[6.0] "This solid show had a lot of very average matches. The fatal 4-way match and the main event were good."

[9.0] "There was a couple of decent matches, a couple of not so good matches and the Ambrose Asylum was just horrible, but the fatal four way was phenomenal, AJ Vs Roman was spectacular and one of the best extreme rules matches ever and Seth's return was amazing setting up Money In The Bank. Overall Extreme Rules (2016) is a great show thanks to its top 2 matches and closing angle."

[7.0] "Another show with a lot of ups and downs. While its lows don? t drag the show down quite like 2009, they are just enough to prevent it from reaching above 7. The opening tornado tag was fun although it left you wanting more from them. Kalisto vs Rusev was your classic David vs Goliath match but they made it work. New Day vs Vaudevillains was fine but nothing special happened, unlike the Fatal 4-way for the Intercontinental Championship which was excellent and still worth a watch. Unfortunately, the show was then brought down by the Asylum match. Aside of the thumbtacks spot which was impressive, it was a borefest. Charlotte vs Natalya was mediocre and then they had to reference the Screwjob again. Fortunately, the main event was great fun and allowed the show to end on a positive note, even if fans wanted AJ to win."

[9.0] "Awesome event with two MOTYC. The Club/Usos was a fun tornado tag match (***1/4), Rusev/Kalisto was a fun fast paced match (***1/4), The New Day/The Vaudevillains was far too short for a tournament final and never got going (**), The IC title match was awesome, the storytelling was great and the pace never let up (****3/4), Ambrose/Jericho was 10 minutes too long with a bad stipulaton, they never really had a chance (**), Charlotte/Natalya was a decent match with a silly ending (**3/4), Styles/Reigns was an awesome fast paced brawl, and really raised the stock of both men. (****3/4)."

[8.0] "Most of the matches where decent but it didn't feel like a really good show until the main. For all the hatred towards Reigns it's not like he is in bad matches on the big shows . The people that complain about him obviously did not live through the Hogan , Warrior era . Another long mediocre Ambrose Jericho match dragged things down a bit too . Matches worth watching : The Club (Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows) vs. The Usos (Jey Uso & Jimmy Uso) , The New Day (Big E & Xavier Woods) (w/Kofi Kingston) (c) vs. The Vaudevillains (Aiden English & Simon Gotch) , The Miz (w/Maryse) (c) vs. Cesaro vs. Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn , Charlotte (c) vs. Natalya and my top match was Roman Reigns (c) vs. AJ Styles ."

The match of the night was Jericho vs Ambrose. Jericho's selfless act of putting over Ambrose and taking thumb tacks to the back was great."

[7.0] "A pretty good PPV. The opener was alright thought should have been much more dominated by the club **. Rusev vs Kalisto was much better than expected, a good little man big man story with the added injured back story ***. The tag titles match was short but good with a great new day segment before hand **3/4. The intercontinental title match was MOTN ****1/2. I seemed to enjoy Jericho vs Ambrose more than most though I do appreciate it was a little slow ***1/2. The women's title match was very poor, very disappointed with natalya's selling going straight for a sharpshooter with ease despite all the leg work from Charlotte *1/2. And the main even was a good match too ****. Overall a pretty good show with a decent crowd. Only two matches really worth seeing though. The return of Seth Rollins brings this show up too, a nice surprise and good way to close off the show."

[5.0] "A mixed bag to say the least. To be fair, the main event was very good, though not without its issues (Reigns booked overly strong; AJ losing more PPV matches for WWE than he's won; the nerfing of the Styles Clash; and whatever happened to the Usos' injury angle from the first match? ). The IC four-way was an excellent example of a multi-man match. The women's match was fine until the very lame ending, and the Ambrose-Jericho match was a plodding affair, suffering from the fact that it was meant to be an "extreme" match, yet in the PG era they just aren't allowed to do anything too crazy (thumbtack spot not withstanding). There's a point where if you can't do something right, it might be better to just try something else instead. The rest of the card was "perfectly acceptable wrestling" - nothing bad, though nothing truly standing out."

Anyway, star ratings: Usos vs. Anderson & Gallows (*3/4), Kalisto vs. Rusev (**3/4), New Day vs. Vaudevillians (*1/2), Fatal 4 Way (****1/4), Jericho vs. Ambrose (***) (Props to Jericho for the tacks spot), Charlotte vs. Natty (*3/4), Reigns vs. Styles (****1/2)"

[7.0] "Pretty good show with a fair mix of high points and low points. I thought the asylum match could have been more exciting than it turned out to be but the thumbtacks were a nice little treat at the end. The triple threat and the main event were the best matches on the card. Those two matches were just a series of awesome moments in quick succession and it was great. Overall, Extreme Rules was good this year although some matches could've been better than they ended up being."

[5.0] "Superman booking again. Yay. Really WWE, really? Once again we had the chance to see one of the best PPV ever, but they keep doing these stupid booking decisions. Fun fact: that happened exactly with the best matches in the card in terms of ring quality. Both the Fatal 4 Way and the Main Event were really good matches - despite the terrible superman booking mentioned before. The end, however, JESUS!"

[8.0] "Probably my favorite WWE event of the year this far. The 4 Way and Styles/Reigns stand out the most for me (****1/2). Everything else was decent, meh, or just bad. Didn't care for the Aslyum match except for the ending. Tag Title match was good (**1/2), and Gallows & Anderson vs Usos was good and the way it should've been as well (***). Overall I really enjoyed this and better than any of the other PPV's they had this year. I was originally going to give this a 7 overall but the return of SETH F'N ROLLINS had me marking out so I'll bump it up to an 8."

[4.0] "This show was quite a mixed bag. I thought that the opener was pretty good, a solid way to kick things off, Machine Gun & Gallows looked like stars (**3/4), the US Title match was really disappointing (*1/4), New Day/Vaudevillains was a basic tag bout (*), the 4-way was a fun, good match (***), Jericho/Ambrose was just awful, nothing good about it (DUD), same can be said about Charlotte/Natalya (DUD). I was originally gonna give the show a 3, but the main event between AJ Styles & Roman Reigns made me give it a 4, because of how good that match was. I just absolutely loved it, really an excellent main event (****1/2)."

[7.0] "Payback was a better event, Extreme Rules has some good matches but it still seems too predictable, there isn't even a surprise in the entire card. The Asylum match is a flop, it has a couple of hardcore spots but the crowd hated it and was bored. Roman vs AJ is a great main event, the Fatal 4 Way the most spectacular for the in-ring action. The rest is acceptable, not a bad match except for the Asylum."

[8.0] "This was a great PPV that featured two fantastic matches and was undoubtedly WWE's best PPV of 2016 so far. The I. C. 4-Way was an excellent, action packed contest in which everyone looked incredible (even The Miz) and the Main Event was a tremendous, dramatic brawl that saw AJ bump around like a madman. Even though he had no chance of really winning, the match told such a great story that you really believed Styles could pull off the upset here. Alas he didn't, but every cloud and all, as Seth Rollins returned in the post match. Great stuff with these two matches. The rest of the card was somewhat mixed. The Asylum Match was weird in that it was dying a death until the thumbtacks and barbed wire came into play and the last 8 minutes or so were really good. Just a shame about the really dull previous 18. The Women's match was another waste of their talents. We all know these two can have a great match, so why they feel the need to bury them with this stupid booking is beyond me. 1, Anderson & Gallows vs. Usos (***1/4) 2, Kalisto vs. Rusev (***1/2) 3, Tag Title Match (**1/2) 4, Miz vs. Zayn vs. Cesaro vs. Owens (****1/2) 5, Asylum Match (***1/2) 6, Women's tITLE (**3/4) 7, Roman Reigns vs. AJ Styles (****1/2)"

[5.0] "Pretty 'meh' PPV. Usos vs Anderson and Gallows was average, which is lucky because we've seen this match a dozen times already, but it was also pretty forgettable. **3/4. Rusev vs Kalisto was MOTN for me, as Rusev's power moves and 'brutish' wrestling against Kalisto's high flying was pretty enjoyable to see. I really liked how Rusev worked over Kalisto's back and then had to quickly submit the injured Kalisto in order to avoid a disqualification or TKO. ***1/4. Vaudevillains vs New Day was alright. Some moments it genuinely seemed like our world famous two time champs would lose their belts, but luckily they managed to get the win. Xavier and Big E both performed well and the VVs continue being interesting and convincing heels. ***. The IC Fatal 4-way was pretty poorly structured. Too much interference and too many moments of wrestlers stupidly waiting outside the ring for their next spot, but a few nice sequences made this alright. ***1/4. Ambrose vs Y2J was bad. The Asylum just looked ridiculous, and neither wrestler made any weapon attack look important (apart from the tacks, which was a good spot). **1/4. Charlotte vs Natalya was average, but that awful finish really ruined its positives. WWE's womens' division is still a joke, I see. **1/2. Reigns vs AJ was a weaker version of their Payback match. Slow pace, underwhelming hardcore spots, and an awful finish, but AJ and Roman both performed well, putting together quite a few good sequences. ***1/4"
