[5.0] "Very middle of the road show that I found myself a bit lower than consensus on just about every match on the card. The opener is the best match on the card, but I wasn't moved by it and found it to be just a solid plunder match with a few cool spots. New Day/Usos shows glimpses of what their feud will become, but the babyface/heel dynamic is completely backwards at this point in time and the match struggles as a result. Del Rio/Kalisto had promise but fell apart a bit after a horrific botch, cool to see Kalisto win the title though. Charlotte and Becky will have much better matches, but this one is fine. The Rumble isn't awful but it has a lot of issues and an awful decision on the winner - mostly notable for AJ Styles' terrific debut and Sami Zayn's return."

Overall WWE Royal Rumble (2016) is a fantastic show and one of the best of it's kind."

[5.0] "A show I never really understood the praise for and felt inflated based on the reception to AJ debuting. The opener was enjoyable and the midcard was solid. While the rumble was better than almost all from 2011-2015, it still was not great. Not bad but could have been stronger."

[7.0] "The IC title match was awesome, a real slobberknocker. Tag match was fun, The New Day bring energy to even midtier matches. Skipped the U.S. title match, Divas match was whatever. The Rumble was pretty fun with some great moments like the AJ Styles debut, the Sami/KO faceoff, Trips appearance. Luke Harper hits hard like he always does, Brock's suplexes are great but didn't bring too much to the match. Roman's story with the Authority is a good one, and Trips brings a final boss energy to that story. However the Roman break really deflated that story for me. I get they were going for a comeback feeling towards the end when Sheamus came out and RR came back, but how great would the story have been if Roman put on a hell of an iron man performance, only for the COO to come down and take him out?"

They brought a really good intensity and had a good No DQ match with a crazy final spot (***1/2), Kalisto/ADR wasn't good (*1/2), Girls also didn't have a great showing (**), Rumble wasn't as bad as others thought for me (**3/4)."

[5.0] "The under card was pretty good. Right out of the gates with a very good Intercontinental match. All the under card matches where enjoyable. Then comes the main event. These types of matches are never good. They produce memorable moments, which is , I suspect all they are really booked for. This years moment was A. J. Styles . But really what this should be remembered for is once again the ownership destroys the younger more viable talent to remain in the spotlight. HHH basically ate Dolph Ziggler for breakfast and crapped him out. And once again this company fails to realize that if you have fifty impressive looking giants they look a lot less impressive when standing next to the 49 others. Worth watching: Ambrose vs. Owens , New Day vs. Usos , Del Rio vs Kalistico , and Charlotte vs. Lynch with my top match being Ambrose vs. Owens."

[7.0] "Ambrose vs Owens: ****1/2 New Day vs Usos: * Del Rio vs Kalisto: **1/2 Charlotte vs Lynch: *** Royal Rumble: ***1/2 The rumble was really predictable, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Still, the crowd was against Reigns despite him putting in a ton of work, so no real drama was created. It was still better than the last two years though. Ambrose and Owens stole the show by far, and Charlotte vs Lynch was the most intriguing women's match on the main roster for some time."

[7.0] "Good show with good work from top to bottom of the card. It seems as if we are going to get Lesnar/Wyatt and HHH/Reigns at WM 32. That doesn't seem interesting to me but the real problem is that after the reaction Reigns got at the rumble running HHH/Reigns as the main event will be rejected by the fan base."

[8.0] "Much improved over the last two years. It was a good show and if you're a fan of the story this company wants to tell right now, then there's no doubt you'd enjoy it. Personally, I have a lot of doubts that the current main event booking is the right direction to go in. That said, even with those doubts, I found myself very much enjoying the show. One thing I should note that was particularly egregious was the production crew's frequent failures to catch the correct shot be it for a spot in a match or especially AJ Styles' entrance. Lots of misses there."

[8.0] "After a few really bad events, WWE restarts the road to Wrestlemania with a solid Royal Rumble. The first match is brilliant, different from many Last Man Standing matches seen before. The tag team match had funny moments and proved that New Day has great entertainers. Del Rio vs Kalisto was more of a lucha than a common match, maybe too short. The divas match was disappointing and the worst match of the night. The Rumble was solid and full of action, so it's a good event with more hits than misses."
Oddark123 wrote on 26.01.2016:
[10.0] "Wonderful event. Opened up with a good hardcore style match to give the crowd a wow. The Tag Team match delivered with the New Day providing their patterned comedy and a good match. Kalisto reclaiming the US title was a nice moment. Charlotte beating Becky with help from Daddy was a little disappointing but still delivered wonderfuly and Sasha came to set up the next chapter. Finally the Rumble provided a nice show. Set up future matches, some good non-officially-announced appearances. Greatly enjoyed it, don't get the hate by others and wouldn't really want to be involved with anyone that negative. Keep up the good work WWE."

[7.0] "I am going to say this show was good. Not great, even though it had some great moments like AJ styles pop and that sasha banks pop. I enjoyed the usos match with new day. Was fun but i feel those 2 teams are to similar. They need the young bucks bad in wwe. I enjoyed the charlotte match with becky lynch even though it got sloppy at a few points. becky spent more time messing with her shin attire then with charlotte. I am usually not a fan of the rumble match so this was standard fare. I always like when at the end of the match you can get mabey 5-10 minutes of action from the last 2 guys. Adding the title stipulation was a nice change but i think they can still do more to take this to the next level. mabey go back to the old school style by starting everyone in the ring. overall a good show. not great but had some great moments."

I marked for Sami Zayn. For the rest I'm not a fan of the Mania build ups. Reigns/HHH, Brock/Bray both sound bad on paper tbh."
NastyYaffa wrote on 25.01.2016:

Ambrose/Owens was awful (*1/4), tag title match was not any good (*1/2), Del Rio/Kalisto was the only above average match on the show (***), Charlotte/Becky was awful (*) and the Rumble was pretty awful (*1/4). I think the Rumble match was better than the ones we saw in 2015 & 2014, but as an overall show, this was just as bad as the previous 2 Rumble PPV's."
JxhDel wrote on 25.01.2016:
[4.0] "Just an adequately average PPV, appreciable LSM opener (**3/4), RAW-level midcard, all matches passable, some enjoyable surprise post-matches, (**), decent Royal Rumble, nothing exceptional on in-ring side, it just flowed, but in my opinion it was smartly booked as for entrances and eliminations, so at least it was kept exciting from the beginning to the very end (**1/2)."
DanTalksRasslin wrote on 25.01.2016:
[8.0] "One of the better Rumbles in several years. While not perfect, the Rumble match did a lot to set up the storylines going into Mania, and I actually don't hate HHH as champ for a short-term deal to drop it at Mania to a younger star like Reigns or, preferably, Ambrose. We also had other hints of what the Mania card might look like with the Wyatt Family-Brock Lesnar situation, Kevin Owens' interactions with Sami Zayn and Chris Jericho's with AJ Styles. Styles had a memorable entrance, though I would have liked to see him show more of his skill in the actual match rather than be on the defensive nearly the whole time he was in. All four of the undercard matches were also very strong - Owens vs. Ambrose most notably, though the women's match was overall very good as well - my only major complaint being the hot-potatoing of the now nearly-worthless US Title (also, the pre-show four-way tag was promising, but ended in a bit of a trainwreck). This was the first WWE main-roster PPV I've watched live as it happened in a number of years, and overall I'm rather happy with how it turned out."
Blabe wrote on 25.01.2016:
[9.0] "This was an entertaining PPV, minus the pre-show match which was disgraceful. The LMS match was great, the tag team match was boring in parts, mostly due to the Usos, but it picked up at the end. The US Title and Divas Title were ok, it was nice seeing Kalisto getting his big moment and Sasha Banks kicking ass. The Rumble was also interesting and we got to see many potential feuds in the making, along with AJ Styles debut. 9/10."

[6.0] "After 4 amazing matches i thought Royal Rumble Match going to be fantastic but that went sh*t. First of all AJ Styles debut was a great moment but what he did in the ring? Nothing! He never cleared ring, he never hit his finisher, every time i check for AJ he was laying in the corner or getting beat up by someone. And you have the elimination of Lesnar. Guy who ended greatest streak in the wrestling history eliminated by 4 Jobber To Stars. That's it? What is he going do at Wrestlemania? 4 on 1 handicap match? There is no storyline you can put Lesnar in it. Lesnar has to do something with that title not a freaking personal feud. Everything was going well until Royal Rumble Match. I had a great smile on my face but it disaperred when AJ got eliminated and never came back. When Lesnar got eliminated it just turn into a angry face. 4 amazing matches all disaperred. Great moments like AJ's debut, Sami Zayn's return just disaperred. I am not happy. This is Royal Rumble. Royal Rumble have to make us happy not angry!"

Fantastic opener, the Tag, US and Divas matches were all very solid and entertaining. And the rumble itself was absolutely brilliant. So many stories throughout, some very entertaining wrestling, AJ freaking Styles... Seriously, the possible storylines that could play out after that Rumble match is very exciting. Definitely the best Rumble PPV for a good few years and I consider myself thoroughly entertained! Couldn't ask for more than that!"

US title had a lot of notches bit was still fun **3/4. Divas title was going great but the interference again hurts it ***1/2. The rumble itself was... PHENOMENAL. a thrill ride from start to finish with great suprises and performances. As a match I'd say ****1/4 and one of the best rumbles ever. However the unneeded HHH win hurts the overall show down a point as he doesn't need it"
