130.04.2020rykejamal8.0Very good show from the ICW archives. Highly entertaining opening match with a whole lot of action. Not sure how I feel about the interference that took place, but it led to finish. A good win for Stevie Boy. Next match was probably one of the better encounters between Lionheart and Renfrew. A bit of over usage of the finishers, but a solid match nonetheless. The three way was almost perfect. Great sequencing of moves, some fantastic wrestling and best of all, Gallagher adding a lot to this match. Few more minutes and it could have been MOTN. Street fight was alright. Wasn't much to get invested in, but the crowd liked it. Gunn vs Whiplash was awesome. A truly brutal match. Whiplash leaping into Gunn while outside was a sight. I'm perfectly OK with the finish as it would lead to more matches down the line. Dar and Coffey has a perfectly good match that showed the best of the two. Finish was a nice surprise. Damo vs Mastiff was a very solid hoss fight. Two big guys doing things that most big guys don't do. I dug this. Main event was pretty good. Sabu didn't do much for me but Jester and Galloway made this match. As solid as this was, it didn't really feel as important as some of the other matches on this show. The drill spot was cool though. Enjoyable show overall.
221.04.2015steviecw9.0Hugely entertaining show from top to bottom. The change of scenery to England's capital had the odd effect of elevating Marty Scurll to huge fan favourite over (likely next World Champion) Joe Coffey and leading to an eerie silence for Chris Renfrew vs Lionheart (perhaps illustrating that Renfrew wasn't quite ready to be the World Champion of a growing international promotion). But wherever there was uncertainty, the workers were able to get themselves over on the spot without relying on their Glasgow status. Stevie Boy's title win was a great moment and I look forward to him feuding with Kenny Williams. BT Gunn vs Mikey Whiplash was an absolute war. Coffey / Scurll / Gallagher was an absolute mat classic. The outcome to Damo vs Mastiff was slightly predictable but very entertaining. Noam Dar vs Mark Coffey was the perfect mix of entertaining and exhilarating. Main-Event World Championship was a bloody brawl with many memorable spots, using Sabu to the best of his ability and continuing to validate Drew Galloway as the best possible World Champion for ICW at this moment in time.
