[7.0] "This was a very entertaining start to 2014's BOLA tournament. While a couple of the matches fell a little flat for me (Styles vs. Myers in particular is fairly rough viewing), the majority were at least good, and there were a couple of standouts. Most notable of these was Gulak vs. O'Reilly, which I thought was great. There were a diverse range of wrestlers featured, which kept things interesting, and the several significant debuts, including Zack Sabre Jr in the main event tag, who managed to win over the PWG faithful in short order. It's a fun night of wrestling that does a good job of building excitement to see the remainder of the tournament."
[6.0] "Really solid first night of BOLA 2014. There were lots of pretty solid matches on this event. It was cool to see AJ Styles in PWG even though his match was kind of disappointing. The main event was a lot of fun and definitely the best match on this show."
[8.0] "The card had me dubitative, but to my surprise the first night of BOLA 2014 was great. The undercard started well as Bobby Fishgot an actual decent match out of TJP, who horribly got the win, and Strong/Busick saw another successful debut match. The midcard was disspaointing, as Cedtic/Trevor was really more tame than expected and the 3-way tag fell flat, except for Bad Influence's antics. The show picked up with the tremendous war in Elgin/Ciampa, a top 3 match of the night. AJ/Myers is much maligned, but I appreciated it for the long squash that it was, and even the botched ending was redeemed with the crowd-popping epilogue, so I give them a pass. Gulak/O'Reilly saw the 3rd successful debut, as Gulak's skills drew the best side of Kyle. The main event was fun, fresh and completely engaging, with Zack Sabre shining and addng a 4th successful debut, which is an amazing feat of the show. I absolutely loved the show, even if 4 of the winners were dubious choices, and I am very optimistic for the next two nights."
