[3.0] "The show's opener is quite dry and uninteresting. The whole Kashmere/Gage segment is a huge mess, as the interactions barely make sense and seemed designed to bury Johnny Kashmere, who nevertheless still manage to come out with a bit of dignity and perhaps a better direction going forward. Justice/Rebel is just as boring as the first go, but at least this is more concise and pushes Rockin' Rebel further down the roster, which was much needed. Wifebeater/Hatred is a puzzling match, going by really fast and switching the championship belt causally in what seems like a really rushed push for the obviously green Nate Hatred, also compressing the Wifebeater/Hatred program in a very narrow time frame. Blade/Mondo was a pleasing main event, very athletic and using the grudge to build intensity and pack a lot of action while concluding the year on the right foot. The show's quality is inconsistent and the booking harms much more than it helps, but the strength of the main event and the obvious efforts of guys like Justice Pain and Johnny Kashmere stuck with crappy matches almost makes the show decent, as I have sympathy for the struggles of the roster while the management continuously fumbles the ball. Hopefully, the year 2001 can see them turn the corner and be much more coherent and consistent."
