Katsuhiko Nakajima (c) -vs- Chris Sabin - (AJPW Junior Title) [** 1/4] Didn't like the build-up. Random stuff and not much of it either. The last 5 was good with big league near falls following the huge moves. There wasn't any real mind to this except bust out the spots for near falls. Great Muta & Yoshihiro Tajiri -vs- Scott Steiner & Kohei Suwama [* 1/2] Scott Steiner making an rare appearance in Japan. And his first for AJPW? He and Suwama did some Steiner Brothers tribute spots to please the fans. Toshiaki Kawada & Taiyo Kea (c) -vs- Satoshi Kojima & TARU - (AJPW Tag Title) [**] Kea came out wearing a facemask to protect his injured face, but that quickly came off and became the main story of the match as the Voodoo Murders wanted to do damage to the already wounded. Kawada was only doing short hot moments, but nothing to really save the match or Kea. Minoru Suzuki (c) -vs- Kensuke Sasaki - (Triple Crown Title) [**] Wow. This was long. WAY TOO LONG. What was refreshing was that there wasn't much of those deadly drops. What played a part was Suzuki's work on Sasaki's lariat arm and general exhaustion. But you have to question the decision to go this long because the first 30 minutes was very forgettable with mostly basic non-dangerous bodypart work. I had hoped for an explosion, but this was where the exhaustion came in and stopped this from becoming anything special. |
| 2 | 25.07.2015 | Fountain of Misinformation | 5.0 | Mittelprächtiger Pay-Per-View von All Japan mit viel Standard Kram und leider wenigen Highlights. Nakajima gegen Sabin war gut, am Ende war es aber auch hier wieder "too much". Muta und TAJIRI gegen Scott Steiner und Suwama eher schwach, nur Suwama lieferte hier ab, der Rest wollte nicht bzw. konnte altersbedingt nicht. Semi Main Event war gut und wemseidank hielt sich TARU weitestgehend aus dem Match raus, denn auch wenn ich den Kerl leiden kann, so ist es doch klar dass er weit davon entfernt war und ist den anderen drei Männern im Ring irgendetwas reichen zu können. Den langen unorthodoxen, im positiven Sinne methodischen und altmodischen Main Event fand ich klasse, auch wenn das Match ein paar Schwachstellen hat. Dennoch ist mir der Kampf eine Empfehlung im Matchguide wert. In Summe hätte es bei der Show aber ruhig "etwas mehr sein dürfen". |
| 3 | 07.10.2009 | sign squad | 5.0 | Zwei Matches bestimmen die Show. Das Tag Title Match ist schön stiff und hat sehr viel US Style Brawling (***1/4). Suzuki vs Sasaki ist so wunderbar basic catch as catch can, ich fand es dann einfach zu lang, obwohl nicht schlecht (***1/4). Sabin vs Nakajima war das beste Undercard Match (**3/4). Der Rest ließ mich unbeeindruckt. |
