[7.0] "Thought this was a pretty good card. The tag match stole the show for me as it is easily one of my favorite tag matches that I can remember. Other than that there were just pretty good matches. Andrade had a nice introduction into NXT with his short little match. Aries Nakamura was really fun and hard hitting by two talented performers. Women's champ match was pretty forgettable for me. And the main event was pretty good but nothing too special. Overall pretty good but lacking compared to some other takeovers."

[9.0] "The opener was a fun sprint that showcased the debuting Andrade in a pretty good way. American Alpha & The Revival had their second chapter written in a better and thrilling form than their chapter written at Dallas with a surprising change of hands for the titles. Nakamura vs. Aries lived up to most of the expectations but still left a bit of vacuum to be filled with excellence. Jax had the best match on her NXT tenure against the dominant Asuka for the title as it was kept short but felt strong for both women. The main event was a superlative cap-off to an exceptional rivalry between two of the best currently in Joe & Bálor. The intensity didn't feel low, and the action was hard-hitting as expected. This TakeOver gave a great transition from the start of something huge for NXT to building up as a phenomenon after laying a rock-solid foundation under Triple H's guidance. 8.5 out of 10 points!"

[8.0] "Nothing special, and probably the weakest Takeover since Unstoppable from May last year, but every match here was still worth watching. The opener was a fine showcase for Cien Almas (**1/4), AA/Revival was great, but just like their previous match at Dallas had one flaw, this time being that it was overlong, although this was still better than their Dallas match (***3/4), Aires/Nakamura was great as expected (***3/4), Asuka Vs Nia Jax was unexpectedly awesome (***1/2) and Joe and Balor was the usual between these two, although still very good (***1/2). Another hit from NXT on the whole."

AA and Naka had a great match, but it was clear Aries did the bulk the work. Asuka vs Jax told a great story, but ended to soon. The steel cage match was very dissapointing."

Kana and Nakamura but WWE has a terrible track record with promoting Mexican and Japanese stars . All the matches where very good and displayed the diverse fields they are reaping for talent now . Matches worth watching : all of them and my top match was Samoa Joe (c) vs. Finn Balor ."

[9.0] "A really good show. I had 3 of the 5 matches above ***. The opener was a good debut match and had some nice moves (**1/2). The tag titles match was MOTN for me (****1/2). Austin Aries vs Shinsuke Nakamura was a great Match too though could have been better (****1/4). I thought the woman's match was quite poor (*1/2). And the main event was enjoyable (***1/2). An enjoyable show with the usual good crowd and two great matches and one good main event."

[8.0] "A good show, an easy watch. The opener introduced Almas nicely, and Tye Dillinger looked good too. The tag bout was my match of the night, a four star match. An unexpected title change too. The Aries-Nakamura and Joe-Balor matches were both very good, probably around the ***3/4 star range. The womens match was fine, not really up to the standard of the rest of the card but not bad either."

The event was propelled by two outstanding matches, the Aries-Nakamura and American Alpha-Revival bouts. The rest of the show was good as well, though there are some nitpicks - the main event, while good, did seem to lack a certain intensity you'd expect from a feud-ender, and I've never liked the WWE-style escape-rules cage matches (I appreciate that it did at least end with a pinfall). Almas-Dillinger was a good opener and fine debut for Almas, though could have been more with more time, and Asuka-Jax was better than expected. Not the top of the heap of the TakeOver specials, but certainly an enjoyable watch."

[7.0] "The most average takeover event so far. The Tag Match was MOTN, good pacing, great entertainment. Nakamura vs Aries probably the second best match on the card, good wrestling throughout but Nakamura no selling his leg let this match down a bit. Didn't think Asuka vs Nia Jax wasn't that bad but not particularly great either, the best in ring performance Nia has produced though in my opinion. Finally the main event was a let down, just glad their feud is finally over."

[9.0] "A show of the year contender for WWE. The opener was the weakest match of the night, but that is understandable, as it was a 5 minute movez exhibition showcase match (*), the tag title bout was a major improvement from the match they had in Dallas, as it was very good, borderline great (***3/4), Aries/Nakamura was great, Aries' performance in it was outstanding, my pick for the best match of the night (****1/4), I loved Asuka/Jax, just a really well worked David vs. Goliath battle (****), and the main event between Finn Bálor & Samoa Joe was really good (***3/4). All in all, an amazing show - with no really weak matches (except for the opener). Thumbs up for NXT!"

[9.0] "Three great matches to enjoy, an opener more than acceptable and Asuka vs Jax which flopped a bit because wasn't that interesting even with a good feud behind. Shinsuke Nakamura is already the top wrestler of NXT, people get crazy for him. The tag team match is impressive, the real surprise of the night. The Steel Cage match was far from perfect, a decent one on one brawl."

Mizzle Assault Ant wrote on 09.06.2016:
[7.0] "Pretty good show, Alpha/Revival and Nak/Aries were great match, and the women's match was pretty good as well. I was kid of disappointed by the opener though, Andrade underwhelmed in his first showing, and I didn't really care for the main event. Still, I enjoyed it for the most part. Also, Bobby Roode sighting!"

Almas Vs Dillinger was a nice debut for Almas and the superkick spot was amazing. Tag Team match was very good and I was surprised Revival won. Nakamura Vs Aries was very good and MOTN. Asuka Vs Nia Jax was horrible, I am so done with this feud and the NXT women division. Joe vs Balor was good."

[5.0] "This was a good show but nothing special by any means. Opener was meh, Tag Title match was decent and so was Asuka/Nia Jax but the ending to that was really good. Aries/Nakamura was really good though I though it was a bit sloppy at times. Joe/Bálor was good but it was overhyped for me as I was expecting a lot more from it tbh. There was nothing that was GREAT or stiff that blew me away but it was just good IMO."

[9.0] "This was a damn good takeover right here. La Sombra had a good debut, The tag title match was great, Aries vs Nakamura was awesome, the women's title match was very good (I've been waiting for Asuka and Nia Jax to face off ever since they debuted), and that steel cage main event was awesome. That super muscle buster spot scared the crap out of me. I'm relived that Balor wasn't seriously injured. If he was slightly out of place, we could've had another Tyson Kidd situation on our hands. Overall, I was greatly entertained by this show and I think I'll find myself going back to this show on the network a whole lot."

A fantastic Aries vs Nakamura ****1/4. A suprisingly great women's match. Nia looked her best and this went above my expectations ***1/2. And lastly the main event was great ****. Every match delivered and made for a straight through entertaining night. No low points. Great show"
