[10.0] "I had so much fun watching this episode. Is it objectively good? Not necessarily, but wow this is truly Total Nonstop Action. Some absolutely hilarious moments including Jeremy Borash being made into a sex toy, Malice with the loudest choke slam ever, R-Truth vs NASCAR, Jeff Jarrett going insane and killing Harley Race."

[4.0] "The easy thing to say about all of these early TNA shows (and, some could say, all TNA shows in general) is how uneven they are. There's good stuff in here - the opening and closing matches highlighting the X Division, with Jerry Lynn and Styles defending their tag titles and then a main event for the X Division "contender's ranking" to be sorted out are thrilling, high-paced, and a show of what great modern wrestling could be. Then, of course, you had basically everything in the middle of the show dragging it down. A plodding title match between Shamrock and Omori, several mediocre tag matches, and the, frankly, abomination that is K-Krush vs Hermie Sadler were all absolutely miserable, and a lot of the story beats with Jeff Jarrett continuing to stomp around as a stroppy, tantrum-throwing baby, K-Krush being the most uncomfortably positioned as a heel wrestler I've seen in a while, and still trying to push Bryan Lawler as a credible top card heel were all pretty dire. Not to mention racing to the Styles-Lynn breakup a week after they won the belts and made their first successful defense. TNA can just never get out of its own way."

Yes, we still had to sit through a stupid Dupps segment and Borash fulfilling his male fantasies, plus Sadler proved why he really shouldn't be setting foot in a ring. But beyond that, there were plenty of highlights. The opener was fantastic, giving us another strong progression in the Styles-Lynn program and serving as a great way to establish The Disciples as a top heel team. Lawler did a decent job trying to get his new heel persona over, we got to see the very young Briscoes making their debut, and the main event delivered a great, fast-paced multi-man match with everyone looking sharp. I also enjoyed how Mitchell's stable was featured throughout the show - they did a good job establishing them and building toward the closing angle."

[6.0] "The best NWA-TNA show to this point, mostly due to the heavy presence of the X-Division up and down the card, but the Disciples of the New Church, a good NWA title match, and WCW-veteran-getting-squashed Norman Smiley all held up their portions. The PG-13 T&A component of TNA wasn't as forced in this episode and the attempts at crash TV were largely absent, though the bad habit of outside interference that plagued TNA through most of its history was still there to bring things down a bit."

Cool to see the Briscoes here, i had no idea they were in TNA also Jay gets destroyed with one of the loudest chokeslams ive heard in my life. The first and last match are worth a watch aswell. Some really bad things gs such as The Dupps promo, the Brian Christopher promo and the Ron Killings match."

Also nice to see a very young looking Briscoes (shame they lost) Shamrock vs Omori was ok for length but finish was rubbish and predictable. This show also had better backstage segments (not all) especially stuff with Jerry Lynn & AJ. Main Event was also good as expected its X Divison after all. But the cringe segment with Jeremy Borash was not good and the nascar driver match against K-Krush wasnt good so marks show down. Overall a ok show that showed that TNA was at least moving slowly in the right direction."

The Dupps are disgusting though and the stripping segment was awkward and unneeded. Though it was still bad I was shocked how good Ron Killing's match was with Hermie Sadler, Hermie hit a really decent looking sitout powerbomb, I was shocked. Overall an easy to watch event with some good wrestling and some absolute dumpster fire segments."

[4.0] "The best show of NWA-TNA so far, it's still not required viewing. The Opening match was a fun tag team match but not much more, Brian Lawler's promo wasn't particularly good though I don't think it was terrible, and his match was just a squash match. I can't say I was much of a fan of K-Krush VS Hermie Sadler, it was a very bad celebrity match. neither of the tag team matches that followed it too much to write home about, Although seeing the briscoes was lovely. the NWA World Heavyweight Championship match was sort of predictable especially considering the stuff with Jeff Jerett Backstage. but I didn't hate it and I like what they're doing with it jerett. the main event was a very fun match of the kind of TNA would become famous for. The brawl end of the show was sort of a let down. Not a good show but definitely an Improvement"

[5.0] "This was my favourite NWA-TNA Weekly PPV so far; which really isn't saying that much at this point to be honest. Somehow the Jasmine St. Claire lap dance was my favourite angle/segment on this show, but only because of JB's facial expressions and Ed's hilarious spear. This show probably also has the most watchable matches so far. Brian Christopher becomes Brian Lawler on this show. The Hot Shots debut on this show against the Briscoe Brothers of all people; funnily enough the team TNA doesn't try to push is the one that goes places."

[3.0] "The best part of the show were the tag team championship match between AJ & Lynn and the Disciples of the New Church, which is a good match with good action and a cool rivalry is settled, and Shamrock vs Omori, even with that awful finish. The rest of the card was bad, with a horrible segment involving Borash watching a woman strip or the awful NASCAR driver storyline. The main event wasn't bad, but it had some problems. Perhaps is was one the best first shows, but by any means is good. I recommend to watch only some of the matches."

[6.0] "1) AJ & Lynn vs Slash & Tempest: **3/4 OK match, starting a storyline between the two champs 2)Brian Christopher promo: He is so uncharismatic and bland. He has "you have no talent" heat. Also TNA trying to be edgy by having him denounce his father. 3)Brian Christopher vs Norman Smiley: *1/4 Norman is a good technical wrestler and carried this hard 4) K-Krush Promo and match vs NASCAR guy: I hate this angle with this NASCAR redneck that is just there to service the fans. K-Krush is way above that. The ending of the match was nonsense. The referee reverses the decision for an after-the-bell cheapshot? Come on. 1/2* 5) The Briscoes vs The Hot Shots: DUD. Mitchel's faction promotion was the only object of this match. They dragged poor Omori into the clusterfuck that is the US mainstream wrestling product. 6) Incest, pigfucking rednecks is probably a worse gimmick than the Johnsons. It hasn't aged well at all 7) Dupps vs Flying Elvises: *1/2 8) Omori vs Shamrock: Decent showing considering the time it was given. Awful awful ending. *3/4 9) X-division #1 contender match: Fucking great match as expected. This is a proper main event, and for all the shit that people give TNA, it used the X division really well at the beginning. ****."

[4.0] "Probably the best overall TNA show to this point, not that it's saying very much. It peaked right off the bat with a shockingly fantastic tag match, AJ and Lynn are nearly bulletproof in this era of course but Slash and Tempest really brought it in a big way, I was very impressed. Unfortunately it's followed by a pathetic Brian Lawler promo where he spends time name dropping his dad and Vince McMahon. Norman Smiley comes out and manages to have a not-terrible match with him. Pathetic celebrity match follows, Sadler looks horribly out of place. Killings tries to help him but it just hurts the head to watch, and in the end Killings has to cheat to win, and then somehow loses anyway by referee decision in an especially baffling and stupid moment. The very young and scrawny Briscoes were on their way to having a decent match with the Hot Shots, but Malice shows up and makes all four men look like garbage, beating them up singlehandedly. Makes the undercard look like trash. A gross and stupid Dupps promo is followed by the crowning stupidity of the show, as porn star Jasmine St Claire gives Jeremy Borash an extended lap dance for no clear reason. The tag match that follows is passable but nothing worth discussing, and then Lynn turns on AJ backstage out of nowhere. Title match is good but ruined by Jarrett interference, at least the main event is great with tons of good action. Chaotic ending is a mixed bag as Jarrett brawls with football players and the New Church."
