| 1 | 26.12.2023 | CMFunk007 | 6.0 | Two more weeks of television and it was refreshing to get out of the Sportatorium, despite my love for the rabid fans there. But it's nice for something different to freshen things up. The matches were decent enough, but outside of the Von Erichs/Freebirds match, there wasn't really any standouts. |
| 2 | 10.11.2021 | 5nicoShuffle | 6.0 | Firstly there is an error here, as it was Jerry Gray that Johnny Mantell faced, not Gordman. Anyway, another good lot of TV matches, with mostly clean finishes, which is a little rare for World Class. Very weird squash between Buck Zumhofe & Buddy Roberts, with Zumhofe beating Roberts in literally seconds. The constant interferences of Prescious & Sunshine on behalf of their respective charges leads to a mixed Tag match, which under-delivers. Bill Mercer's commentary is unbearable to listen to at times, Mike Von Erich is still pretty bad in the ring, but I must admit his sitting Piledriver to a headstanding Terry Gordy was something I'd never seen before. Pretty neat to see a show at somewhere else other than the Sportatourium, even if the crowd here weren't as rabid. Another show that proves what a great idea miking the ring was. |
| 3 | 28.02.2017 | jboyaquar | | Kevin & Mike Von Erich vs. Freebird Hayes & Gordy: Aired 11/03/84 on WPW. This was prior to Mike’s accident that left him an angry mental midget so this should be pretty fun. Post-adolescent young ladies (rats? ) proudly show off their personalized pictures w/ Mike, (or Kevin…couldn’t tell, ) for the camera. “…Tell them, tell them how it feels going to Badstreet, ” MH japes at Kevin while holding him in a front chinlock. “That’s just too bad, ain’t it? ” yells the taunting MH to the screaming female fans. Will Kevin come back? Why not build a cliffhanger so we find out next week, or not…Mike’s in and thrills us w/ his grounded side headlock. I can almost hear Fritz screamin’ out, ‘Fundamentals, boys. ’ Mike has such an awesome leg scissors that it’s as if he’s repeatedly piledriving TG who is entertaining watching him try and get out-of-it. In the end Kevin hits a springboard flying X-bidy from the top SE ropes on TG for the pin. The VE’s are a bit silly in that they’re undersized and seemingly unequipped, Kevin typically comes off as quite amateurish, to deal w/ The Freebirds but they got the job done. Buddy Roberts comes from the back for a post-match beatdown, incl a chest-breaker on Mike across Buddy’s knees. The Missing Link (w/ Skandor) vs. Mike Gallagher: Uh-oh…I don’t recognize his name, so I fear those ladies’ screams will not be satiated as this young white boy appears to be a loser in pro wrestling. Link wears a chair around his head and threatens to ram his own head into the post. Mike’s got a good build but he’s rather non-descript. Link hits a nice powerslam and has some interesting offense like walking onto and briefly across side ropes and then landing on his opponent w/ a headbutt for the pin. It’s a shame he was a mess in New York. Kamala vs. King Parsons: Dig the tribal drums during the announcement of Kamala. K takes a nice bump over-the-top after a Parsons dropkick. The Link disturbs the bout a few minutes in during Parson’s comeback. |
