[7.0] "Blessed be Josh Alexander and his willingness to put his body back on-the-line as it appears fragile and anytime capable of breaking. But by giving him this tournament victory it not only rewards someone whose (unforeseen) departure weakened the continuity and value of AIW's biggest prize, but it is a short-term gain over a more lucrative babyface story to see this vulnerable man fight against the odds to one-day capture a tournament's crown that will most likely only be worn once. I also found the charisma between the two babyfaces within the finals to be a bit lacking... hardshots without much attitudinal punch. Speaking of lacking is whomever the lead commentator was as there were several instances of ignorance an indie promoter looking for credibility should not have: a)calling a chopper Misawa-like; dude, that's Kobashi b)in the finals AR was pinned because of how JA had hooked his body into a powerbomb-like piledriver, not from RR's DVD. Of the three semi-final matches I would rank them in order of 2, 3, 1 with 2 & 3 easily better than one yet none of them poor or unentertaining. Certainly so was Cabana and B Gunn's perhaps contentious riffing at the start of Match 1 and 58 yr old Severn looking quite capable/strong in Match 2. In other news - the Swoggle/C Hawkins match predictably sucked, Hope and Change adding a S & M entity to their package, Eric Ryan in fine form in his first match in six months, and Homicide and Page having a fine, if too long, brawl."
