[8.0] "When you have a match as good as Homicide and Corino on this show, you need some real dross elsewhere to drag the score down. Not too much is outright bad on this show but it is a real shame that Maff and Ki ended the way it did."

[8.0] "This was a good show. It had some memorable matches and moments. It started with two squash matches. The first one is Homicide vs Prince Nana. Homicide wins in a strong fashion and confronts Guillotine LeGrande, Corino's friend. Homicide looks strong leading into the main event. The other was The Purist defeating the Ring Crew Express, it wasn't great. Between those matches there were two good promos. One of the Carnage Crew on Special K, it was good and real. I like their working class characters against the spoiled rich kids. Then Maff cut a great and intense promo on Low Ki. BJ Whitmer and Matt Stryker fought on a time limit draw on a good match. Both looked stiff and good, building into another match on the Field of Honor tournament. The Scramble Match was fine, some cool moves but also some sloppiness. Then Laree defeat Becky Bayless on a bad match, but at least it was short. Then Prophecy members Xavier and Christopher Daniels had a great encounter to determine the holder of the #1 Contendership Tropy. It was great, one of the best Xavier matches I've seen. A great match with good storytelling, psychology and character work by both wrestlers. It was my favourite match of the night. Next was the intermession time, with a good segment building Cide vs Corino. The Four Corner survival was fine, better than the one on the previous show, but not as good as others. Samoa Joe and CM Punk face each other for the first time on their careers. In the future this will be a legendary rivalry, but for now they have a pretty decent match with some cool work on body parts and good exchanges. Punk feels like a big star, being the first wrestler to counter the Ole Ole kick. Homicide vs Corino was brutal, it seemed like a real violent fight. Bloody and brutal, it was great. And the main event wasn't great because Low Ki legit knocked out Dan Maff with a really stiff springboard kick. The show ends with a segment involving Christopher Daniels and CM Punk, with Punk cutting another good and intense promo on Raven. This show was pretty good, I loved Xavier vs Daniels; Punk vs Joe; and Homicide vs Corino. Those three matches made this show really interesting to watch, as I didn't thought they were going to be that good. Xavier vs Daniels is a hidden gem. Joe vs Punk is their first match ever, and even if it's not as great as their future encounters, it was pretty good. And Cide vs Corino was brutal, one of the most violent matches I've ever seen."

[7.0] "This is a good show that is structured a bit differently to what we usually see in ROH. They spend nearly the entire show building towards Homicide vs. Steve Corino, and they do so extremely effectively. The opening segment (a rarity in ROH, and done in a way that was fairly brief and straight to the point) was very good and did a great job raising the tension and getting me excited to see the grudge match. The matches that were too short to receive a rating on the match guide were not very good, but they were too brief to meaningfully detract from the show, and everything else was at least entertaining at a bare minimum. Daniels vs. Xavier could be argued as a hidden gem and was much better than I expected, but the highlight is obviously the classic grudge match between Homicide and Steve Corino, which is a 'must watch' for any fan who loves a good blood feud. Dan Maff and CM Punk both have passionate, memorable promos that stood out as well. This show was very close to receiving an 8.0, but the sudden conclusion to the show when Dan Maff gets legitimately knocked out during the main event is pretty difficult to ignore and ends an otherwise strong night of wrestling on an unfortunately sour note."
