looked weak in their losses."
