[7.0] "This was an interesting show. A lot of the matches weren't up to the standards set by WCW in the past, but they moved things along quickly enough, that you couldn't really notice the weaknesses. The show opened with a surprisingly decent match between The Fabulous Freebirds and The Young Pistols over the vacant United States Tag Team Titles. this was followed by a pair of short matches, with Dan Spivey taking on Ricky Morton and Nikita Koloff facing Tommy Rich. Dustin Rhodes battled Terrance Taylor in a match that should have been kept short, but wasn't. Then there was another pair of short matches, with Big Josh vs. Black Bart and Oz vs. Tim Parker. Barry Windham took on Flyin' Brian in a solid Taped Fist Match, before El Gigante took on Sid Vicious in a thankfully short stretcher match. Ron Simmons and Butch Reed faced off in a less boring than you'd expect Steel Cage Match. The Steiner Brothers defended their World Tag Team Titles against Sting and Lex Luger in the match of the night. Beautiful Bobby won a rare singles title, defeating Arn Anderson for the World Television Title in a good match. Finally, Ric Flair defended his World Heavyweight Title against Tatsumi Fujinami in a good match despite the politically complicated surroundings of the match."

[4.0] "Terrible build for the event with WCW appeasing New Japan as best they could over the NWA title shenanigans, all the while spinning their own separate storyline talking about the WCW World title with no mention of NWA. And the match itself was really boring so I'm not sure what the intention was with this whole thing but it never worked. Elsewhere on the card we had a load of new debuts/redebuts/repackages so a lot of short squashes to get them over, but unfortunately they all SUCKED. Basically it was down to Steiners, Sting and Luger to save the event and while they had an amazing match, they only got 11 minutes which is nowhere near enough to make us forget about things like stretcher matches with nobody leaving on a stretcher, actual bears in the corner of Big Josh, and the whole abomination that was Oz."

[6.0] "Some really good stuff on this show, although once again there were so many matches that could have been cut off and the time given to the bigger ones. For example Luger & Sting vs The Steiners was fantastic, but once some animosity started settling in between the two babyface teams the match ended right there. We really didn't need Spivey jobbing out Morton, Borne beating Bart or Sid's fight with El Gigante, but it is what it is. The good matches made up for it though. The opener was fun with The Freebirds deciding that they're gonna have a good match tonight, Dustin vs Taylor had a decent finish, Windham vs Pillman was a beautiful hot shot and Simmons vs Reed was probably Ron's best Singles Match ever. Also Anderson vs Eaton was a great bout with Arn showing off his incredible bumping and selling skills, but the main event was disappointing. It was a clash of styles and both guys weren't really on the same page, plus the crowd didn't seem that invested. They did some nice stuff though and it wasn't a disaster, but it definitely didn't meet the expectations. So overall a nice show, but Jesus Christ Herd start cutting some stuff out."

[7.0] "This was a pretty strange card on paper that ended up feeling a bit all over the place by the end. There was some great stuff here, but there was just as much that didn't really work. The main event definitely underwhelmed, and some of the undercard bouts were bizarre (that entrance for Oz has got to be one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen from a major promotion. What on Earth were they thinking with that one? ), although personally I thought they were at least strange enough as to be endearing (it helped that they were all pretty short). Sting/Luger-Steiners, Anderson-Eaton, and Windham-Pillman (and to a lesser extent the Doom cage match) were all really entertaining, though, and definitely made the show worthwhile. At the very least I think the show succeeded at being interesting, which is often the most important thing to me, and there was certainly enough that was good here to earn a pretty positive rating."

[6.0] "This was a pretty solid show and had some good matches, but very much like WCW of this time it was also filled with some matches that were short and/or not really PPV worthy in my eyes. They brought Black Bart back to work in 1991, and debuted Oz for two different interesting points for this show. DDP has been driving me crazy in these early appearances and with the Freebirds; I just wanted him to shut up. My MVP for this show was Tatsumi Fujinami for coming over from Japan and having a great match with Flair in front of a crowd that didn't really care. If I could rate the Sid vs El Gigante Stretcher match I'd have given it a zero. This was after their annual co-promoted Super Show in the Tokyo Dome."

[6.0] "I thought the card was a mixed bag. On one hand, you had the classic Luger/Sting Vs. Steiners match and Flair Vs. Fujinami. On the other hand, you had El Gigante Vs. Sid Vicious with the attack of The One Man Gang afterwards, as well as Oz debuting, Johnny B. Badd debuting, and a decent show overall."

[7.0] "God bless early 90s WCW in which you get Fujinami, Flair, Barry Windham and a host of other absolute greats on the same card as El Gigante, Oz and a truly awful Black Bart vs Big Josh match. The crowd could not quite work out what to make of it all. Second half is considerably better than first."

[8.0] "You can take your pick as far as the first hour of the show goes, though I don't think it's even that bad. Sure it might be full of squashes, but none of them were offensive or either went way too long at all. What you need to definitely check out from this show however, is everything from the Taped Fist fight all the way down to the WCW-NWA Title main event (except for Sid/Gigante of course! ). An absolutely tremendous 1 hr 40 mins of rasslin', rich with quality from almost everywhere."

[6.0] "This show was a weird one. The first half was REALLY bad, and at one point I was afraid this was going to be an all-time suckfest. But then after the taped fist match, the show took a complete 180º turn, with a number of really good matches and even a couple of ****+ match of the year contenders. Overall, I'd say watch the second half of this show and you'll be alright."

[6.0] "The inaugural Superbrawl featured a fair amount of padding, but it did have several standout points - an excellent babyfaces-vs-babyfaces World Tag Title match between the Steiners and Sting/Luger, a fine international main event in Flair vs Fujinami, and a fun tag team opener between the Freebirds and Young Pistols. It also features the debut of Kevin Nash's Oz gimmick, the entrance for which simply has to be seen to be believed."

[8.0] "Part of the undercard is really bad, it starts with a good match and until Windham vs Brian the other matches are not enjoyable. Oz gimmick was stupid, I'm glad Nash changed it soon. The final four matches are great, I like how Reed and Simmons tried everything to give their feud a good Cage match. Steiners vs Sting & Luger and Flair vs Fujinami are two amazing fights. Recommended."

[9.0] "Underrated event, the first half of the card is admittedly weird but also entertaining in a strange way, and the second half of the card is phenomenal, the last 4 matches are gold. The only thing that really rubbed me wrong was the opening match, Freebirds had no business going over a hot team like the Pistols at this late point in their careers, plus there was some bizarre stuff with a guy in a bird suit that was just stupid. But mostly a great show, worth watching for many reasons."
