[9.0] "Hiroyoshi Tenzan vs SANADA Nach dem schwachen Match gegen Tana zeigt sich Tenzan in seinem Letzten G1 Match eine starke Leistung, kompliment am SANADA der hier noch Tenzan glänzen lässt (***1/2) Togi Makabe vs Tomohiro Ishii Typisches Ishii vs Makabe Match obwohl es um nix mehr geht hauen die beiden sich wieder dienarübe ein klasse (***3/4) Bad Luck Fale vs Tama Tonga War echt nicht so schlimm wie befürchtet und hatte dann auch eine Spannung da Fale mit einem Sieg noch Chancen aufs Finale hatte (**3/4) Hirooki Goto vs Naomichi Marufuji Dieses Match  war der best mögliche Semi Final! Spannende  Finishsequenz und starkes Wrestling von beiden (****) Hiroshi Tanahashi vs Kazuchika Okada Mann kann agen was man will aber die beiden haben hier ein Dickes Ausrufezeichen gesetzt und die Sumo Hall zum Kochen gebracht Die Dramaturgie war bis ins unermessliche hoch hier. Die Kontersequenzen um den Rainmaker und den High yfly Flow und der glaube das doch einer doch hier noch gewinnt Bock stark und ein MOTYC (****1/2)"

[9.0] "Great show . Some new faces added to the under card from ROH and NOAH . It did not enhance or detract from the match quality . The tournament matches where mostly strong and the final two matches where excellent . . Matches worth watching : CHAOS (Toru Yano & YOSHI-HASHI), Atsushi Kotoge & Katsuhiko Nakajima vs. Katsuyori Shibata, KUSHIDA, Michael Elgin & Satoshi Kojima , BULLET CLUB (Hangman Page, Kenny Omega, Tanga Loa & Yujiro Takahashi) vs. Los Ingobernables de Japon (BUSHI, EVIL & Tetsuya Naito) & Jay Lethal , Hiroyoshi Tenzan vs. SANADA , Togi Makabe vs. Tomohiro Ishii , Bad Luck Fale vs. Tama Tonga , Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Kazuchika Okada and my top match was Hirooki Goto vs. Naomichi Marufuji ."

[9.0] "Wie erwartet richtig stark. Tenzan vs. SANADA war ein gutes Match (***1/2). Ishii vs. Makabe war das beste Makabe-Match des Turniers. Vor allem war es nicht so langsam geführt wie die anderen Matches von Makabe (***3/4). Tama Tonga vs. BadLuck Fale war das Low Light der Show. Auch wenn die Matchstory mir gut gefiel (**3/4). Goto vs. Marufuji war sogar richtig stark und war ein guter Schlagabtausch (****). Okada vs. Tanahashi war das was man erwartet hat: einfach großartig. Die beiden schaffen es einfach immer zu überzeugen und nie zu enttäuschen. Die Dramatik. Das Finish. Es hat mal wieder alles gepasst. Auch wenn es für mich zu den schwächeren Tanahashi/Okada Matches war (****3/4)."

[9.0] "Fantastic show. The undercard was just there but the G1 section was tremendous. The main event is one of 2016's best matches with just unbelievable drama. I don't remember the last time I was so invested in a wrestling match. Must see stuff. Briscoes vs. Yoshitatsu/Captain NJ *, Nagata/Nakanishi/Liger/Tiger vs. Honma/Taguchi/Juice/Finlay **3/4, Shibata/Elgin/Kojima/KUSHIDA vs. Yano/HASHI/Nakajima/Kotoge ***, Los Ingobernables de Japon vs. Bullet Club **, Tenzan vs. SANADA ***1/2, Makabe vs. Ishii ****1/4, Tonga vs. Fale **3/4, Goto vs. Marufuji ****, Tanahashi vs. Okada *****"

[9.0] "This show was great! You had a really good Tenzan/SANADA match (***1/2), a good Ishii/Makabe brawl (***) an amazing Marufuji/Goto encounter (****) and the absolute CLASSIC of a Main Event (*****) - watch this show!"

"Because I'm a punk, though an aspiring erudite, I would never be caught dead wearing a Los Ingovernables shirt but when it comes to recognizing my place in Sumo Hall while beholding the empty spaces down below, I am ungovernable and thus I willingly besmirched the 'dignity' & 'honor' of Japanese culture. So at intermission my friend and I moved from the upper decks to the third row of stands and God Bless it was an upgraded experience. That being said I can't find it within my Scrooge heart to give Sanada/Tenzan more than 2 1/4 because Hiroyoshi's finished body does not provide the audience with a competition worthy of an athlete one would pay for. Almost all T appeal comes from the heart, and not the mind, and so it/he goes. Ishii/Makabe: 3 1/3 An issue I have with these matches is that M, like the selfish Sasaki before him, has a thick, immobile frame that on their career's downside doesn't make for a quality seller of a smaller man's offense. This nuance hurt M/I's feud in '15 and it made this match only slightly above-average. If their matches (and it appears they'll have more based on Night 18's tag, ) are to better succeed they need to commit to a different storyline than just two men of fighting spirit bruising it out. Tama/Fale: 2 1/2 I wish they just did the 'Fingerpoint of Doom' so I didn't have to sit through the obvious denouncement; the fact that F 'Too Sweet'ed' TT afterwards is Wrong! F, dude, didn't you want/care to go to the finals? ! Why aren't you pissed? !"

[9.0] "Und auf einmal steht Hirooki Goto im Finale! Unfassbar und es ist schon geil alles ungespoilert zu sehen, das erste mal, dass ich es so weit schaffe. Die Undercard war ja schon cool. Völlig random sind auf einmal Atsuchi Kotoge oder auch die Briscoes dabei. Tenzan hängt sich nochmal rein bei seinem vielleicht letzten G1 Match. Ordentliche Sache und Sanada bekommt zum Glück auch seine 8 Punkte. Generell Respekt an Tenzan, der das gesamte Turnier immer motiviert war und alles gegeben hat, trotz seines Körpers. Ishii und Makabe liefern sich einen harten, glaubwürdigen Fight mit der richtigen Länge und auch Ishii bekommt also 8 Punkte. Tama Tonga vs. Fale war ganz nett gemacht, wobei es ja schon irdendwie dämlich ist, dass ein Stable-Partner dem anderen einen möglichen Finaleinzug kostet. Gutes Match von Marufuji und Goto mit einem für mich überraschenden Sieger. Erst nach diesem Match dachte ich, hey vielleicht gibt es ja ein Draw im Main Event, da Goto ja gegen Okada und Tanahashi verloren hatte und so sollte es ja auch kommen. Ganz starker Main Event von Okada und Tanahashi mit großartiger Dramatik und fantastischem Timing."

[10.0] "This was an excellent show. Prelim tags were a lot of fun, and all the tournament matches delivered big time. SANADA/Tenzan was very heated and the post match was very, very emotional. Great stuff, probably Tenzan's 2nd best match in the tournament (*** 1/2). Ishii/Makabe was exactly what you'd expect from those two, and it was fucking great (**** 1/4). Fale/Tonga was a good match (***), and Goto/Marufuji was excellent, best Goto match in ages (**** 1/4). Okada/Tanahashi was a masterpiece. This match was just epic, and the ending was perfect for this story. This was a ***** match for me. Overall this was probably the best show of the tournament, and it easily makes my top 10 list of the best shows this year."

[6.0] "A pretty solid show, just nothing must see. Tenzan/SANADA was ok, the highlight was the emotional post-match moment w/ the crowd, Tenzan & Kojima (**), Makabe/Ishii + Fale/Tonga were both pretty good (**3/4), my favorite match of the night was Goto vs. Marufuji, I am not a fan of the result, but Marufuji had a great tournament, and capped it off by giving Goto his best match of the year - so far - (***1/2), the main event between Okada & Tana was exactly what you'd expect from them, I thought it was pretty good, not seeing the MOTYC hype however (**3/4)."

[10.0] "Holy shit. Let me start out, Tana vs Okada was a fuckin masterpiece. Never once did that feel like 30 minutes. Even tho it was a draw and Goto moved on that was my MOTY, even better than WK10. Some sloppiness but that plays no part in my grade bc the story was there and this was exciting as shit. I'd say one of the greatest matches of all time *****! Tenzan vs Sanada was a really good match with the crowd going wild for it and Tenzan. Tenzan winning would've been nice but it was also good to put over a rising star on his way out as Sanada is the future of NJPW. Lot of emotion in the match and it made it even better ***3/4. Ishii vs Makabe was a good hard hitting match, tho not really anything new from them. They had the crowd with them which helped it ***1/2. Tonga vs Fale was entertaining for the story they told. Tonga checking the ref in the beginning was funny. I actually think Tonga would be a great face after the BC. The match was a nice tease of a BC implosion ***1/4. Marufugi vs Goto was a great match that really picked up in the second half. Not to excited about Goto in the finals like I would've been last year but hopefully he can deliver another great match. Overall best G1 show and a perfect closing for A block. Every match delivered above 3 stars with a 4 and a 5 star all time classic"

[10.0] "Diese Show und Tag 13 waren für mich die bisher stärksten Shows im diesjährigen G1! Sanada vs Tenzan war absolut Ok. Es wirkte wie Tenzans abschied und war zum ende hin emotional, da die Fans ihn unbedingt als Sieger wollten (***), Ishii vs Makabe war geil. Beide fo*zen sich einfach durch die Gegend. Es tat selbst beim zuschauen weh und es macht mir Angst das ich es so geil fand. Ishii mit einer weiteren Weltklasse Performance und Makabe mit seinem besten Turniermatch (**** 1/4). Tonga vs Fale war Storytechnisch das was bei EVIL vs Naito fehlte. Match ging klar (** 3/4). Goto vs Marufuji fand ich ziemlich gut. Beide haben nochmal zum Ende eine tolle Performance abeliefert (****). Dann DER Main Event! Ich habe dieses Jahr kein dramtischeres und Spannenderes Match gesehen. Dazu das allgemein geile Match zwischen beiden, aber diese letzten 5 Minuten setzten die absolute Krone auf! Dies war das Match des Turniers! (*****)."

[8.0] "Zum Glück gibt es für die Sumo Hall Shows etwas Veränderung in der Undercard. Briscoe Brtohers hauen ohne Probleme die "BULLET CLUB Hunters" weg. Atsushi Kotoge durfte nur kurz gegen KUSHIDA ran, sah ganz gut aus. BULLET CLUB vs. LJdJ + Lethal war ganz kurzweilig. Tenzan kämpft in seinem (hoffentlich) letzten G1 Match noch wie ein Löwe. Ishii und Makabe liefern sich einen stiffen Schlagabtausch wie bei ihrer NEVER-Matchserie 2015. Fale vs. Tonga ist das typisch kurzweiliges BULLET CLUB internes G1 Match. Von Goto und Marufuji war ich etwas enttäuscht, war aber ein gutes Match. Der Main Event ist dann eins der besten Time Limit Draws die ich bis jetzt gesehen habe."
